Chose this hotel after reading reviews on line and in our guidebook. A good choice, from more than one point of view. Within an easy walk from the Gare Cornavin, and close to the Old Town, the lakefront and the shopping district. Relatively inexpensive by Geneva standards, exorbitant by US ones, but well worth the price. It's housed in a rather nondescript building, but what a surprise when you walk into the lobby! It's an architectural gem, with touches of it in every room. It's clean, fully airconditioned, with double glazed windows that open (leave them closed though, it gets loud down below pretty much every night), comfortable beds and a nice bathroom. We didn't get the breakfast, which was just as well, since the croissanterie around the corner serves great tartines and coffee for a fraction of the hotel price. And for those in need of a Starbucks fix, there is one at the next corner towards the river quai. The reception staff is professional, friendly and offers good recommendations. Don't forget to ask for your free Geneva transportation card, it's good even on the little water taxis that crisscross the lake. This hotel offers it. read more
