I caught major errors myself and asked Winnie to review but was initially told that there is no mistake. The number were so off that despite the CPA telling me there is 0 problem, I redid all the math myself. Everything. Later, AFTER I DID ALL THE MATH MYSELF, I CORRECTED THEM their mistake. I would have paid $1923 more if I didn't double check myself. Mind you I'm a simple W2 1040 employee, God know what other mistake they are making underneath. I have to mention they have been putting INCORRECT ADDRESS for my filing and told me that "it's ok because it doesn't matter". Well, when I had to electronically retrieve my tax returns, I always got a rejection due to incorrect match of address and had to manually prove the tax return on paper. Then, instead of apologizing and providing customer service, Peter? (I guess they are partners) berate me with email below. Complete script of our communication. She charged me $100 extra, I think other CPAs around the neighborhood was like around $175 but hers was $275. If you have to OVERPAY your tax b/c your CPA cannot catch simple numbers of simple W2 returns, I would run away as far as possible from here. Plus, the terrible customer services as noted below. Don't be fooled by 5 star reviews, they must be her family members, friends, or employees. Look at it yourself With your intelligence, please don't make this simple case more complicated!  With all due respect, you are working full time, but we are working overtime especially this time of the year.  If you said nothing about the error, and somehow we did file your tax return with IRS, then will be different situation to compensate your loss and hassle.  As of today, the FACT that actual tax return is not filed because process is still incomplete, and based on one simple correctable error, you want a full refund plus "for free" to continue filing your tax return.  Seriously! For benefit of doubt, how do you know Winnie will not identify the error during her final check procedure? If you think her fee is higher (btw not significantly higher thou) than other CPAs, you should try the one in Manhattan.  Beside I don't think there are many CPAs out there who will include tax planning strategy in helping clients to save more on taxes, while just doing their tax returns.  There's a reason why our company has over 1,000 business and personal clients, and counting!  For example, in your case again, the donations helping you saving more than $500 in federal tax.  Where's the credit about that for Winnie!! In conclusion:  Your claim is just reasonable for 50% refund under "our" consideration and courtesy for both sides, but not evidently justified for 100% refund plus freebie.  This case would has resolved already if agreed on mutual resolution and accommodation, instead, all you been asking is ONLY one-sided benefit and advantage for yourself.  Unless otherwise, please carefully consider the following two refund options: [1]  Refund 50% and will continue completing the tax return  OR [2]  Refund 100% but will not continue the filing, since there's no "free lunch" Sun, Feb 24, 2019, 11:04 PM to Winnie Winnie, this is another correction that I'm asking you to fix. I was in need of a new accountant, I didn't like how my past accountant handled my paper work so I went on yelp for assistance. I came across Hyton accounting then I read all the great reviews about this place. I was convinced that this was going to be my new accountant for the long haul. I had made an appointment a week ago and the day finally came. I was 30 minutes late but I had called to apologize and they were very understanding, which was GREAT because I felt horrible about it! I finally arrived to the office and met the popular "Winnie!" When I got there I apologized for being late again but this time in person. She was very short with me and told me I had a few minutes because she has another client that was running really late as well. ( I guess the person felt her fire over the phone ) The entire time I was there she was short with her words and had very little patience when talking to me. I felt so uncomfortable!!!!! Then I felt as if I was getting punished because of my past accountant's mistakes. How was I supposed to know he did something wrong? I didn't go to school for this!? If I did, I would've done my own taxes! Then I was being treated as if I was a moron because I didn't know the steps that had to be taken after I sold my property ( I'm young and this is all new to me)! So she stared at me for seconds with out blinking. At this point I was really nervous and wanted to get out of there. So I actually visited Winnie last year for the 2013 tax season but purposely did not write a review. I wanted to make sure she was as good as the other Yelp reviews made her out to be before posting. What can I say - she passed my expectations. After working with Winnie, I noticed just how bad of a job my previous accountant was doing. I felt like I was just another customer who made "this much money" so they templated me and gave me whatever the program decided to spew out. Winnie on the other hand was to the point, meticulous, detail oriented, asked a bunch of questions to familiarize herself with my situation and all this resulted in her maximizing my tax return. In trying to discuss and resolve the issue, Winnie has been very unresponsive and given only vague answers that seem to be incorrect.
