As soon as I walked onto the grounds of The Grand Hotel, I got "dirty dancing" vibes. The grounds…read moreof the hotel sit on the east side of Mobile Bay. This allows for an excellent sunset shortly after staff fires the cannon into the bay. The grounds are very spread out so be prepared to walk a lot between buildings. If needed, you can call for a golf cart to pick you up and take you to another building. Tips for the drivers are appreciated. There are good restaurants on site as well. Their food was pretty good. The rooms were comfortable. Many of them have private balconies with chairs and a table to start and/or finish your day. Sadly, you may also find it necessary to sit on the patio to make phone calls because cell phone service inside the rooms was horrific. At least it was bad in the Spa building. Really bad. I did not get to play golf or go to the spa. All in all, I really enjoyed my stay here. I was here on business but would like to return for pleasure and enjoy more of the amenities. Enjoy your stay.

Bliss can be expensive ~ but this resort delivers. History? Check. Views? For miles. Activities?…read moreGot it. Swimming pools? Yep! A spa? Next level! Hubs and I are not complicated people (yeah, right!) I am a Southerner, so I think I've known about The Grand Hotel for a long time. I wanted to stay here for a quick escape from my (albeit wonderful) everyday. I was pretty picky in room selection ~ I wanted a balcony with relaxing chairs (nope ~ not a high top) and a view of water. Our second floor room in the Spa Building delivered perfectly. The Grand has an app listing all the things it offers ~ I can't list them all here. Still the lawn games (bocce, corn hole, ping pong, mini golf) and bicycles merit mention! Don't miss the 3:45 pm history of the hotel and cannon firing! It's expensive to stay here, but it is fun. The grounds do not disappoint ~ the staff miss no detail in keeping this property in top form. Our room was nice ~ but my theory of hotels is that no matter how luxurious the lobby, the rooms are basically the same. Our room is beautifully decorated (calming colors!) and has all the requirements! We so loved our stay!!

This place has 2 advertised heated pools (the outdoor one was not heated), a sauna, a steam room, whirlpool and workout room. The beach is easily accessed with a walk down a long boardwalk. The beach is viewed easily but can not really be heard from the condo. The set up of the room is spot on! Has everything that you would need. We enjoyed our stay here and would definitely stay here again.

These are lovely condos compared to everything else. There's never anyone in the hall. The person that said it was crowded. It's so not crowded. Several people actually live here. There's always parking. There is an elevator for handicap and elevator to take you to your room if you don't wanna climb stairs, the boardwalk is very safe and nice. I love the big decks. That's why I always stay here. The balconies are fantastic for drinking coffee playing cards on the table and chairs. There's always a sitting area on a table and chair area And in the corner there's a sitting area around the corner for the price. They are fantastic. The one we just stayed in 70 one had new furniture a person with us needed a recliner. Everything reclined and I love it was brand new. The kitchen is laid out so well I love the Jacuzzi tub that cleans itself after every bath and they're like that in every room Every condo you won't find a better place to say across the street is the pizza place the wonderful wine bar with French wine across the street down the road is the islander and I mean barely down the road. There's a place to pick up steam seafood it's all lovely

The staff were all helpful and friendly. There was someone playing live music at certain times of the day. The room was clean and had a simple but nice setup. The shower had great water temperature and pressure. We had an ocean view room which was worth the extra cost. Waking up to the beach every morning was so satisfying. Reading on the balcony while listening to the ocean sounds and watching the waves was everything that I needed. The hotel has beach towels that are easily checked out through a machine. Beach chairs and umbrellas are available first come first serve to hotel guests which is very convenient. There was a heated outdoor pool, a volleyball net and a few games inside. We ate all of our meals at the hotel. We ate at the grab and go food spot. I ordered the feta and spinach croissant, a chocolate chip scone and a cappuccino. We also ate dinner at the latitude 30. I ordered a ceasar salad and calamari. For breakfast at latitude 30, I ordered the French toast dish that comes bacon and I ordered a side of eggs. We also ate at the fine dining restaurant onsite where I ordered the seared scallops dish and the vanilla crème brûlée. All of the meals that we ate at the hotel were very tasty. The restaurant staff were all kind and the utensils were spotless. I believe food may have also been served at the bar near the pool, but I didn't try any food from there during my visit. I really had an enjoyable time at this hotel and I plan to return in the future.

Live music every day by the pool was awesome! And talented performers! The beach itself is right behind the resort and has the softest sand. Wanted was rough but we were still able to get in a slash around and jump some waves. The property was recently purchased by new owners after being owned by sand owner who opened it in 1987, which is impressive. Mervin in the restaurant was kind and friendly and been there 12 years. Glinda in the restaurant was the SWEETEST lady there. She maker the omelettes. (Get the omelettes!! Yum!) John and Greg are great pool side bar tenders. The gentleman at the lobby bar was also friendly and attentive, we didn't catch his name. The list of things we wished were different is short. Could have used speakers playing music during the times at the pool when there wasn't live music. Wait times in the restaurant were long. (Food was hit or miss...not horrible but mostly unremarkable... However the spinach dip at the casual restaurant is off the charts and the wagyu steak at Voyagers is incredible!!) We cannot say enough about the marvelous staff. We will definitely be back! We wish them luck in this transition.

The check-in and valet staff as well as the Bell staff are always very friendly and attentive. On our last day, the Bell stand went out of their way to assist us up to the room. Again, very friendly and helpful. This is a clean and safe property. It is my preferred hotel when I stay in downtown Mobile. I average around 100 Marriott nights a year around the world, and this is absolutely in my top 10 favorite properties and maybe in the top five. I wish the Trellis room (restaurant) was open for dinner on weekends, that would be my only feedback. Management does a great job ensuring the property is clean and safe, as well as ensuring well trained and courteous staff.
