St. Thomas is filled with price gouging even after the hurricanes, how can people charge $3 for a bad photo of St. Thomas? I like Island in the Sun Boutique because their prices have actually decreased quite a bit. $0.50 for postcards and everything in the store was on sale. We found out that prices are not at all set. My hubby really liked this elephant décor piece and got it for a lower price than what is was going for. So don't hesitate to ask the owner for break. This store obviously survives off of the cruise ships docking at Havensight, which are slowly coming back so I think any sale to them is a deal at this point. The people that work here are really friendly are aren't pushy about buying things. The AC is off so there are some funky smells floating around from sweaty tourists, and I think that when they get it back on line again people will stick around longer and buy more things. This shop sells everything you could want or need as a souvenir from St. Thomas, one visit here and you have pretty much seen of what all the other shops are selling. This location was a little more spacious than the other one and filled with all sorts of cool surf apparel. T-shirts (long and short sleeve), swimsuits(men's and women's), shoes, skateboard accessories, surf boards ..... a surf lovers paradise! Staff here were really friendly and took great care of us. Even tried to help us find a different size of a shirt we were looking for. Prices are a little bit more on the pricy side, but think of this as a really nice Surf Shop Boutique. The booze prices are really affordable, although I noticed they fluctuated almost daily. Also, if you buy 3 or more bottles they will provide you with a complimentary cardboard carrying box. Our party ended up buying 12 bottles of rum, which fit into two of the carrying boxes. We also purchased two small rolls of bubble wrap to wrap each bottle in and then packed the boxes carefully for the long flight home. They managed to make it through two plane changes without breaking AND there is some sort of deal where some of the airlines will not charge you an extra baggage fee for the box. We flew on American Airlines and if you fly AA from St. Thomas or St. Croix to the states, you can have one of these boxes placed in checked luggage without paying the extra baggage fee of $25. We were pretty uncertain as to if this was really going to happen, but it did! Compared to the prices for Cruzan back home, ti was a great deal. I'm wishing I would have brought myself a six pack of Cruzan, too! Ce'st la vie! Anyway, back to KMart, it's your standard Kmart, a great place to grab those things you forgot. The prices are a little higher than at home, but not horrible and they have all the same stuff you're used to seeing, plus great deals on bathing suits! Another thing is that they have free wi-fi here so you see TONS of people - I think from the cruise ships sitting in the parking lot with their laptops and msart phones getting their Internet fiend on. Convenient location, tight parking, overall handy. There is a second location further away in the TuTu area.
