Stopped in for a quick night cap after leaving a Good Friday crawfish boil at at friends house in Gonzales. While driving down airline I recalled spending many random nights here when I lived nearby so I decided to stop and have one quick drink. They cut the lights on and were very adamant about kicking everyone out as soon as the clock struck 2pm. There was a small crowd of people inside and also on the patio. After being carded outside by the security guy at the door the bartender still insisted on checking my ID again as if the security guy was not posted at the door and did the same thing 37 seconds ago... a tad weird but whatever. read more

I'm not sure of the bartenders name who was working Sunday august 31 while the band was playing but she seemed less than thrilled to be there. She seemed annoyed anytime a customer came up to the bar needing a drink. Not sure if she was just having a bad day but it definitely turned me off to going back, and this was my first time visiting the icehouse.. I really enjoyed the two guys playing music and would've loved to stay for their whole set but left due to this bartenders nasty attitude. I got there before 5 and left before the band stopped. Would love to see friendlier bartenders here, The bar vibe is nice and the live music is a plus, service was terrible though and was enough to turn me off to this place. I even created a yelp account just to be able to write a review, that's how disrespected I felt from the attitude of this one bartender. I'd be willing to give it another shot if service gets better but until then ill stick with spankys, rickochets, and fat cats. read more

Stopped here with my girlfriend for some Sunday evening drinks, inside the bar was dark and seemed pretty lively. We sat outside as it was a nice day and I went in to order drinks, when ordering my drink non friendly comments were made between the bartender and what I assume was a regular about my selection of beverages. I didn't really mind and went back outside. While we were having our beverages we notice the guy sitting at the table next to us was blacked out drunk. I informed the bartender (who served this severely drunk man a cocktail right after I received mine) about him being blacked out and she seemed insulted that I deemed it necessary to inform her of this. I closed my tab and as we walked to our car we saw her talking to a regular about how this always happens with this guy and to just leave him there. It definitely looked like and "Ice House" as soon as I walked in with the use of the icy blue colors as the overall theme of the restaurant-bar. I have been a couple times and love the atmosphere. Their flagship menu item is the "KP Burger" and that was quite impressive... never had anything like it. If you love philly cheese steak and burgers, well this comes as a no-brainer... they are combined in this entree and blend harmoniously well! As for sandwiches, the Louisiana Grilled Cheese is another favorite and I loved it though I will have to be back during the height of crawfish season because instead of shrimp, it's crawfish! During my first visit, the servers were on top of things and very pro-active; however, during my last visit, the server neglected to acknowledge the Yelp check-in offer. She was asked - once by me and twice by the friend I was with. So that was the only flaw. Other than that, this is a great place for post-work cocktails, happy hour, late night bites and a fun place to chillax. Not a bad place, decent amount of room. Good selection of beer, local and domestics. There's a full bar, but there's no drink menu. Bartenders assured my friend they could make whatever drink, but she wasn't familiar with mixed drinks so that didn't do her any good. $5 and some change for an Albita Amber on draft, so decently priced. read more

First of all, this place is not made out of ice. Very typical Baton Rouge vibe and drink selections so a good choice to have a beer after work, but probably not somewhere you'd plan a date or bring out of towners. All three stars are for the kiss pinball machine. read more

Clean place with a great staff, from the door to the bar they even have waitresses to your table. Good menu of beer and pours. Surprised to see their food menu and actually love it for bar food! We decided to go to Ice House on a Friday because our friend was moving out of state the next day so we wanted to try the burgers before she left. Well, they weren't cooking any burgers so we were all super disappointed because that was the whole reason we went there. However, they did offer food from Mr. Taco (they close at 8pm on Fridays by the way) which looked really good but we were all craving the burgers. I guess the owner overheard us and was nice enough to cook us 4 burgers. They were so delicious! I got the Mushroom Swiss add Bacon and it was amazing! The burger was cooked just right and it was seasoned perfectly. I also tasted some of my boyfriend's Big J burger and it was also delicious. I'm definitely going back to get another burger. Holden was really nice and helped us with anything that we needed even though it was really busy. The only thing that sucked is that they charged us $2 for every soft drink our designated driver drank which has never happened. Usually when we go places they do free refills since we make up for it with all the other drinks we order all night. And they also ran out of Woodchuck so that sucked too. The place has a really nice patio outside that's gonna be perfect for when the weather gets nicer. They also had DJ Swole there and he was awesome! He played really good music that you could dance to if you wanted to go there with a bunch of friends on a Friday night. We left there pretty early (around 10:30 I think.) but it looked like it was already starting to get packed. The KP Burger is amazing!! Perfectly seasoned and cooked, this delicious treat is simply irresistible! The queso that comes on this burger reminds me of a rotel-like dip, meaning cheesy goodness with tomatoes. I also had mayo, tomato, pickles and lettuce. The Ice House Bar and Grill located on Airline Hwy might be far to get to for some but worth the drive. This bar has new innovative gadgets that I've never seen before. They had a wall of water with holes you can peek through when someone is standing on the other side of the wall. They also had a special effects like flames under water in special glass see through windows. The food was yummy and the bar made amazing drinks. You wont be bored at this new hot spot because the out door deck was very comfortable and had great furniture. read more

