I've been to MANY shaved ice and boba places in Houston, and this is the first one off of Bellaire that I can say is delicious. The shaved ice was perfect. I ordered the small to go, with taro ice and strawberries. They put the perfect amount of condensed milk on top, the berries were absolutely fresh, and the taro ice was creamy and delicious. I also ordered the steak teriyaki with fried rice to go. The broccoli is perfectly steamed, the steak had a great flavor and consistency, and the fried rice was absolutely yum! I mean...yum! I wish I didn't live so far from this place, but it will definitely a stop for me when I'm in the area. I would give it 5 stars if they had more toppings for the shaved ice. I didn't try the milk tea, but I liked that they had two sizes. Their prices are higher than on Bellaire, but that's to be expected. read more

Just driving by and wanted to grab a quick drink. I ordered the CHAI MILK TEA and I was surprised with how flavorful it was. I am obsessed with chai lattes so I had to give this a try and I was in for a pleasant surprise. You could really taste the chai and it was milky and smooth. I'll definitely have to stop by more often and order this. Service is still a hit or miss. Sometimes you'll get someone friendly and helpful and other times the employees can be a real downer. If I could give this 0 stars I would. Worst $5 ever spent- I ordered a large strawberry banana smoothie and this looks more like an icey! This has a very off taste and the brown discoloration at the bottom is not pleasing to the eye. The boba was not chewy at all and was very soft. I visit this shop everyday on my lunch break and it's always so nice! Their popcorn chicken and fries are some of the best I've had and they make some tasty spring rolls as well! Every day I get something different but if I had to choose a favorite drink, it would be the Twilight. Not only does it taste good, but it looks really pretty too! They also have lots of cute accessories you can get too! I've had my eye on this pig pillow for the longest time, and I'll be getting it soon! So I had some major shaved snow cravings and the closest yelp result was ice valley. Never again will I go and satisfy my cravings based on distance!! The shaved "snow" was more like shaved ice and did not have the fluffy consistency as other places. Their watermelon tasted like soap and was either spoiled or exposed to chemicals. Their mango was super ripe and sour which did not compliment the nasty "ice". My strawberry banana was just a complete fail. It tasted like watery strawberry. My boyfriends milk tea was bland and did not taste like it contained any milk. Not to sound like an endorsement but if you're craving strawberry banana go across the street to smoothie king or down the street to Kim's teahouse. If I could I would give this place zero stars. Environment: this shop is very well kept and clean. It looks amazing inside. Soft chairs for casual seating and large chairs and tables for studying if you ever need a place for that kind of stuff. Free wifi here is excellent as well. The music that plays here is nice. A great variety for anyone, I feel. Food and drinks: I have had the the dragon well traditional Chinese tea which I enjoyed but after coming back and having the hot mix fruit tea was so much better after being recommended by a fellow employee. I have tried the shaved ice they serve here and that was good too. I have not tried anything from their kitchen yet so I don't have an opinion on that right now. We were pleasantly surprised to find mangonada on the menu. The owner said it's a new item, made special for him by his staff. Now Yelp, when I tell you that this was a LEGIT mangonada, know that I speak from experience. I've had mangonada in every corner of the city. I'm disgusted by every version I ever had in Bellaire. Until today, I thought that the ONLY good mangonada was one served by an old Hispanic grandmother. That's not the case anymore. Fresh mango, not too sweet, great consistency, and coolest of all, a SUPER spicy tamarind straw. You can get one that's a bit less spicy, but if you're like us, you go for the spicy one. Okay, so this mangonada will never be 100% authentic. It's definitely the closest thing to authentic you'll find outside of Near Northside. Oh, and the place itself is super clean, the employees are friendly, and they have a pretty diverse menu of food and drinks. Will be back! read more

