Grate movie theater but I don't go to this theater as much but its definitely better then the 4 hills location

This was an interesting one. I really liked so much about this place- the price, picking seats ahead of time, the recliner chairs with a foot rest, the sliding separators, free refills on popcorn and soft drinks, alcohol. But it felt a bit chaotic and a little run down. Will 100% return! But could totally understand how someone else may not like it here read more

This is by far the most underrated theater in Abq! They have self serve unlimited popcorn and drinks, along with free flowing nacho cheese and pickled jalapenos! The seats are large, with not only an adjustable recliner, but a head adjuster! They also have head dividers, so if you end up sitting next to a random person you don't feel like you are up on them. But, even going on a Saturday night they are never packed and you can usually get a row for yourself. read more

Update: They now have a bar! Serving beers (some local), wines, Whiteclaws, and 9 different frozen daiquiris that you can mix. Got a VIP Vibes - mango and peach with strawberry puree, lime and a cherry on top. Loved it! Their popcorn is still my favorite. Theatre and restrooms were really clean. The seats in this theater have a lot of room and the people in the row in front of me did not block my view. I like that. However, one thing I didn't like about this theater is that you can't bring your own water bottles in and you can't even get a water cup to just get a glass of water. read more

I went for the first time last week. This is my son's favorite theater. I had never been there. What a breath of fresh air! The seating is incredible. Not only the reclining seats, but they have these privacy screens between seats that you can pull idown. The popcorn refills !! read more

There was no toilet paper in the stall and it had a two large roll capacity holder. This was at 1:25 PM yesterday. Which to me means that no one checked the bathrooms either the night before or first thing that morning, or who knows when the last time it was checked. I went back to the concession stand to let them know about this and they just stood there, staring at me. Our movie was supposed to start at 1:30. Finally at about 1:45 one of the few people in the room went to check on what was happening. (We were a patient bunch.) When the movie finally started a few minutes later, it lasted, barely past the beginning when the screen went blank, but we could still hear what was going on. This time we moved faster. The same woman that I told about the lack of toilet paper came into the back of the theater with a walkie-talkie. I went back just to be sure that they would restart the movie because we had missed a few minutes of the beginning. Her response was that it only been a couple of minutes! And she said it with the attitude like it shouldn't matter and what was my problem. Not great customer service! At that point, she was my problem, But not enough to fight with her about it. We finally got to watch a movie and eat our popcorn. We had purchased the medium bag. When we got up to leave, we looked down and there was a huge puddle of butter under the popcorn sack. My daughter swears she did not put that much butter on the popcorn and thank goodness we had put a napkin down under it for some reason. I made the two guys that were cleaning the theater aware of the mess so it would be cleaned up for the next person. As I was waiting for my daughter outside of the bathrooms, one of the young men came and told me that they were well aware of the faulty, low quality, popcorn bags, and they have had to clean up huge messes on the armrests and chairs from the bags. All in all, I have to say, I am not impressed with your business and have no intention of returning, but I hope this inspires you and your team to try better for future customers. read more

I had heard that about this chain and decided to check it out. It is an interesting concept for a movie theater. First the theaters have recliners and what I like about this place over others that have recliners is that you can adjust the head rest which mad for more comfort as well. They also have movable trays at each seat and they are wide seats. They have moveable dividers that make you feel like you are in your own little world. The concessions is where things are interesting. When you buy drinks or popcorn you are given an empty cup or container. They a popcorn dispenser for you to fill the container and the drinks are near the theaters to fill the cup. The prices are slightly more than other theaters it is worth it if you can access refills. I thought it was a good experience and want to try it again and see how it goes. read more

I just discovered they finally opened this location. I remember the day I heard on the news ICON was taking over the old dollar theater on San Mateo. I thought man that would be cool. I've been to the Tramway location before and am familiar with the theater chain but because of how far of a commute it is for me, I found myself rarely going. It was nice to know there was one closer that I could go to. Walking up to the building it still reminded me of the old dollar theater. So many memories were had in that place. When I walked in it brought back all the memories. The way they laid out the building was nice. Very modern, and I think the lights I really liked design wise. I was a little hungry so I tried out the chili cheese fries. I'm not gonna lie. It was a little disappointing to see the portion size considering the price you pay. The theater was nice. The seats were recliner seats. My only complaint is the sound quality. At first the sound was great but midway through John Wick and it became muffled. I'm not sure if it was the speakers or the projector. It was very off putting and disappointing. Seemed like maybe they kept the old speakers from the dollar theater that might be going bad. I don't know. Honestly if it wasn't for the bad sound quality I would've given it 5 stars. ICON has always been a great entertainment value compared to its competitors. They offer unlimited refills regardless of the cup size, on soda, popcorn, butter, nacho cheese. The ticket price isn't half bad either. If we can get better sound quality it would be a superb theater! read more

