Prices are very reasonable comparatively and based on quality.

Finally had time to stop in and try this out - it was very good! They have breakfast all day so that's what I did - everything was yummy! They were out of hashbrowns at 2 pm, but replaced them with fries - which were great! The toast made with home made bread was bomb! Jamie also really enjoyed his ham and Brie sandwich. And we came home with a whole loaf of bread. Service was fantastic too!

Biscuits and gravy with fruit $16 and a side of hash browns $5

Today was the grand opening of The Kitchen Witch & Bakery. The vibe was pretty energetic and the staff was working hard! There's a couple tables and even a counter you can eat at. Reminds me of an old school dinner the way it's set up but with a modern decor. I ordered take out today, biscuits and gravy ($16) with a side of hash-browns ($5). The server at the counter was super sweet and helpful. There was another server who was asking the server helping me for menus and when she didn't get them for her she yelled thanks in a sarcastic manner which was off putting for me as that server was helping me at the time. Ok so the food... the biscuits were golden and good. The fruit that comes with it was nice and ripe. The hash browns were not it though & neither was the gravy. The gravy needed flavor. It was pretty bland and the hash-browns needed to be cooked more. There are some kinks to work out but I'm hopeful it will become better with time. I would like to go back and try some desserts one day.

The staff were friendly, the ambiance was nice, the Locomoco was $20 but it was really good, would definitely recommend checking it out.

A very cute place and the service was excellent. We went for breakfast and got the Eggs Benedict with cab cake and the Meat Lovers Omelet. Both tasted lovely and were filling. A fair price for a quality meal. I am looking forward coming back and trying the other items on the menu.

Cute eatery in Puna Kai Shopping Center with a simple menu. Stopped by to get breakfast. Bacon was too hard. Nothing that can't be adjusted in the back of house. The "Joe's Scramble" was scarce on the ground beef. We locals need more meat in there. Also tried the lilikoi cheesecake....does NOT taste like lilikoi at all. It has a funny sweet taste to it. HOWEVER....The staff and service was EXCELLENT...TOP NOTCH!!! Will definitely be back again to try other dishes.

    Opening day

Run, don't walk to The Kitchen Witch. One of the best cozy restaurants on the Big Island. Huge menu, super-friendly owner (Dianna) and staff, and quick service. My husband had chicken and waffles for dinner and I had the poke bowl. Both were onolicious! The fresh and creamy lilikoi cheesecake was THE BEST. We will be back again!

    Turkey havarti Sammie

Went for dinner on their opening day and not disappointed! We ordered the Vietnamese spring rolls and boy we really liked them a lot. Could have used a little salt on the inside but we definitely be getting them again. Husband had the short ribs and really enjoyed them. I had the turkey and havarti sandwich and it was amazing. Huge portion, fresh bread. Only ate half and brought the other half home. The fries!!! Fried perfectly! Salted. So good. We look forward to going back and trying some more selections.

    Raw chicken

Avoid! Chicken was raw and the rest of the food was just plain not good (eggs Benedict and Buddha bowl) the service was slow despite being very slow and when the manager came out to see the raw chicken, she was not friendly and reluctant to make it right. Despite the poor experience, I am grateful for the reminder why I usually eat at home

Raw bloody chicken and waffles. Waiter said she could give us %10 off. The dish was not edible. Zero star review

Delicious food, friendly staff, comfortable seating. I've had the roast beef sliders and the cauldron burger. Both were excellent.

We tried the Bomboloni and Nutella Coconut croissant during our initial visit. The Bomboloni reminds me of a malasada but I enjoyed the creamy filling of this so much more. We ended up going back on our last day and tried some of the savory options - the goat cheese pesto croissant and then sausage roll were standouts for us. Enjoyed this place so much we hardly took pictures, but everyone should add this as a stop especially if visiting Volcano National Park!

In fact, except Madam Pele does NOT necessarily keep to the same schedule as the bakery, would try to time my Volcano drives to coincide with Friday, Saturday, or Sunday! Hahah. Today got a sampling of Mediterranean scones (savory with olives and delicious seasonings), croissants, danish, and my favorite... the ube cruffin. Holy Moly Batman... that one item was worth the drive alone! Since there really wasn't any real estate in our tummies, we split everything 3 ways... over the course of the next few hours. Two weeks later, still thinking about that ube cruffin! Would definitely do a repeat on that as well as the Medeterranean scones while trying other items. And as the nice couple infront of us in line mentioned, will have to return for the sister deli across the parking lot. Heard it was featured in Guy Hagi's food vlog. And if its good enough for Guy Hagi its where I want to be my next mealtime!

We got there at opening-10 a.m. it's hard to see the specials list because it's inside and people are usually standing in front of it. They have containers of ready made assortments on the counter to choose from you can grab and go. Or, you place your order and wait we opted to come back 2 hours later. Tried calling in to add to our order but they were no longer taking phone orders for the day. The line was long like 45 minutes but they moved pretty fast once you get in. By the way, the picture of the little assorted mochi ball I have, it's a perfect snack for the car ride and beyond.

That resulted in standing in the walk up line versus the phone order line that takes precedence. It's somewhat haphazard. We were there around 2pm on a Saturday. Just as you think you're getting closer to the entrance, folks with phone orders who just arrived will enter the store ahead of you. Then more waiting. Finally I get into the store and ordered six strawberry mochi. I paid for it not thinking about the price. Gave my name. Then waited outside as they've got to box my order. When my name is called I go back in and I'm handed the box. So heavy I'm thinking. It wasn't until we got back to our resort in Waikoloa and open the box. I got 12 strawberry mochi. No wonder the box was heavy and it was $23.56. The lesson here - place a phone order.
