Let me preface this by mentioning that I am American, and I have been to France 9 times and Paris [specifically] 5 times. I know my way around the city very well and have sampled many hotels and other staying arrangements, and this has been one of the best.
I can say that I had an awesome stay here (just last week with my girlfriend). The staff was attentive and went the extra mile to help us when they didn't need to (we were able to go to our room 3 hours before our stated check in and they helped with the bags). The rooms are slightly small but come with an amazing jacuzzi bathroom. Plus, why would you care about the size of the room. You're in Paris. You should be out enjoying the town and the amazing central location that this hotel offers. It's a place to sleep, have breakfast, and bubble baths (lol). Beyond this, the breakfast was delicious and convenient. Anna, the breakfast caretaker, was so nice to all the guests and we formed a personal connection with her. SHE MADE THE EXPERIENCE (if management reads these reviews). She always brightened our day and was incredibly quick to clear tables and help guests if a food item had run out. there were always fresh scrambled eggs, potatos, and bacon, along with fresh squeeze orange juice (and several other types of juice), amazing croissants and pain chocolate, as well as other assortments of meats and cheeses. The coffee machine they had could make just about any type of coffee you'd like, and it was good too. If you want to stay in a great Bed and Breakfast in the best location in Paris this is it. Again, I've been to Paris many many times for several months of cumulative experience and this is one of the best places I've stayed.
With regard to other people's negative comments:
I can't speak to other people's experience, but I see some of these other negative reviews and you can hear the entitlement in peoples' comments. I think one gentleman had an issue with booking the correct room, but often that's the fault of the booking software service (expedia, booking, etc.) and not the hotel itself, plus they mention that they were unexpectedly charged another $69 for a roller bed but this is clearly displayed as the option on their own website, so if you do literally any degree of research beyond surface level (i.e. go to the website once), you'd see this easily. another person says they were "monitoring" every move they made. This sounds like a self-aggrandizing mentality (i.e. thinking everything is about you or people are out to get you somehow). This is also not at all true. I felt extremely taken care of in the best way and wholly refute these claims, although I also knowledge that I cannot speak to others' experience. I also speak fluent french, so that might help, but all the workers spoke english and had all the other languages they spoke on their nametag/badge, so that's not even necessary.
Note given some others' experience of "rudeness":
The way American's might find French rudeness lies in a key element of French culture. The Fench are very direct people and actually find non-direct language rude as it's not getting to the point etc. That is, sometimes American's interpret this as rudeness since, in America, we often tip toe around issues and speak in a very non-direct way. I'm not sure if I explained that in the best way, but I can say that even with this consideration, I found no rudeness at all in any of the staff. While it is their job to 'take care of me' during my stay, I don't think it's my right to order people around. Whenever I asked for something, say ice for the room or other help, they always happily obliged. I'm also not entitled and don't think everything revolves around me, which might be the key differentiator lol. read more
