After my move to Hawai'i, I went through some unexpected financial challenges and almost lost my truck. Instead of making me feel ashamed, the collections team treated me with kindness, empathy, and respect. Tammy was the first person who helped me by placing a hold on my account so my truck wouldn't be repossessed while I worked through my situation. When I called back, Tammy wasn't available, but Lydia stepped in and took great care of me. After I paid off my $2,000 past due balance, she helped me change my car payments from biweekly to monthly, which fits my budget much better. Today, I honestly feel like I have my life back together. That feeling is hard to put into words. I've been a Rally Credit Union member for many years, and experiences like this remind me why. Great customer service isn't just about policies or payments. It's about treating people with compassion during difficult moments. I wanted to make sure the local branch had enough cash on hand to issue a cashier's check out of MY OWN MONEY IN THE ACCOUNT, but not a single person could answer my question over the phone. I was forced to drive TO the bank to ask them if they either had enough cash or could get enough in time for my real estate closing. I'll be shopping for a new bank!

This is a medium-sized branch in a great location on Nolana and 2nd Street in McAllen. They were…read morepretty busy when I arrived but I was waited on very quickly. I needed to exchange Canadian dollars for American. They do offer a currency exchange services at this branch. However, they require you to have an account with them to do the exchange. I just had the same road block at the Chase bank and the BBVC. IBC only does pesos or euros. However since I have a home mortgage with Wells Fargo they were able to do the transaction for me even without a checking account. The people who waited on me were very friendly and helpful. I just had to ask if an exception could be made for those that have a mortgage account with them. The original answer was no. Apparently they changed their policy about six months ago to require a checking or savings account with them. I can't really comment on their checking or savings accounts, however they were quite helpful when dealing with our mortgage and I have had no complaints over the last 17 years despite some issues they have had as a company a couple of years ago. A benefit to having an account with Wells Fargo is that there are branches and ATMs pretty much everywhere.
