I am not one to write reviews but this place is so great, I just had to share :) I commute back and forth between Dallas and Austin for my sales job and needed to find a quality nail & hair place that also had reasonable pricing. Well this is it! This past weekend I stopped in for a mani/pedi and a haircut ( more of a trim to shape up my layers). Both my hairdresser and nail person were friendly and professional. They weren't chatty or sloppy like other places I've been to. The place was bright and clean, and they also have a TV hanging on the back wall to keep you occupied while you wait or get your mani/ pedi done. I would definitely be a regular if I lived in Austin! Coming here was a great, quick, easy experience. And inexpensive! Which was the main draw for me. I have demands, in the form of curly, unruly hair and a small bank account. I'm not sure how to spell her name, but Rosia (pronounced Rahzia) was wonderful, she has obviously been cutting hair for quite some time, and can cut long, layered, curly hair wet, which not a lot of stylists at uber expensive salons can even do. I walked in at 2:10, was seated about 2:20 (waited for her to wrap up a young man's haircut), and was back at my car by 2:55 only out $22. That's all. Great, right? $17 for the haircut, and a $5 tip. I wanted to give more, but she seemed very appreciative anyway. Such a nice woman, that doesn't have to know your life story as other stylists I've had. Just in and out, good, honest, quality service. A+. If you're looking for an inexpensive haircut (even if you have curls that are a crucial part of your appearance, like me), give these folks your business. read more

From the outside, this place looks sketchy....I will give you that. And while the inside isn't much to write home about, I've always had positive experiences here. I have gotten eyebrow waxes and pedicures at iclips for the last two years and they are of very high quality for the price. Today, being pressed for time, I ran in to see if I could get a haircut. Diane did a FANTASTIC job on a new style for me (it wasn't just a trim). She even styled it and didn't let me go with a wet, flat mop. She was a pleasure to chat with, and it was only $20! I've been getting cut by Matt and threaded by Rupa for a few years, and they always do a great job for a fair price. Usually I just walk in, and if I ever have to wait for a cut, I can get threaded real quick. If you didn't know, there is a small parking lot around back. read more

It's a cute hole in the wall. Need I say more? Ok, alright then.... the people working here are very helpful. I am a clean freak and everywhere I go I'd ask for an extra round of sanitation before I get my pedicure and manicure done. They were happy to oblige. When I went in, it was pretty busy. It's a small place so I went for a stroll on the Drag. After that I got my mani/pedi done. I was left alone by my nail tech to enjoy the massage and TV; pretty uneventful really, but I came out relaxed. However, call in first because it's a small place and you may have to wait a lil bit. read more

I wish I could give this place zero stars! I went into get my eyebrows threaded today and left with big red splotches all around my eyebrows. The lady took off half my skin along with the hair! Hands down the most painful eyebrow threading experience ever and I have been getting my eyebrows threaded for the past ten years! The shaping was also imperfect and lopsided. The lady who did this did not speak English very well and didn't understand what my concerns were after the job was done so I asked to speak with her manager. She told me to talk to some guy who was giving someone a haircut. So I spoke about my concerns with him and how I was not happy. He took one glance at my eyebrows and said - "its not bad. you will be fine". I was really confused. Thinking that I hadn't heard him clearly I re-told him my concerns and pointed out to the obvious scabs that were forming around my eyebrows and he insisted that this was normal. I told him it wasn't and that I am not happy with their service. He basically said "Thats ok, please pay and go". Appalled at this, I told him that this was no way to treat a customer and that he is forcing me to take my business elsewhere. Well, to this threat he replied "Sure, take your business elsewhere. This is no big deal to me". Shocked and disappointed by such poor customer service, I left extremely disheartened from Iclips. Needless to say, I am never going back here again! read more

Steer clear of this place! The lady who did my pedicure clearly had never done one before. I'm gonna have to get this fixed when I get home.

This was one of the worst mani pedis I have ever had. The woman who did my feet didn't follow my request not to use a razor then handed the razor to another woman who tried to razor the arches of my feet. A different man applied chunky nail polish to my fingernails. After getting rushed out of the salon I realized three nails got messed up getting in the car because the polish was applied so thick it was still wet. I went back and the place was closed. Honestly one of the worst experiences ever. Walked in and was turned off by the interior. Was with a friend (the one who got a bloody toe), told us both to sit in pedicure chairs and had someone start with my friend. I waited...and waited probably 15 minutes before I decided to get up and leave. Right after I left they had my friend call me back and say now they had someone ready for me....ok? I have to say I love this place. Never mind the awesome fact that it's right by school, and i'm in school, but the service there is just great. I only go to get a mani-pedi, but everyone in there is always so nice and friendly. I always see Dao. She is so sweet and very neat and detailed in her work. My nails look fabulous right now. You can tell that she really wants to do a good job for you and she is very good about asking for your input on style, etc. If you want to talk, she'll talk. If you want to just lie there in relaxing silence, that's possible too. I went to a nail place by the Red River market and they charged $40 for a mani-pedi and the work was so sloppy. I couldn't believe how much better of a job Dao does for less money. In fact, the only reason I went somewhere else is because Dao had alot of clients that day and I was short on time and hadn't made an appointment. Now, I make appointments. read more

I have been a regular with Leticia when she was in the salon at the Dobie Mall. However, now that she has moved to IClips, it has become increasingly difficult to find time to get there..especially when school is in session and traffic and college pedestrians are at their peak. I finally got the time to get away and arrive at their advertised opening time of 9:30. Much to my surprise they were not open, no one in the shop. I finally left at 9:45. Customer lost. read more

I have been here several times to have my eyebrows threaded, and had always been pleasantly surprised by how well the lady cleaned them up and for only 10$. Well the last time I went, I was helped by a woman I hadn't seen before. She was extremely rude and didn't even offer me a place to set down my things. I almost jumped off the chair the first time she threaded my eyebrows, and considering I have had threading done for months now I would say it was due to her inexperience/lack of care or a combination of both. After tearing up throughout the entire process, I noticed that my brows appeared uneven and politely tried to tell her so. She yelled at someone behind me saying she had only "cleaned them up" and not shaped them. She even made me put the aloe on myself and was unbelievably rude. Normally, I would brush this off but it was my 21st birthday and I left in tears. Now my usually thick brows that I just like to have cleaned up are entirely too thin, and are puffy and red. They have most definitely lost my business and I highly suggest if you are looking for a good place to have your eyebrows threaded to take your business elsewhere. I have been looking for a decent place that waxes eyebrows for the past 2 years. The other day as I was walking down the drag, I noticed this place. I had walked down the drag several times, but had never noticed this place. I decided to give Iclips a try, and I'm glad I did! I went during dead days before finals, so there was only one other person in the salon. I waited for like 10 minutes and then it was my turn. She asked me how I wanted my brows, and I told her what I usually tell everyone (visibly arched, but not too thin). When she was working on me, it seem like it was taking longer than usual. From past experience, I just assumed that she had messed up and was trying her best to fix them. To my surprise, when she was done, my brows looked PERFECT. Even better than I expected. I guessed she was just taking her time to make sure she did a good job. The lady was also very nice. They also thread eyebrows, but I usually just wax. I will be returning here the next time I need my eyebrows done, and hopefully I am left just as satisfied as today. The price was reasonable (only $8). I can't really think of anything to complain about after my first visit. read more
