    Macadamia nut cafe au lait

This was another fantastic find on our trip thanks to yelp! We wanted a quick-ish breakfast option before heading to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and this was close to where we were staying. My macadamia nut cafe au lait was delightful and the perfect temperature. The mango smoothie was fresh and the perfect sweetness. Our breakfast sandwiches were a mix of croissant with bacon (and butter to my daughter's delight), spam and cheddar, and Portuguese sausage and cheddar, on croissants and all hot and delicious. The outdoor seating was a perfect option for us because we didn't want to eat in the car. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area for a tasty, quick breakfast! The employees were also very friendly and helpful!

Charming coffee shop with super cute "drive through option." Visited on our way to National Volcano Park. Delicious coffee and blended drinks options.

Ola'a Coffee is a drive through coffee spot across from Christian Liberty Academy. It's nice to have a drive through place so close to HPP! I ordered a latte with butterscotch and marshmallow as well as a couple sandwiches. The coffee was delicious, it was strong and the sweetness was perfect. The sandwiches were pretty good. They were around $9-$10 which is pretty on point with other places in the area. The barista was super friendly and helpful. I seen that they also have snacks like musubis. It's a cute little place close home. I will be back!

My husband was especially happy with the 24 oz latte. We each got a drink and a sandwich. Both were delicious! It's home grown and all young adults/ teens running the place. The service was fast and friendly! It's outside seating only as the place is just a small food stand. But great views. I ate my veggie bagel too fast to snap a photo it was so good!

Friendly and it did not take long. I had a mocha frappe and it was delicious. The property is cute and inviting. Better signage to direct you past the water/ice place is needed. People stop there thinking thats where you also can get the coffee. Had I not been adventurous I would not of seen the sign on the ground past the water/ice gate. Probably would have just turned around on the CU Hawaii street and gave up.

Super cute coffee shop off the beaten path. Great place to go for a peaceful coffee that doesn't over charge. Friendly staff that genuinely care about the customers wants and needs. I will most definitely be back again soon and looking forward to trying more

Just happened by this place today and so happy we did!! Best coffee EVER! I had an iced soy latte that was outta this world. Super friendly people and fast service. Fair prices too. We will be back.

Breakfast bento box! Perfect amount for breakfast!

This place was my favorite while on big island! They have a drive through and a super cute eating area outside ! On Sunday morning we could hear the worship songs from across the street ! The workers are very sweet and the service is quick ! They have lots of options on their menu including gf bread! Also soooo many syrup flavors everyone in the fam will be able to find something they love. The sourdough bread here was so good ! And the iced coffee w Mac nut syrup and Mac nut milk !!!! And my mom loved the frozen chai!!!

This is definitely a cute place and very unique because there's not many drive-thru coffee places in Hilo. The ambience is beautiful, away from everything so there's a nice scenery and open space. I love their concept of trying to do something a little different by putting a drive-thru but by doing so they have to understand that it will have a fast pace expectation. It seems that they're still in the beginning grasps of figuring out their system because there were numerous cars leaving the drive-thru line and I chose to go outside, in-person, because of how long the drive-thru line was. I waited for about 10 minutes and the people in front of me hadn't even ordered yet. I had to leave because I had to go to work. So if the idea is for customers to grab a coffee before heading to work, pace is the area to focus on. I definitely believe this place has potential but they do need some improvement and have designated people for in-person orders and drive-thru orders so they don't lose as many customers.

Service is great. Drinks are not that good unless you are getting regular coffee. It's associated with the Christian Academy near it.

In fact, except Madam Pele does NOT necessarily keep to the same schedule as the bakery, would try to time my Volcano drives to coincide with Friday, Saturday, or Sunday! Hahah. Today got a sampling of Mediterranean scones (savory with olives and delicious seasonings), croissants, danish, and my favorite... the ube cruffin. Holy Moly Batman... that one item was worth the drive alone! Since there really wasn't any real estate in our tummies, we split everything 3 ways... over the course of the next few hours. Two weeks later, still thinking about that ube cruffin! Would definitely do a repeat on that as well as the Medeterranean scones while trying other items. And as the nice couple infront of us in line mentioned, will have to return for the sister deli across the parking lot. Heard it was featured in Guy Hagi's food vlog. And if its good enough for Guy Hagi its where I want to be my next mealtime!

My boyfriend and I had finished a few small hikes at Hawaii Volcano National Park and decided to stop here for a late lunch before heading back towards the Kona side. We found that the restaurant was poorly ventilated as it was hot and the doors were just kept open, and the wait for the food was a long time. There were a few other people before us who had been waiting for their food as well, and by the time it was our turn it was already 45 minutes to 1 hour. The Loco Moco was not what I had expected, the hamburger patties were dry and there wasn't anything that stood out flavor-wise. The macaroni salad was okay, but we both agreed that L&L tasted better. We also got a spam musubi, but it did not taste as good as other musubis, there was just too much rice and the spam lacked seasoning and sauce. Overall, this was not worth the wait, they have other items on their menu that you could try, but expect to wait for a lot longer than usual just to get your food.

The staff member (I told myself to remember her name but of course I forgot) was so friendly and attentive. There was a mildly rude customer there waiting for her food trying to speak with me about the wait and the staff just smiled and continued to be polite to everyone. I'm not sure how long the other customer waited but we called in our order and showed up before the time they said it would be ready and within a couple minutes of paying it was ready. The restaurant was clean and tidy. Will definitely be back.

Unfortunately, there was a change but for the worst. Each time I visit I pay for sauces I don't receive. That is a form of theft. You guys want to charge for sauces then your employees need to hand them out. In addition, if I order a happy meal there is a 50/50 chance I will not receive the drink with it. If I ask for "no pickles" or "mustard"-which I have to pay for- or any changes there is a higher probability of not receiving my meal as ordered than as ordered. Right now, you guys owe me about 10 sauces from different visits, 3 happy meal drinks, and .20 cents times 5 for each time I didn't receive mustard on my burger. On top of all this the overall vibe I get from employees, mainly those walking food out to the car stalls, is annoyance. Let me explain, your employees come out to the car and practically throw the food at me. This started a few months ago. They're in such a rush and so desperate to give you your food that it leaves you feeling like not returning. I will avoid this McDonalds until management makes changes. This is ridiculous and completely unnecessary. Management and franchise owner take note. We are in a recession and this behavior will not help. You guys use to be such a good location.
