The owner Kenneth will allow you to dig fossils and garnets for extremely reasonable rates. He'll even give you basic instructions on digging techniques and fossil identification. Kenneth is extremely knowledgeable about the geography and history of the area. He's a very fair and friendly guy. Great family activity as the kids will not go home empty-handed. My wife and I had a great time digging for garnets with nothing but our bare hands and a butter knife. We still brought home far more than expected after only an hour or so. The employee said "oh that doesn't matter" when we told him the brakes didn't work. We got to the trailhead, the first bike I tested out had a faulty chain- the employee was very kind and told me the chain was not working properly. The second bike tires felt unstable. The third bike, the seat flipped up. Luckily we were not in the tunnel yet and I was able to turn around. The employee told me the seat was new and no one tightened it. We waited almost two hours for the shuttle bus. Half the time we were on the bus waiting. The bus driver made jokes about how we had to wait in a hot bus. They would not let us leave even though there was another bus and trailer that arrived 30 minutes before we actually left. I was met with sarcasm and was told I was not waiting as long as we had. When we went through the tunnel back to the trailhead, my daughter's back tire locked up and she went flying off her bike hitting the muddy hard tunnel floor. Luckily, she only busted her mouth open. My husband had to walk the bike back. The back tire was immovable. Not one employee looked at the bike. They seemed not to be concerned. Their first aid ice pack did not work and had no ice and no way to help us. Bring your own bike and a full first aid kit!

We stayed this last weekend at round lake with some friends and family. We rented three sites next…read moreto each other. As soon as we arrived the people in front of us quickly got stuck because of the boulders that are placed everywhere. The people that work there sat in the golf cart and proceeded to watch them for thirty minutes. My spouse had to help with 3 others to jiggle a boulder so they can gain an inch of room. The area where they ask you to put up tents on are white rock filled area next to our fire pit and picnic table. We were asked to not use the "ground" dirt to camp but did point out many tents using this. The rules are ridiculous, no hammocks , and if you are disabled and use a cane like I do good luck maneuvering around the unnecessary costly boulders that are not an improvement but a waste of cost. Never again will I or seventeen others visit again. Enjoy your boulders.

On the day of rental there was a small amount of paperwork to fill out then the dock crew gave us instructions on how to run the boat. Before you knew it we were out on the water. While we rented a pontoon boat they also rent jet skis, ski boats, paddle boards etc. I thought their pricing was reasonable. They do offer a small cash discount. Next to the boat rental shack is a restaurant and bar which was nice to have as an option for some food and drink. Overall our rental experience was very pleasant and the day out on the lake was very memorable. I would recommend this spot any time for rentals.
