I wrote a negative review before this one and that was due to my frustration as the voice verification wasted my time because i had to speak to several representatives to know why my voice isn't being verified. In all honesty, the representatives i spoke to (like 10 lol) were very nice. My issue was resolved within a few hours by removing all of my verification failures. I completed my course on tues and got my certificate on thurs. I did pay 25$for overnight shipping tho. Overall, the service was pretty good, however something needs to be done with the voice verification as i see a ton of people complain about it. So i went to get my driving record. It said it was "instant" on their page. it was not. Called the customer service, and they had no answers at all. They would not help. They informed me to call the state's driving record and ask them why i didnt get it yet. The online audio version did not match the online written material. One or the other was always out of date and the data was conflicting. The pages were timed so you could not advance until the timer reached zero. Sometimes the timer was much longer than it needed to be so you just had to sit and wait. I inadvertently paid for shipping twice, once when I ordered the course, then at the end of the course. I paid for 2 day shipping, however after checking the package tracking, my certificate will arrive in 3 days. If there is a "contact us" section on their web site I certainly could not find it and the help section is very limited. Although paying for shipping twice was my mistake I could not find anyway to contact the company. I feel they owe me a refund for shipping. I regret choosing this company. read more

These guys are one of the biggest scam artists i have ever seen, after purchasing their defensive driving online course i spent about 5 hours going through about 95% of the course. I failed their voice verification once halfway through and called right away to inquire why. The support lady reassured me not to worry and well address it if it happens again. Well it happened again at the 95% mark and low and behold after talking to another support they want me to restart the entire course. I called and emailed support and they said there is nothing they could do about it and i have to retake the course but they can switch to keystroke verification..... My son went through the course for his permit, scored 100 on his practice tests but failed the exam twice at the DMV. I thought it was him but the instructor says that their practice tests are useless for studying for the exam and the questions are outdated. I contacted customer service and they said. " The practice test are not the same as the questions that are given at the DMV, the questions are for practice and not a main resource to pass the exam. " So what good is the course or tests if they don't help you pass the test. Basically once you do the course, you can not get a refund or any help, so they get your money and you are left studying new material and paying more at the DMV, Look for a different company, this one is terrible! read more

The online defensive driving course is a scam. Both times I have been able to get to the 60% mark and all of the sudden my voice authentication fails and I have to start over. The chat line is 0 help and after reading some of these reviews now, I wish I read before I signed up. They won't offer a refund, they just keep telling me to "start over" and there must have been too much background noise etc. SCAM, JOKE, RIDICULOUS and a waste of time. I got a ticket and needed to find an online traffic school. I did my research and decided on i drive safely. Yes, as I expected, it was pretty boring to read and watch the videos. But 6 hours later, I took the final exam and passed. I called the court a few days later to verify receipt of my completion and they had it, so no problems. I tried to use a promo code that I found online to lower the $19.95 price, but there was no place to put the code. read more

Do not use their services. I completed a class for a citation received in June 2016. The California DMV never received the certificate of completion from the driving school. I had to call the driving school twice more (April and May 2018) to ask that they send the verification of completion to the DMV. As of this writing, the DMV has yet to receive verification needed to not make the citation go on my driving record. Absolutely awful and unaccountable service. When called during business hours, you must navigate through a maze of options just to reach a person that can assist you. Once through, they make you rely on their word as no verification number is given to you when they promise to send information to the DMV. read more

