    Flies at bar.

Nice enough hotel. Very nicely located as there is a great deal within walking distance. It's about a 50 Euro cab ride from the airport but we made it in about 30 mins. Lobby is small and quant. Borders on tight and uncomfortable because if there are more than 5 people in line it's crowded and tight. Room was large and comfortable. This is an older hotel that is within a few years of needing upgrade. I was on non smoking members floor but throughout my stay I could smell cigarette smoke in the hallway of the 16th floor. Club lounge was large clean and bright. It had great views that overlooked city. The food was simple yet plentiful. The gym and pool area was very clean. One major thing to mention is WATCH your head..! There are exposed pipes in the hallway you take from the elevator to the gym. The ceiling is pretty low. Locker room had great sauna and was very clean. Gym was adequate with a good deal of equipment. The hotel bar would be the only negative of my visit. As you can see from the photos I've attached I had a few winged friends. They were all about the bar area. Service was friendly.

Stayed at Sheraton Brussels over christmas 2015. First impressions are that this hotel is outdated and seems stuck in the 90's decorations wise... Staff is friendly and helpful. I absolutely do not understand why this hotel does not provide complimentary unlimited internet except in the lobby - in the rooms they only give 2x30 mins a day. Ridiculous as it meant that the lobby was FLOODED with people (including families with kids) who were on their phones and tablets. Our free internet only worked one our of 4 days but when complaining about this staff immediately gave us an access code for unlimited internet. Room was good but as mentioned, needs to be upgraded. Carpets all over were stained and halls smelled like cigarette smoke even though the hotel (or our floor at least) was smoke free. Nice little gym and a pool on the 30th floor is very convenient and equipment is new and seems clean. The view from up there is great and the view from our room was quite nice as well. The hotel is easy to find and conveniently located next to a station and close to shopping streets and downtown. Everything is walking distance.

First time arriving in Brussels. After a 12 hour flight and not eating all I wanted was to have a good HOT breakfast. Sad to say it was 5 degrees of being cold. The waffles were sent back twice. The omelet was awful. The crêpes were cold. I have been to over 35 Sheratons all over the world, and by far this was the worst breakfast and service experience ever. When asked to speak to a manager I was questioned as if I didn't follow the proper chain of command. Not somewhere I would dine ever again..$60 in U.S. for two breakfast and it was not appealing or even edible..

This hotel is simply amazing. It has beautiful views (from almost every rooms) and it's on a good position (Brussels' centre)!

Upon arriving at the hotel, the lobby is beautifully decorated with seating area with overhead chandelier. The reception desk is to the left and the market area is to the right. The agent was very friendly and went over the hotel amenities. I had made it up to my King Premium Room, located on the 6th floor. The room was very cozy with plenty of natural light. The view was of a park and near by building. The large bathroom had a separate soaking tub and a shower. The hotel amenities included a fitness centre, lounge and a restaurant, which I didn't utilize. However, they seemed to be very popular with other guests. I would highly recommend this hotel... Ordered a Brugse Zot beer from the friendly bartender. Getting ready to pay and the executive director of Hilton walked to me an out of the blue said, "His beer is comped". We finally retained an awaiting taxi nd left for the train station back to Amsterdam.

We arrived at 12:30 stood online to check in, 3 times, getting into room #458 at 4:20. Funny we got a message that our room was ready at 9:30 pm. When we checked out, we were told that we did not have the Superior room, we did not have a special room. Sabrin apologized for the heat, and very small room without any upgrades that we were provided. We were given a card with the contact information for the hotel manager. We will reach out with photos and our review. A complementary breakfast buffet was served in the lobby until 10:30 during the week and 11 o'clock on weekends. There are snacks, beer & wine in executive lounge from 5:30 until 7:30. We were given a voucher for a free drink with dinner at the restaurant around the back however, there was never a soul there. Our room has a safe, Nespresso, teapot, iron and a bottle of water. Our room was over a noisy street where we heard partiers, sirens, traffic and early morning cleanup & garbage removal with the window closed. The hallway was cooler than our room even though we had the fan on the highest on the air conditioning on the lowest, we don't feel cool air. The very warm issue was mentioned at the front desk to Sabri, July ... We opened the window 2 inches from the top just to get some air, yet early morning it sounded like a construction site inside. The water pressure was good. The bed and linens were dorm like. The wifi was slow. There were 3 elevators, 1 was working, it was often full & very slow. There is no staircase for guests, only a service staircase. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet there were fresh breads, fruits, pastries, cheese, meats, fruits, salmon, candy, make your own waffles & crepes. I enjoyed my custom made Belgian omelet with chicken sausage & home fries. There were juices & a fancy cappuccino machine. Wine, beer, sodas & small snacks made happy hour pleasant. However, there was an issue with flies on the food. The replenishing and clean up at breakfast and happy hour was inconsistent. Frequently we saw flies in the food and our drinking glasses.

