The owner called me back right away and was so pleasant over the phone. We dropped in at a few gyms in the area before making our decision to sign up with CFD. Why we chose this gym over the other neighboring CrossFit gyms: 1. The coach and members always greet you and say hello. Being new to any community can be nerve wracking. When you walk in and are greeted with a simple hello and a genuine interest in you, it matters. Everyone is so encouraging and supportive. 2. The gym is sooooo clean and spacious. It is very well kept and equipment is high quality and well maintained. 3. Great programming and coaching. Whether you are new to CF or an expert, the workouts are programed to suit your fitness needs and goals. If you're thinking about it, come give CFD a try. You will be so glad you did!

The stigma of crossfit is "everyone gets injured." Yeah that is true but like everything if you train wrong and were taught wrong, you will get hurt. **FREE PARKING* (see my update below)…read more Additional updates to this review is below. Note - Yelp system issue - All my photos did not attach to this review so please take a look at the Yelp page for the photos. REVIEW: Tremont Athletic Club just opened a second location in the University Circle neighbourhood of Cleveland. They opened this new location in December 2018. I visited for a free high intensity class on 23 February 2019 and I can't wait to go back. Classes all throughout the month of February 2019 are FREE but they do take a debit/credit card on file. They will not charge you unless you cancel before your free plan ends. Unfortunately, I was charged (see below). CLASSES: There is a growing list of classes to choose from. I attended the 10:00am Tabata/HITT class with instructor Michaella A. I haven't exercised in a long time so the class was hard for me but I definitely enjoyed the workout. The class was a mixture of cardio (jumps) and strength training. We used dumbbells and kettlebells of different varying weights based on your level of fitness. The instructor was motivating and led everyone through a great 50 min class. I've posted a photo of the Feb. 2019 class schedule or you can just go to their website. GYM: Huge. The athletic centre is big. When you enter, you'll see a large area open for individual workouts and personal training. There are all sorts of fitness machines here as well for building muscles. Around the corner from the main floor, there are additional cardio machines such as treadmills and ellipticals. SERVICE: Amazing. The young man at the front desk was super nice and explained the process of gym membership, classes, etc. I even called the studio to say I was running 5 mins late and he told me it was fine. It was nice of him to still let me into class because it was my first time here (eventhough no one should be late for class). PARKING: This can be a pain because the gym location is on a busy area (on a University campus) so street parking will most likely be taken. There was no street parking when I arrived. Plus, the gym is located above a apartment complex so residents are most likely parking in the area too. I found a parking garage around the corner but it is expensive ($6 flat during a weekend visit). During the week, rates start at $3 for 20 mins then $9 an hour. Since a fitness class is 45mins - 1 hour, you will spend $9 at the garage. I've posted photos of the parking garage rates so you can take a look at it. (EDIT on PARKING) -- I later found out that there is free parking at the University Hospital parking lot across the street. The gym will give you a hang tag to put in your car so ask the front desk about it. (EDIT on 4 March 2019) -- I enjoyed my free week of classes. They were fun and challenging. The free week ended on Sunday, 3 March 2019 and I was not ready to join as a member considering that $91 a month is way over my budget. They do offer some student discounts and employer discounts but none of those fit my criteria. I cancelled my free week on Saturday, 2 March 2019 but I will still charged on my credit card. Thankfully, my credit card company rejected the charge. I was still upset when I found out that Tremont Athletic Club charged my card even after I cancelled in person at the front desk and over email. TAC later messaged me (owner, Nick) on Yelp to say they fixed my credit card issue and offered me a free tank top. I thanked them and I do not need a tank top. I do appreciate how Nick (owner) handled this situation. He removed my card from their system and he sincerely apologized. I'm glad that TAC has fixed the issue as this mistake caused me alot of stress considering the personal issues I am already dealing with right now. I've forgiven them because this was a mistake but the issue is too ripe and fresh to forget right now. We all know TAC has good fitness classes and they care about their gym so let's just end this review at that. *** - 33 total reviews in 2019. - 243 total Yelp reviews. - Reviewed on 23 February 2019.

Her instruction made me stronger (cardio endurance and muscle strength), leaner and bikini ready! Also significantly improved (decreased) my back pain as I now have (visible) abs and much stronger core and balance. I am in my early 50s. I've gotten so many compliments on my physique, even told I pass for my 30s. A lot of older women in class, but don't let that fool you-these ladies blew me away with their endurance. Over time, you realize you are getting stronger and realize the improvements. Highly recommend. Oh they also offer yoga at 6:15 on Thursday evenings. Erin the yoga teacher is an experienced professional. Nikki teaches Sunday morning at 9a, and is also a very experienced fitness trainer and yoga instructor. Great classes to get invigorated and a solid stretch which is great for muscle recovery. Both are great for stress relief as well ‍

Coach Walker started coaching at Beachwood on my first ever class. When he announced he was leaving you can see the disappointment and sadness on the members' faces (I know I was disappointed). I don't understand how you can move a coach from his "home" studio for the past 2 years to a new studio and put a brand-new coach in his place. This has put a bad taste in my mouth. I don't even want to come to the Beachwood studio because he is not there. This is a bad move on OTF's part. Coach Walker has built a huge following and a trustworthy clientele. How can I get Coach Walker back to the Beachwood studio?

I toured this location on July 7, 2025 as a potential member. I was unimpressed by my experience and did not join as a member. Amenities: The gym is very spacious with two floors of workout machines. Even at peak time (around dinnertime) of my tour the gym was not crowded, there was room for everyone. That seemed like a huge positive. There were some good amenities - pool and movie theatre cycling room. Upon closer look, all equipment (strength and cardio) and interior were disappointingly outdated. If you're looking for a modern equipment and amenities, this might not be right fit. Service: The sales guy who showed me the space was friendly. The tour was very brief. I liked that he asked what workouts I generally prefer. During the tour his superior made a comment about him better closing the sale today. I found it to be very distasteful. Overall, it was a very transactional experience - quick tour and push to sale with packages overview. Follow-ups were light which I appreciated. 3-Day Pass: I initially signed up for a 3-day pass and not necessarily the tour. I wanted to see the space but also experience what it's like on a typical day. When I called the front desk and sales about its utilization, I was told that I must stop by, tour, and then will be setup for a pass. After the tour my only choice was to sign up or not sign up. There was no 3-day pass honored or discussed. It more so seems like a sales gimmick. Pricing: This seems like a middle tier gym between Lifetime and Planet Fitness. Pricing is $39.99 (annual fee and initiation fee) or $49.99 (annual fee and no initiation fee). Group classes appear to be included. Additional cost for personal training. The price list online and at sales desk were very clear. I found certain murkiness when asking about annual fees and prorating months, so double check. My reasons for not joining were the outdated facilities/equipment and very transactional approach. Following my tour I immediately joined another local gym that was more well aligned with my personal needs and standards. If your focus is value and not so much aesthetics/equipment, you might find this a good fit.