I'm leaving one star because I can't leave anything less. My husband bought 3 buckets of beer. Was charged for 4. Tried to explain to bartender there was a mistake and was berated and accused of lying. Paid for the additional bucket to just get out of there. Left a small tip to match the bad service and was followed out of the bar and yelled at by the bartender for not tipping. He called to speak to the manager who said he was already informed of the situation. He had his mind set that he had done wrong when he seriously had not. Who else would have even tipped at all after paying for an item that was never received? I can not believe he was treated so badly. read more

First time here. Not a bad place for lunch. It was quieter than I expected for a bar, but not bad. I ordered a hamburger. Pretty good. It was not one of those frozen preshaped patties, fresh ground beef. Not the usual sides, but good for lunch...chips like you were at home. They crew is clearly like family to one another. Ice house was empty when my friends and I went for lunch, yet the service was NOT up to par at all. She promptly greeted us and asked for a drink order, and we ordered waters until out other friend arrived. The waitress provided no suggestion to other drinks or food. I showed her my check-in on yelp not once but TWICE for the free salsa and chips, but she never brought them to us at all. She didn't even acknowledge the deal, even though I showed the waitress my cell phone. The atmosphere was good and loved the decor and music, but the service just wasn't food. We had to ask for water refills a few times. I wish that fries were an option as a side but I am assuming they don't have a deep dryer. The owner is a nice guy, but please provide better customer service. It's not like the bar was completely swamped. I ordered the shrimp grilled cheese which was a "staff pick" and decent if you're hungry, but not spectacular. At least they use real cheddar and Monterey Jack instead of processed American crap that's not even real cheese. I will update my review again once I get better service at this facility. read more

Went here on a lovely afternoon. The place is nice, clean, NON-smoking. But, i wish it had been warmer so we could've sat outside. The owner (and/or manager) was a very friendly guy. Decor is cool, literally as well. You can see all the neat ice themed stuff from the photos. I'm sure it is even better at night, but we wanted to try the food with less of a crowd. We had the KP Burger and Shrimp Louisiana Grilled Cheese (wish they had had crawfish) and both were good. They only have plate lunches on weekdays. read more

My first visit to Ice House Bar & Grill was on a Tuesday which is also their all day Happy Hour. They have really good prices on beers on tap--2 for 1. I had the Voodoo IPA draft from Tin Roof Brewery. Their burger special was the Rally Burger: bacon, jalapeños and cheese. The burger was good, but the bun was burned to a crisp. The cook, who is apparently called "Turtle" brought the burger to me. As soon as he sat the plate down, I commented on the burned bun. He laughed and walked away. The bun was inedible. I didn't send the burger back, but asked for a new bun. They brought me a bun straight out of the bag. Burger ok. Bad buns. Will I go back, probably not. My go to place for consistently good burgers and great service is Burger Smith. read more

Okay so I went to the ice house with a few of my friends tonight I am 19 years old I was seated and served. I was checked at the door I provided the bouncer with my identification card. I believed I was allowed in because I wasn't below the age of 18 my ID was checked at the door and I was let in. I was asked by my server for my id again an hour later, because the " atf" or "atc" coming. Originally I was allowed in the establishment I provided my iD then the owner of the icehouse said that the bouncer must have done the math wrong. My ID said I was born in 2001 the end of 2001 at that it would be hard to read it wrong to believe I was 21. The owner I believe his name is Anthony was even there when I got in he and the other bouncer were the people who let me in. I was let in under the impression that I was allowed. I spent money at this establishment and was kicked out by the same people who let me in and embarrassed at that. I am giving this place a 1/10 for service this. read more

SO dark, it's only lit by blacklights. We sat the the bar and had a lot of trouble reading the menu. We just wanted a quick burger. They were alright, my husband ordered a mushroom and swiss burger but they were out of mushrooms...didn't tell him that until after he'd ordered and taken away our menus. The food was okay, mine said it came with queso on it and though I turned my phone flashlight on to see if it did, and it looked like it but certainly didn't taste like it. Drinks were fine, service was okay, it's a bar, so I guess I didn't expect much. They definitely have regulars, because the bartenders knew most of the people in the bar. There was a guy behind counter, I think part-owner, as a bartender, taking shots behind the bar with one hand, and holding food with the other hand. He was drunk the whole night, and took forever for easy orders.
