Kids are grouped roughly by age, and then work alongside adult mentors who help guide them through their projects or 'quests'. It's a really neat program and our child who is on the timid/shy side has really blossomed in this class that supports her love of creativity and learning while boosting her self esteem. She adores this class and the friends she's made there and can't wait to go every week. I highly recommend- and if you are interested in joining make sure you speak with the staff who can better explain the awesome ideas at play here- it's so much more than just a place to make things! So I waited over 1 year before reviewing Symbol Job training school…read more I have to say it was a really great place to learn an excellent foundation for the machinist industry. Paul was my shop teacher and he explained everything very well and I currently use it all on my job. I also like how they taught us a few side notes about finding the right job where you can learn and grow as a machinist. To date I am on my 4th job and here is why: 1st job was just an operator and they taught us to get into a place where you can learn instead of just making the same parts all day. The pay at $14/hour was OK so it was tempting to keep it but I'm glad I upgraded after 3 weeks. 2nd job was working on HAAS mills for $16/hour which is exactly what we learned on at Symbol so it was easy but I found it a little too easy. Just mass production and I also bought a house 1.5 hours away so I needed to change again after 4 months. 3rd job was where I really learned a lot. It was a small "Job Shop" with about 7 employees and we made very different parts all the time with tight tolerances. I made $15/hour here. We also had HAAS machines and used 4th axis turrets in them. They saw that I was a fast learner and I was ambitious to start learning Mastercam Programming and I got a good foundation in programming from that. Just like the instructors said, get the right job where you can learn. They got slow on work so I was laid off along with some others so I was only there for about 7 months. 4th job making $18/hour is setting up 5 axis machines making and mostly editing Mastercam programs to make adjustments in part dimensions although I need to take some of the online classes Mastercam offers for 5 Axis programming which is only $250/class but I want to push myself anyway. I see myself here for a while as it's an excellent skill to have with Mastercam AND 5 axis machines. Overall I got a much better foundation from Symbol than many of the other coworkers who either went to a different school or learned on the job. Obviously there is always more to learn and I don't know everything but Symbol got me started. Well worth the money. Get the right job where you can grow your skills and never stop learning.

I was able to take classes here during the COVID pandemic and it was great because you can take…read moreclasses remotely. The instructors are knowledgeable and are helpful. They send you a book for whichever class you are taking. You can even retake your classes. And depending on the teacher, the classes are recorded so you can re-watch them. I just wish it was not to the instructor's discretion to record. I wish all the classes could be recorded. However, most of my classes were able to be recorded. CTS is also WIOA verified, which helps with funding for classes if you are able to get unemployment insurance.

I know that my abilities have increased after the class. My only contention is that many/most people in the class had overestimated their abilities on excel. This is especially true for the advanced class. I was finished with an entire worksheet while I was waiting for most of the rest of the class to finish the first problem. Essentially, the teacher had no choice but to slow down to the pace of the slowest student while I was chomping at the bit to continue. That's certainly not a knock on the teacher or the education. However, a prerequisite aptitude evaluation would be something to consider.

One of our favorite aspects of Peace Montessori is the low child to teacher ratio; we know our child is able to receive more one on one attention than in other facilities we researched. Not only does Noorjahan create a learning environment in her home, but upon request, she has also provided resources for us as parents. It is apparent Noorjahan cares for the general well being of our child even when not in her direct care. If you look at the pass rate of this school for NCLEX-PN, it is BELOW the average passing rate in the state of Illinois and WAY BELOW the national average. No wonder this school is ON PROBATION. If I could, I'd give this place a million stars for the awesomeness that it is!…read more When considering preschool, I was so nervous about my little one who was at home till then, about transitioning, about developing as a person and whether the school I chose was in line with all I wanted. Messiah is perfect to a T. When my daughter started school, she had a hard time napping, the teachers rubbed her back, sang her a song, gave a hug. How wonderful! She said she loved how they treated her "with love" and helped transitioning a breeze. Every time I drop her off, I see her excitement and joy to be back there, and that speaks volumes! The teachers provide an "old school" feel, and it was exactly what I was looking for. By old school, I mean it in the best way possible, kind, patient, loving environment; not the sterile robot like environment of many schools nowadays. The activities change throughout the day, kids get to interact with others outside their classroom. I LOVE that they have a huge playground with plenty of safe, fenced area to play and explore. I think I have a super smart kid (as I'm sure all parents think) and Messiah challenges my child. She learns way more than even I thought possible. Not only learning, but building in a child the yearning to want to learn/read more. Super clean facility, healthy lunches, lots of learning mixed with play makes Messiah just an awesome place. I'm so thrilled I chose it and will continue with my daughter there through Kindergarten, as our school district only offers half day, where Messiah has full day Kindergarten/care combined.

He absolutely loves going, runs down the hallway in the morning and asks if he can go to school. The teachers are fantastic and very hands on. My son attends the preschool and extended care program as well. For the preschool morning, the parents receive an email of what they did that day. They spend plenty of time outdoors playing on their multiple playground, doing chalk and bubbles. During drop off and pick up, the teachers are sitting with the kids and play games/cars/toys with them. This is a huge difference compared to my child's other daycare he went to. In the past 3 months my son has rarely been sick. I think that has something to say on the cleanliness as well. I'd highly recommend to send your child here for preschool.
