Located in East Hampstead across from Pasta Loft in the former Grover Insurance space, Audet's…read moreCountry Store & Sweets is a locally owned cozy candy store, sandwich shop, seafood eatery, boba tea, ice cream & dessert shop, all in one place. There are a few tables with chairs inside to enjoy your treats. They offer a selection of NH made & regional products, "penny" candy, homemade chocolates, fudge, freeze dried candy, coastal Maine popcorn, teas, honey, 30+ flavors of homemade ice cream/frozen yogurt/sorbet including vegan flavors (cones, bowls, waffle cones, sundaes, floats, freezes, frappes), smoothies, bubble tea drinks, refreshers, mocktails, coffee drinks, cooler drinks, breakfast sandwiches, lunch sandwiches, lobster rolls (seasonal), homemade salads, clam chowder, pasta dishes, and seafood. They also offer specials here (check their Facebook). There were no fried foods at the time of this posting (on pause), though they previously offered fried seafood & fries. I placed an online DD order to Audet's very recently since I had a promo and credits to use. My order was all set to go in about 45 minutes after placing my order back at my home. I took my time to head over to East Hampstead for pickup. My order was just about ready as I arrived. I ordered the Clams (with shell) Scampi ($21.95), The "NH" Wich ($10.95) with chips and a Small Homemade Cucumber Salad ($3.50) and headed back home to enjoy my food. The scampi had 10 littleneck clams in the shells of soft butter garlic fettuccine noodles with a soft dinner roll and seasoned broccoli & carrots on the side. The NH Wich had homemade chicken salad with small tender chicken pieces, cranberries, red onion, celery, dill, light mayo mix & leaf lettuce on soft egg bread. I actually toasted the bread slices and put the sandwich back together before eating. The side of salted chips were crunchy. The homemade cucumber salad had fresh cucumber slices, shredded carrot & dill in a light vinegar dressing. Overall, all of the food I ordered on this visit was very tasty and fresh. I will definitely have to stop back in again for some ice cream and other food offerings.

It opened on 1930. Homemade candies and chocolates are prepared fresh everyday, in an old building. The have good quality old fashioned candies, that is being passed down generation after generation. There were tables in the front to enjoy your sweets. The employees were friendly. We enjoyed seeing all types of sweets to choose from. I had the chocolate covered twinkie which was so good. We bought various candies and chocolates, my toddler of course was in heaven. Overall, a great spot to stop if you have a hankering sweet tooth.

The prices are steep and although we intended to pick up a few things I just couldn't justify the cost in my head. We've definitely been to chocolate shops before and purchased both their gift boxed items and confections by the pound but I just couldn't convince myself to splurge this time. In any event, they have a large selection. I didn't see the list of ice cream flavors they had on offer but that area was manned and there are some tables in there to enjoy on site. Parking is on street about a block away that you pre-pay for at the kiosk and leave the receipt on your dash board. The entrance is up a few steps.