This rating may partially reflect the misaligned of the hotel experience to my higher expectations of a Design Hotel by Marriott. The staff was friendly. When we arrived a bit early, they offered to watch our stuff while we grabbed lunch. They mentioned a room should be available early as they were not too booked. We returned in about 2 hours just to check if a room might be ready but were prepared to continue to explore if not. They said the room was cleaned and just pending inspection. Foolishly we waited, it ended up being over an hour and we were now checking in after standard check in time. Frustrating but it happens. The room was spacious but had a few minor issues a hotel of this level should not. They bathroom door would not close all the way, and while spacious, the room is still cozy and without a fully shut door, one could hear, well, everything happening in the bathroom. Further, the sink would not drain unless the plug thing in the middle was fully removed from the sink. These issues were reported but we weren't expecting they be resolved before check out (and they weren't). I was on vacation but needed to check in on a few work items. My biggest annoyance was that their wifi was spotty and best and kept dropping in and out. I ended up having to take my laptop out of the hotel to send a few important emails. Disappointing. Location wise, it's great. Easy walk to everything. Tenish minutes to the train station. In the heart of downtown without being subject to all the downtown craziness. As the goal was to minimize time in room, the location made it easy.

With our trip coming to an end, we had mixed emotions - it was something we looked forward to for months while planning it, but damn... we were to tired. We walked over 100 miles during our time in various cities, so we were both very excited to get back to a normal life... and Hotel Metropole was our last stop before making that journey. The main lobby area looked much more like a super old school bank, than a hotel. Outside the hotel, there was a ton of construction going on, as they were completely re-doing a very wide road (think small highway-sized.) The person who checked us in provided us with ear buds in case the construction noise disturbed us, but we didn't hear anything from our rooms. Plus, we loved the very centralized location of this hotel - everything was within one mile, which allowed us to walk to everything we had on our itinerary. Our bellhop quickly became my all-time favorite person in his chosen profession. He had our bags and basically went into an all-out sprint to make sure to catch the elevator, but somehow he did this super gracefully. I was wildly impressed. He couldn't have been nicer and more accommodating, as we had a few questions about the area and the room. The room had very high ceilings and a huge bathroom. It wasn't super updated or out-of-date - kind of caught in the middle. The AC was not turned on for our stay on May 9th, which meant that we had to open the window. Not ideal, but this was the norm throughout Europe at this time of year. Breakfast was offered for 9.50 Euros (Express) or 21 Euros (Full) but we didn't have time. We were only here for one night and had a flight to catch in the morning. My biggest complaint was the situation with the shower. When you turned the water on, it came out of both the shower head and the water faucet and there was no way to turn off one or the other. They were either both on or both off. That would have been fine, but the temperature in the water was wildly different. My shower water was warm, but the bath water was scalding. I would have loved the shower water to be hotter, but my feet couldn't handle the bath water to be turned up any more. It had to have been about a 20 degree difference. Other than that, our stay here was great!

An old-fashioned elevator with a sliding scissor gate awaits to transport you to your floor. The room itself does not have quite the same feel as the rest of the hotel. It's extremely outdated, with pale walls and worn-out furniture. We noticed scuff marks on walls, chipped corners on dressers, and a window that almost fell apart as you tried to open it. We stayed here for our honeymoon, and while the location was excellent, the room was anything but romantic. Still, the rest of the hotel does have an old charm that helps make up for the outdated parts. There was also a lot of construction right outside the hotel, so that might be something to keep in mind when planning a stay here. We arrived at Bruxelles Midi and were told we could take the metro and get off at the De Brouckere station, which is just a few steps from the hotel. We had trouble finding it, though, and ended up taking an Uber from the Bruxelles Midi to the hotel, which took approximately 20 minutes.
