After 3 hours I called back and again was told he was waiting for the price of the belt. Finally got a call back and was told $300 to replace a $30 belt!! lol nice try I fixed it with a friend in 20 minutes for $35. Very overpriced, and also they contest their negative homestar reviews forcing you to post a receipt so take those reviews with a grain of salt. Shady. TLDR: 20 minute job, no replacement parts, $240 Called for washer repair. They were able to fix it just fine, an infant sock had gotten stuck so there were no replacement parts they just took it out. Thought it was a bit pricey for a job that took 20 minutes. Also annoyingly they told me there was a discount for cash versus credit or check so i spent half an hour walking to and from the bank (they called when they finished and had to wait a few minutes for me to get back it took me longer to get the cash then to fix it). Anyways, I naively thought it was cash no tax since they didn't clarify what the discount was but then they only gave me 8 bucks off. I was trying to work from home and I would have really rathered to be working then waste 30 minutes for 8 bucks. My strong recommendation and I have gotten burned before. Although they were not able to diagnose the problem, they remained honest and told us what we should do instead (contact the manufacturer) and did not charge us anything at all for inspection. I initially emailed the I-Fix company to explain the issue but never received any response. I then called the number and scheduled an appointment. The guys 2 showed up on time as discussed diagnosed the problem with the dryer being the broken belt,worked on the unit and they say they serviced it as well. They were in the house about a half hour were efficient and pleasant and charged me $260.I paid cash and was given a slight discount.All in all they were prompt,reliable and nice to deal with Would recommend them again read more

Our washing machine pump failed at 10pm last night. I researched and found iFix using Yelp and emailed them after 11pm. David replied within the hour. I called first thing in the morning and the guys were at my place within 2 hours - despite the cold and the snow. They came in, checked the machine, confirmed the pump was broken and had the part in their van! They repaired my machine on that first visit. These guys are great--they are two brothers running the business, and they are all over it. They were able to fix our KitchenAid refrigerator the same day I called. They knew exactly what the problem was--a design flaw in these refrigerators that results in the freezer compartment not draining into the evaporation pan due to a clogged drain tube. They advised to simply remove the drain tube, as it would simply get clogged again. I took their advice. They were done in less than a half hour. They guarantee their work. Now we won't have to remove ice in the bottom of the freezer compartment due to a lack of water drainage. I had researched the problem on YouTube, but I knew that if I had attempted the repair job, it would have taken me hours and there was always the possibility I'd mess up something. Anyway, the repair cost was reasonable and MUCH less than the price of a new refrigerator, which could also contain the same design flaw. If you have a home appliance that needs fixing, these are the guys to call. They are up and running by 7 a.m. while the owners and operators of other repair businesses are still in the sack!
