Very slow online loan process. Requested an auto loan on Monday morning, was contacted by the loan officer late on Tuesday & submitted all necessary paperwork and then was informed of paperwork title/issue that they missed late in the day on Wednesday along with a DMV/Idaho law lesson. I canceled the approved loan on Thursday. It would have taken another week to fix the paperwork that I could have done on Tuesday. Nice and friendly employee. I'd recommended an in person loan application going forward. read more

This location is HUGE! I needed to make a deposit on a Friday afternoon and this branch was the nearest one to me. I expected it to be chaotic being that it was a Friday and it was the closest ICCU to the mall & freeway. While I'm sure they can get super busy, they were not when I arrived. I prefer to use the drive up teller. I like that ICCU uses screens so you can be "face to face" with the teller through video chat. This branch has a bunch of drive up teller bays. They had 2 per lane & had like 3 or 4 lanes. The drive up atm is located in the parking lot, but it's a stand alone drive up so it doesn't interfere with the drive up teller. The teller that helped me was very polite & helpful. She was very quick and efficient. I was on my way within just a couple of minutes. The parking lot has plenty of parking! I have literally zero complaints about ICCU. read more

The reason that I like ICCU is because of the brand. I don't bank at ICCU-- I bank with Mountain America Credit Union, but they have shared banking which allows me to go into ICCU, or use the ATM's, and do all my banking which is helpful ,especially when out of town, and both ICCU and MACU participate in this co-op. Back to the brand. ICCU is huge in Boise, they do a lot of hosting of teams, give back to the community, and invest in our community. So, even though I am not a customer as far as invesing my money in them, I am a customer of their locations and I live in the community in which they have a stake in and do things to help it grow. read more

I opened my account with ICCU at this branch and the gentleman I worked with (his name is slipping my mind) was incredible informative and helpful. Every time I've visited this branch, which is a lot because it's closet to my work, I'm impressed with the high level of customer service and friendliness. Never had a bad experience here! If I could give less then 1 star I would. I went in to apply for my first credit card, as I have been banking with ICCU for years. I was set up with Luis. He was the most uneducated loan officer and I was highly disappointed. He claimed I was a great candidate for the premier card and then I was rejected almost instantly. I have great great income and great credit, but he failed to ask questions concerning anything else. I feel as though a credit union should have people who are educated and know what questions to ask. Very disappointed in my home town credit union, they lost a long time banker. read more

Do not take out an auto loan through this credit union. We traded-in our vehicle the beginning of November at the same dealer we purchased the trade-in. It is now January 2018 and we are still receiving notices that we need to purchase insurance coverage for this vehicle or they WILL PURCHASE COVERAGE FOR US! The loan department apparently does not communicate with other departments. It makes me wonder about other aspects of this credit union. I will be closing our obligatory saving account and steering clear of this financial institution in the future. read more

My husband and me have been with Idaho Central Credit Union for a number of years, we've rarely had any issue with them and our banking has been handled smoothly. I had an occasion to discover just how on top of things they are in terms of keeping an eye on our accounts. I was at Walmart one day and had a phone call from a company identifying themselves as card services and saying they needed to speak with me regarding recent activity on my debit card. Because I received this message as a voicemail, I was suspicious-so I called a local branch of Idaho Central to confirm the phone number that called me was indeed related to credit union business, being told that it was I return the phone call the card services. I felt bad initially because the voicemail had asked that I be prepared to supply a file number which event in the voicemail, but because I was at Walmart I had nothing to write the file number on. The gentleman who answered the phone a card services was very understanding-even though I know that in that type of work it is quite frustrating when someone returned the call without the information they were asked to provide. It seems that the card tracking system had pinged on charges made on my debit card from both South Africa, and Canada within the last couple of hours. Since I was in Boise, and new no one who was either in South Africa or Canada, it was pretty plain that someone had gotten their hands on my debit card number. I confirmed the only activity that I had authorized on my card that day, and was told that the charges coming from outside United States had already been blocked, and that is a precaution against any others my debit card had been suspended. I was instructed to contact my local branch to arrange a new debit card. Thankfully I had enough cash on hand to complete my shopping at Walmart. And while I was there I did contact the local branch again, as I've been instructed to see what I had to do to get a new card. I was surprised to find that rather being forced to wait 7 to 10 days for a new debit card to be issued and mailed to me, that I could stop at the branch and they would create one for me right there. Since I was at the Walmart on Overland it was very convenient for me to stop at the Overland branch of the credit union to get a new card. Since it was Friday of Easter weekend, the branch was quite busy. When I got to the teller window I was pleasantly surprised to find that the employee there could help with my request, and within about 10 minutes I had my new debit card and was headed out the door. While this was indeed a bit of a scary situation, it serves to highlight just how much attention the credit union places on protecting its members. It's like car insurance, you very rarely have a use for it-but when you do you are completely amazed at how important it really is. I sincerely hope that no one reading this ever have to go through the experience of finding out your account has been compromised, but if you do it's a pretty safe bet that if you're thinking with Idaho Central, you're in good hands read more