Ok, so my kid and I love this place. Immaculately clean. Super friendly staff. Tasty cold drinks. Super fresh fruit. The snow ice orders are HUGE. They even have a limited food menu, stuff like teriyaki and edamame for when you want nibbles with your fruity drinks. Sure. It's more expensive here than going down to Bellaire. This is the first/only shaved ice place place I've been to outside of China town. It's very clean, has free wifi and has board games -- a fun place to hang out! They have boba tea, shaved ice, smoothies and even "real food". The portion size was smaller and it was a little more expensive than shaved ice in china town but they have some unique ice flavors (coffee, green tea?!). I also ordered the chicken katsu and it was crunchy and good however I didn't like the sauce that came with it. Either way, I still like this place and will come back!! This place is clean and staff is so-so. The drinks here USED to be delicious, i'm not sure what happened but they are no longer good. They USED to not skimp on the ingredients in the drinks. But I had a drink a couple of weeks ago and it was just bad. I live near here but I could have drove a few miles more to get a better drink for much cheaper. I give a three star because I love the idea of this place and the (hopeful) direction it's going. I went for the first time today and got a hot almond tea and shared a mango snow ice with kiwi, pineapple and mango. I also shared chicken nuggets and edemame. The snow ice is really, really good! I highly recommend sharing. I got a small and it was huge. My husband and I got through about half of it and that would have been enough. It's very sweet. The almond tea had strong flavor and was very sweet. I noticed after we sat down that there is a sign that says you can request how sweet you want your drink: normal, medium, low. Next time I will probably ask for low sweet for my drink. Unfortunately they are in between chefs (as of 12/31/15). They had very few food options today. All were fried or steamed options. I can understand that without a chef there wouldn't be any good food. I'm hopeful that when they do hire a new chef the food will get better. If the direction they are going for is a tea/coffee house then I'd hope they wouldn't worry about food. Maybe a few savory appetizer items and really focus on marketing their teas and snow ice. If they do want to do food I really hope they find a chef who can make a good menu and accommodate people who want a meal. At this point come here to sit and relax, play games and enjoy their teas and snow ice (ask for less sweet for the tea though). There are lots of board games to play and the atmosphere is clean and inviting. The staff was kind and helpful. I'll be coming back here to try other teas. read more

Cute concept but terrible drinks. This was my second time. I swore it off the first time but i was craving a smoothie and this was convenient. The cashier was friendly. When she put in my order someone abruptly made my drink. I saw them grab less than a handful of strawberries and pineapples and through it in a blender with ice and water. This ended up taking like watered down strawberries. Not good for $4.45. I expect at least $4.00 with of fruit in my smoothie. The Chai Milk Tea and Hazelnut Milk Tea are very sweet, but they tasted good! The only thing was the Hazelnut Milk Tea still had a little undissolved powder. Ahhh the Calamari was delicious! Very crispy and was good with the sauce, I think they use spring roll sauce with it. The Chicken Katsu was a bento box style dish and was also very good. It was fried crispy and came with takoyaki (squid ball) sauce, yum the rice and caramelized veggies on the side went well with it. As far as service, the cashier helping us was a little rude at first because there were miscommunications, but she apologized even though I didn't say anything and from there was really nice! She asked me and my sister how the food tasted and gave us little paper boats and extra silverware on her own accord since she saw we were sharing. I decided to try this place out since its probably one of the only boba places in cypress. It's really clean and since it just opened all of their drinks are buy one get one free. They offer the typical boba drinks, hot tea pots, smoothies and shaved ice. The employees were really nice and helpful, gave me a little insight on everything they offered and their own personal recommendations. I decided on the thai tea and the milk tea, since you can't run a good boba place without a good thai tea recipe. The thai tea was good, it just wasn't very robust in flavor but it wasn't overly sweet, it just didn't leave a huge impression. The milk tea was just okay for me ass well.. My only gripe? The boba. They were clumped together in huge chunks and overly slimy making drinking really difficult since they'd get stuck in my straw. I'll probably come back and try out their shaved ice and give their drinks another try. Hopefully I just got a bad batch of tapioca, but its new and the only tapioca place within a reasonable driving distance. read more

So we ordered three fried calamari and two small snow ice; taro and strawberry. We waited for our orders and when it came out we only see one order of the snow ice. We went to the cash register and asked the lady why we only have one order when we order two. So she print out the receipt and show us that it's only one order. She only took the taro order and not the other one. First of, she got my taro snow ice order topping wrong. I wanted rainbow jelly, popping pearls, and egg pudding. Second, she repeated after all of our orders. So how did she even missed and order and got the topping wrong. I don't know what's the size difference between their large and small, but last night when my brother in law brought two large snow ice from them and the snow ice I just bought is the same size so I think the lady charge me for a large instead of small. But then when I looked at their menus, they only have one size. It's cost 5.95 for three toppings. With three calamari my bill come out to be $27.87. So basically they charge me $7.30/ fried calamari. They order charged me! Their menus said $4.95 for fried calamari. It's either they charge me 4.95 for calamari or the tax is just too high for food here in Houston $7.07 for tax. Either way, I WILL NEVER come back to this place again. read more
