Found this place on an evening ice cream run. There were not many options open late and near orchidland. It was quiet and the sign was not the fanciest so didn't know what to expect. It was very clean inside and cutely decorated. After some deliberation, my friend and I went big and got 5 scoops for 12.00, the BEV. The couple running the store were super friendly and made great conversation with us. The scoops were a huge! My friend loved the coffee the most. I think my fav was the classic cookies and cream. We had the ube, coconut pineapple, mac nut. We devoured every last bite. I kind of regret not trying their cookie sandwiches but I definitely didn't under indulge. Parking was easy. We visit there often with good service. But this visit, was okay. We entered, there was one family there. No one at the counter to greet us. When she finally came out, she greeted us in a friendly matter. They usually have music in the background, but this time it was quiet. We got our ice creams. We ordered waffle cones with mint chocolate chip and cookies and cream. But because it was warm in there, our ice-cream was melting fast. My review rating would've been higher, if my experience there was better. Would I go again? Yes. Because it's the only ice-cream parlor in Pahoa. I take my child there after school as a treat. Had the Coconut Haupia ice cream sandwich in between two fresh baked macadamia nut cookies (was daily special 3.50) and it was really yummy! Hubby had a shaved ice and enjoyed that, he was hinting to the owner about adding a sour flavor (lemonade, lime, grapefruit, etc) as he loves that pucker kick. If you like ice cream and live or are visiting in the Pahoa area, check it out! They serve coffee and bakery items too. Tables and comfy chairs inside. A great addition to Pahoa Marketplace right next to Supercuts. I should also mention that you can ask for several keiki (kid's size) scoops if you want to try different flavors at one time, which is what I am going to do next time.