I came to this location to pay my bill and was harrassed that my bill was overdue and my payment that was over the minimum would not suffice. The lady yelled at me about it until i told her thats all i could give at the time. I could not believe after all the other problems i have had that this is the treatment i got for paying my bill on time! I called customer service when i got home because i was so upset. They confirmed i was not overdue anything! What an awful way to treat a customer paying their bill and paying as much as they could at the time! read more

I have banked with ICCU for 13 years and while they are nice when you're depositing a check they are horrible to get a loan with. I have had a bad experience anytime I apply for a loan with them and I have HAD ENOUGH they were so bad to me this time I lost my car that I needed to finance and they upset a good friend that was willing to co-sign. First, I shouldn't have needed a co-signer; I have good credit, good income, low bills and hardly any debt. However, because I recently changed to an independent contractor from being an employee they would not accept my income and asked for a co-signer. I worked all day with a friend on the phone with 4 different loan officers to get financed on a modest used car with great car value ($2000 below KBB). Then once I had everything they wanted in a nice email to send. I had to talk to another new loan officer to get another email address to send them the information because the previous loan officer left at 2 pm. The new loan officer said she didn't need my information that I was denied and that it didn't matter that I had a co-signer. She said since I haven't been self-employed for 2 years it wouldn't matter that I had a co-signer. I also had significant non taxable income that was verifiable. They told me this at 4:30 pm and I called them at 9 am that morning to start this loan. I called the dealership to tell them I would get a loan somewhere else the next day and they said they had another buyer (because it was a GREAT DEAL) and I lost the car. I called my co-signer friend and she was pissed she spent a lot of time at her job that day to help me get qualified for this loan and they didn't even need the information. When I complained to management they did nothing about it. I won't be a member of this credit union anymore. None of the loan officers apologized when I complained about the services I was receiving. And I could tell when I talked to the manager that she is not going to do anything about it. Worst Bank Ever! They are too big for their britches. They can't give a modest worker a car loan. Every loan officer had a different thing they wanted to approve the loan. My friend was actually upset at me for wasting her time, which I understand. She was like, "if they didn't need all that information; why did they take it". It was a waste of everyone's time, loan officers, mine, hers, dealership, managers. I called them 8 times that day and waited on hold for 5 to 10 minutes every time to complete the application that never got completed. The manager's excuse was that it was a miscommunication? No, there was no miscommunication. They made a mistake in asking me for a co-signer when they couldn't approve me in the first place. She never said, "We could do (fill in the blank) to make it up to you". Also, I called them a month prior when I first began shopping for a car loan. The day before I decided on my car I called to make sure I had everything in order to get a loan. They just kept telling me to wait to apply until the deal was finalized with the dealership. They were my banks; I had been with them 13 years. I expected them to have my back. It was a collateral loan. Not only did they have a co-signer, but it was a stellar deal on at Toyota highlander in great shape. Easy to re-sell. I told them several times that I needed to speed up the process and talk to one officer or I was going to lose the car and the loan applicators did nothing to make it easier and kept giving me more hoops to jump through. They waited and waited to run my application and then denied me without even running the application. What a horrible experience. read more
