Sometimes you just need a little meat to get you through a cold London night. Maybe it's a steak, maybe it's some lamb or maybe it's some thinly sliced loveliness in the form of Jamon Huelva. Maybe to top off the warm, sweet, culinary hug you so desperately crave, you need a little cheese. One kind, two kinds, hell, let's go for four kinds and while we're at it, let's finish the experience off with some full-bodied wine. Ahhhhhh isn't that a lovely thought? I thought so too. Now go!

Some of the best Spanish food I have had outside of Spain, right here in London! Iberica Marylebone, a restaurant with a unique take on traditional Spanish cuisine, utilizing the dynamic flavors of the season to shape a menu that offers regional specialties and culinary adaptations of the best of Spanish food. The first thing I have to say about Iberica Marylebone is how stunning the restaurant design is. Floor to ceiling windows light the place up with sunshine from outside, which looks beautiful against the neutral colors of the restaurant's interiors. The balconies, mixed with the railings and the gorgeous light fixtures over the huge bar really give it an authentic Spanish feel. During our dining experience we enjoyed a selection of traditional tapas, such as the spring onion tempura, which was lightly battered and seasoned, so as to not overpower the rich flavor of the onion, and the sliced cooked beef with a flavorful dressing. We shared the "Trio of Ibericos", a selection of three Iberico hams from different regions of Spain. Ham is ham, right? Nope. Each piece had a distinct taste, robust flavor, with varying levels of saltiness and sweetness. They also exceeded my expectations when it came to my favorite part of the meal: dessert. I fell in love with the Gloria cheesecake, an exquisite mix of density and airiness in the richness of the cake, and the salty parmesan and dried strawberries complemented the dessert wonderfully. Our food arrived at a great pace, and our server was right on top of filling our drinks and attending to our needs. I can't say enough great things about Iberica Marylebone. The atmosphere, the design, the service, and most importantly, the food is all incredible! I highly recommend this restaurant for excellence in Spanish cuisine, and I can't wait to go back for more, myself!

This place is really nice, kick back and be waited upon by a set of great servers. It was a pleasure to visit this place and through in the excellent tapas, what more do you need. If you fancy a place to chill with friends then this is the place for you. Although it is very popular, so make sure you book a table.

Three dish meal. Left: Tomato salad, chorizo lollypops, iberian pork loin. Right: Chickpea puree, cod fritters, black rice

Great tapas for meat and seafood lovers. Thrilled to pay 15 pounds for their three dish lunch any day. Particularly memorable were the chickpea puree, the chorizo lollypops, and the black rice with cuttlefish. The taste is a bit on the bold end, but with drinks it's just about right. Beautiful restaurant, too, with enormous windows that rise from the hardwood floors to the ceiling far above. Would be interested in returning for dinner, but it would require a 10 hour flight from LA!

It's a little unassuming family run restaurant but with serious intent from the kitchen. I was offered a table in the main dining room or the garden when I walked in - as we are in the middle of 'Wimbledon week showers', I chose to dine indoors. The menu was written in impressively authentic sounding terms but closer inspection revealed some fusion going on - lemongrass, tumeric and enoki mushrooms being amongst the ingredients on show. I'm up for a bit of fusion as long as it doesn't end in con-fusion! Having confirmed that I was hungry, the helpful waiter suggested getting 3 dishes. I couldn't help myself and went for the fusion sounding dishes. Panceta con cidra was pork belly, rolled and marinated with garlic, black pepper and dill, braised in Asturian cider. I zoom in pork belly whenever I see it and this version has been slowly cooked to melting tenderness with the dill coming through strongly - it didn't need the wedge of lemon which came with it and I enjoyed it as it arrived. Pollo a la plancha del Parador were a pair of chicken thighs marinated in lemon grass, turmeric, garlic & coriander and cooked on the plancha (grill). I prefer dark meat as it remains moist and the oriental kick wasn't too overwhelming. When the waiter said the Higadillos Salteados (chicken livers with Iberico Jamon, enoki mushrooms, shallots, black pepper and butter) would be served pink inside, I smiled - nice to see a restaurant willing to serve food as it should be cooked and not pander to squeamish guests. These were a delight and to get some Iberico ham from acorn-fed pigs was a bonus. This is tapas of the highest order, given a little twist. A little Yelp gem which deserves its high star rating.

Situated on quite a quiet street, it is well worth taking a visit. With a choice of over 40 tapas, all very well priced and utterly delicious. Your choice of dish will flirt wildly with all senses and deliver all promises. I am always very happy to find a restaurant which has a diverse yet experienced selection of fish. El Parador specialises in scallops, Halibut, and crab... although they were many others still left to be tried. The interior Decor, to me seemed rather french with little white table clothes and a smart yet gentle ambience. The wine list was impressive to say the least, with over 30 bottles of wine, in the price range of £13-30, with over 15 available by glass. The lunchtime menu has a special offer of 3 tapas for the price of two.

But it was surprisingly good although it's not the cheapest restaurant out there. The steak is flavorful and cooked to our liking. Along with the chips, it's a very satisfying meal. We got put at the table upstairs and the lighting is a bit weird but the restaurant has a cozy ambiance.