I submitted all the correct information and got an error saying information is inadequate. In all honesty I really enjoyed the program. I would agree that sometimes the videos can be a little dull and hard to get over; I would suggest maybe finding new updated versions to appeal to the customers over all =). One thing that somewhat annoyed me was the little timer that counted down untill you could move to the next section. I think it would better to either get rid of it or diminish the time to a much smaller waiting time to continue. What I really enjoyed was how flexible this program was; you could work around it instead of being stuck at a driving class. The program was also affordable and on top of that the best (at least for me) was being able to take the written test online. Stay away from idrivesafely.com. My daughter has been trying to complete their Teen driver education course. Only to find her stuck every time she completes a lesson. After email communication, they have not been able to resolve the issue. They blame it on the flash player but I have tried every resource to fix the problem on my side but the problem is their course. Wife signed up for Texas Adult drivers Ed. She completes the course to find out they have the incorrect gender on the certificate. They charge us $10 to fix their error and an additional $10 to email the corrected certificate. Be careful they will scam you out of $20 just for their own mistakes. Got to be a better course with better instructional videos. Recently took this course- online. - It is listed on the NYS-DMV approved course list. Easy to register and get started. - pricing seemed fair and less than some of the other courses on list. Also checked online - same. Assume all these courses will be similar, all 320 minutes, content, etc. same. Course has random ID verification to your mobile device or phone "enter you zip code, etc" - most online courses seem to have this. It has quizzes at end of each chapter you must pass (5+ questions)- not so bad, and a final exam- 50 questions, OK not so bad. --- The course has animated intros at the start of each chapter and randomly during each chapter of course. It is child like narration and "characters". I found this narration slightly insulted "being talked down to", but then again it is really really an old video, almost like an old high school movie with "old narrator with monotone ". I had a major issue with the age of the video - seems to be early 1980's so almost 40 year old - dated. It talks about ABS like Tech is "flying cars". --- Not sure better solution. After all it is a NYS-DMV Safety Class. One more thing - most courses will take about 5 days to get hard copy of paper Cert. Most course will say "up to 4 points off Lic." this is completely specific to each individual situation and not guaranteed no matter what any safety course company promises. I consider my self pretty smart. I wanted to reduce my auto insurance premiums so through CSAA they off discounts. Well, as I was navigating through the material is noticed some contradictions not only in comparison to what is posted online through other sources but within the several modules. You can navigate on the material at your own time so I was going to comment on these contradictions later. Now as I began to take the 23 question final exam the questions were once again contradictory. I took the test a few times and failed, REALLY? So I copied each question and went back to review the material to compare the answer options and low and behold inconsistencies. For example it talked about when packing for children in the material it sausage to provide things to keep the child engaged and to also talk with the child but not to get distracted. The answer options were 1) noisy things 2) things easily packed and a few other things well no available answer provided that connected between the material and the answer options. Live chat and connected with Joe about the inconsistencies and all he said was he's sorry that I'm having problems but the material was correct. I was typing one of the consistencies and he disconnected the chat. Immediately made several attempts to reconnect with no luck and after about 20 minutes got Joe again, it he the only person working there? I stated to him that I was typing a response about the inconsistencies and got disconnected and he said after two minutes he assumed that I was done but this time will remain until I'm done. REALLY? I thought this was a normal practice to wait until the needs of the customer is over. Well after expressing my concern he provided me with a 1800 number, REALLY? I will inform CSAA about this and will not attempt to complete the test after all. It appears that others are having some of the same issues as stated online. I haven't looked at the BBQ yet but I will later, I've already spent too much time on this that I can never get back. Good luck! read more

I purchased the course and then found out that they don't work with federal court tickets via their online chat support. The registration and the course itself were totally fine. Not boring and none of the questions were difficult or seemingly extraneous in nature like some other reviewers have mentioned. The only reason I removed a star was because I had an issue receiving my driving record, but that was mostly my fault for not catching auto-fill mistakes. However, I am just too lazy to call for any sort of refund for that. I managed to send in the mail and receive it that way. Also, a warning for anyone who is a bit sensitive to emotional/ sad things, the section about drunk and intoxicated driving has a set of videos that could be triggering. But I know it's unavoidable in a course like this, so be just prepared. Overall, the course was very straightforward and I would definitely do it again if I had to. read more