So this is a tough one to write. I discovered Icon sometime last year. It may be weird to some, but I do go to the movies alone. I love movie theaters and the whole movie experience. I fell in love with this theater because of the comfortable recliner oversized seats and the privacy they provide. There really is no need to worry if you sit next to a stranger because they have foldable dividers to block out your periphery. It's great! Unfortunately in the last few months there have been several issues. One issue was the seats were not working. Management worked quick to resolve the issue mid movie. The latest issue has been the sound. First time the background music was diluted, but the audio for the speech was fine. Then the last time it was the opposite issue. The sound for the music was fine, but then you could barely hear the dialogue. Am I imaging things? Well, I took it upon myself to go to Icon on a Tuesday and Flix Brewhouse on a Wednesday to watch the same movie (yes I'm dedicated lol) and found that not only was the sound incredibly better at Flix, but so was the picture! The visuals at Icon were so dark. Some of the scenes were hard to see at Icon, yet at Flix there were zero issues. So now I'm watching a movie that's hard to see and the dialogue is difficult to hear at Icon, yet, at Flix Brewhouse - no problem. Same applies to Century Rio 24, but to be fair I did not watch the same movie back to back to compare. So lots of variables there. Anyway... I LOVE the movie theater experience. The seats and the food are extra perks - what I'm really going for is the picture and the audio quality. Unfortunately, something is going on at Icon where the audio and visuals are off. It's uncomfortable to go to management especially when they look at you like you're the problem and there is nothing wrong... With that said... Icon is great to watch movies especially on Tuesdays when tickets are $6.25. But, if you're big into movies like I am for visual and audio quality you may be disappointed with the inconsistencies at Icon. If you don't know: Icon & Century Rio 24 offer discounted movies on Tuesday and Flix Brewhouse offers them on Wednesday. read more

Wow wow wow wow. This theatre is amazing. Fantastic seating with comfortable electric recliners, trays for your drinks, and the head rests are adjustable. The projection was correctly calibrated, the sound was loud like a spectacle but not too loud. Went to see Guardians of the Galaxy 3 this afternoon. Prices were fantastic too, under $10 for the ticket. If movie exhibition is going to be saved, this is the way to do it. Kudos to who ever owns this chain. I will now only be seeing movies at Icon Cinemas. read more

I'm very much a creature of habit. I always go to Rio 24. Always! Tonight Icon had the movie I wanted to see playing at a better time than Rio. I reluctantly gave it a try. To my surprise it went great! No lines! Pour your own popcorn and pour your own butter! Excellent selection of candy, unlike Rio the last few times I've been there. The theaters are not huge. About the size of the smaller ones at Rio. I didn't mind. The seats recline and the headrest is adjustable. AND there's a tray with a drink holder for each seat. Loved it! There are these smallish dividers between each seat. I don't know if they are there because of COVID or not? Anyway that was my only complaint because it made it hard for me to whisper to my kids. Overall, not a dealbreaker. Just an observation. Check it out! I'll go back. read more

I had a really amazing experience with this location and the staff here. To start, the location is always clean, and I love the popcorn and soda fountains. It's not overwhelming like other theaters, and the tickets are very affordable. Next, I had seen the FNAF movie around the week it came out. I'm a die hard fan, and loved the poster they had for it outside. I had made an effort to call every so often to talk to a few different managers. I got in touch with both the poster and location manager, who were both very kind. They were generous enough to let me take the massive movie poster and a t shirt. I hadn't expected this to work, but everyone there was so incredible at helping me find out when the poster would be taken down and if it could be mine. I seriously love this location, and I think staff is all very sweet. If you want a cheap movie night, this is the place! Once again, many thanks to everyone here for allowing me to have this movie poster. read more

Came to a Friday matinee. Picked up tickets online, which was easy enough and fairly standard pricing, although the current website didn't provide as much info as I was hoping for (some broken links). The theater is at what used to be our old budget theater, and you can definitely recognized some of the same elements, which I think for me does filter my perspective slightly. They had food (e.g. hotdogs, nachos, candy) and self-serve fountain drinks & slushees but the bar license apparently is still in the works (looking forward to that piece). The theater rooms have been redone and I appreciated the reclining chairs, adjustable head rests, and even the privacy flaps on the chairs so that you don't see the person next to you (unless you want to :). The sound quality was good enough for me and it didn't seem like there were any seats with bad views. Overall, I am looking forward to seeing the final version of this theater. read more

Place is poorly run and very dirty. Check in for theatre with an online ticket is long and you have to go through concessions. Very dirty, trash was all over the floors and bags leaking in hallways outside theaters. No A/C in our theater was hot stuffy and smelled. Also can hear music and noise from other theaters. Overall for the prices go to century Rio. read more