It gave me a lot of information... more than what was necessary to pass the test but it taught me the rules of the road for later driving. I researched courses to dismiss a speeding ticket in TX and idrivesafely.com kept coming up as highly recommended. I purchased what I thought was the online class as it was a hyperlink. It was $30. However, I soon found out it was a bait and switch and only bought my driving record, which I don't need until after I complete the course. So I then bought the proper course NOT clicking on the hyperlink. Then the course wouldn't pull up. Of course their customer service was closed on the weekend even though the website says they are available 7 days/wk. I emailed support and they did get back to me 24 hrs later telling me they updated my course and it should be able to be accessed now. So I logged on and it did allow me to start the course; however, it asks for the county where you got the ticket and then the court. The court listed on my ticket isn't on the drop down list. So, now, here we go on day 3 of not being able to complete this course, and having paid $55 for this course and driving record when it should have just been $30. We'll see if they refund the extra $25 I paid and if they can explain how I get around my court (the city municipal court where I got my ticket) not being listed. This has been the most frustrating experience I have had to deal with in regards to a driving school. Back in August I got a ticket in which I was required to take a 4 hour BDI course but never did. I had moved from my address at the time and never got the notices. Anyway, I was pulled over again later down the road and found out that due to not taking the course my license had been cancelled. The officer was nice about it and let me know that he wasn't sure who I needed to contact to get it fixed. I called the Department of highway and safety. I was instructed that all I needed to get my license back was to take the 4 hour BDI class and when I did the school would send them verification and within 72 hours my license would be out of cancellation status. The woman at the Dept of Highway and safety directed me to their website and said to type in BDI course and I would be provided with a list of schools. Of all the schools listed, there was I lot of them that warned they could only send proof of completion to Miami Dade County, Palm Beach County, Etc. Then I came upon IDriveSafely. It had no stipulations as to FL county restrictions. Awesome. My violation was in Leon County so I went ahead and went to their website. MIND YOU, NOTHING in their welcome page or any easily navigable pages stated in clear print that they only sent information to specific counties. Great. DMV says take the course and I'll have my license back. Let's go. I purchased the course. It was boring. It was long. But whatever. They all are. That's not where my issues with this company come from. I submitted the course, called the Dept of Highway Safety again and was told by the gentleman that everything should be good to go and updated (probably the next day) as that's as long as it generally takes. I took the course on a Wednesday. I missed work (I couldn't drive and this manner had to be resolved NOW. I have a full time job and young kids that have to be taken to and from daycare. I checked everyday on the status of my license with no change. Still in cancellation status. Finally I called customer support at IDriveSafely and ask as to why my proof of completion hasn't been disclosed to the Fl Dept of Highway Safety. This gentleman tells me that they can only send information to Miami Dade and Palm Beach counties. (WHAT?!) Okayyyy I'm trying to keep it cool. I explain that I chose them because they never stated that anywhere on their website and it wasn't listed in the DHSMV website but okay, okay, so what's my next move? He tells me that I have to wait the 5-7 business days to get my certificate and take it to the courthouse. Now I'm annoyed. I can't wait that long before I get my license back. Now I'm confused and panicked so I call the DHSMV again and tell them what I was told. The woman I spoke with that I had no reason to stress, I did everything I was supposed to do and it would indeed be updated to the system. Maybe the guy I spoke to was new.... VIOLA later that afternoon I get an email stating that they couldn't submit their information as I needed to update my information. I was a little relieved-maybe that's what the hold up was. No biggie, I'll call and give them the information they need so this issue can finally get resolved. NOW the gentlemen I am speaking to tells me they couldn't send off my information because they needed my Drivers License number....okayyyyy I gave that information when I signed up for the course but whatever. I give him my license number and ask him if that's all they need and if I can expect my completion be disclosed with the DHSMV so that they can get my license situation...he proceeds to tell me that I am wrong. If my license is cancelled I should have paid for the 12 hour course and that the 4 hour course is for point avoidance and ticket dismissal. Now I'm confused again. If I was supposed to take the 12 hour course I would have been instructed to do so atleast once out of the 3-4 times I called the DHSMV. I DID NOT GET A DUI, or go through anything crazy to lose my license other then not taking the course for a violation that only requires the 4 hour course. SO CAN YOU PLEASE SEND MY COMPLETION STATUS TO THE DHSMV as I'm sure they know what they're talking about. I just need my license back for the love of God. I paid you for this class. I need my information updated already. He puts me on hold for awhile and comes back and says they will have to call the Leon county court to see if I need to change my course or if I can use the course I took to get my license cleared. This was Friday Afternoon. He also tells me that someone would call me on Saturday with a status update no later than noon. Saturday comes, noon is past. It's like 2 pm. I call them back to see what's going on and I am then told that as it is the weekend, the Leon County Court is closed for the weekend. I chose iDriveSafely for TX online defensive driving based on reviews and convenience of my limited available time. Paid extra $9.99 for video. Quiz 2 video portion states T intersection must give Right of Way for through traffic, which is correct. However the fill-in-the-blank question was: The Right of Way rules do not apply to __________________. 1. dead-end street 2. street ending in a T intersection 3. cul-de-sac 1 and 3 are the same thing essentially, but choosing 1 or 3 was marked wrong for me. Choosing 2 is also wrong in this scenario. No win situation. This is a Texas Educational Agency approved course???? NOT. Four calls to three CSR reps = 20+ minutes on hold (for one call!) waiting to speak to manager, then disconnected. One CSR plain rude in attitude after I explain situation and says previous CSR gave bad info. Another CSR was pretty clueless on how to help, couldn't get passed his scrip (but he was at least nice). Told I could speak to manager/technical support specialist, and then must wait 24 hours.. "or maybe even 48 hours since my call was Saturday evening and I don't think anyone can talk to me until Monday." And on and on... Turns out I did get a call on Sunday by a supervisor type who was sorry for my experience and would send technical team the info to correct the quiz but.... to late for me since I already finished and paid. He was nice, but what a joke. So... there are plenty of choices. Can't say another provider of a Defensive Driving course will be any better, any maybe I'm just the poor soul that hit a trifecta of bad customer service, but I would steer you away from iDriveSafely.
