While it's not brand new and shiny, Nampa Bowl is pretty well-kept and offers over 20 lanes of bowling, arcade games, and some better-than-average food. Nampa has a nice deal where you can get three games of bowling, shoe rental, and a soda for $9. The alley offers league play and has plenty of bowling balls in different sizes if you don't have your own ball. Different than other alleys I've seen, Nampa's score system offers multiple games to play, including low-ball scoring and even/odd frame challenges. It's a fun way to switch it up if you bowl a lot and are looking for a new challenge. I'd definitely go back here! read more

We were headed to Big ALS for their military weekly bowling but decided to try our friendly neighborhood bowling alley that we had yet to visit. I called ahead and asked if they would have lanes open to play on today. They informed me that they had lanes open for bowling until 5PM today. We arrived at 4:50PM for 2 hours of bowling. The bowling staff told us a tournament was beginning and that we had to wait until they were finished. He assured us it would be no more than 45 min. I tried not to be frustrated by the fact that we we're told it was open and available until 5PM. 45 min went by and lanes were opening. We we checked in again and we're told their were 10 people on a wait list! What?? And we can't play until the tournament was over. So 4pm comes and goes. And we finally left after wasting an hour sitting there. On the way out, the woman behind the counter was on the phone telling someone they had 5 open lanes to play on. Guess we weren't invited to use those after waiting patiently for an hour. Should have gone to Big ALS. ** After we left... we got a message that it was time to bowl! We were told 3:45pm. I'm so disappointed in the Nampa Bowl! I grew up in this area and went bowling there as a kid and as a young adult. You sometimes had to compete with the bowling leagues but you could usually still get a lane and do some bowling. Now days they are completely booked with league bowling. You can't even get a lane if you wanted to. They have Saturday night for open bowling and that's it. You'd think as the only bowling alley in town they'd want to still leave so open lanes for people that aren't in a league to come in and throw a few games, but it appears that that's not going to happen. Walked in on a Saturday and asked if there was an approximate wait time for 9 people and the person at the front desk was very rude and said "Ma'am I've only been here for 20 mins, how do I know?" I've been coming here since I was a kid. It hasn't been updated since the 90s I believe, and the food is terrible. But everytime I come back to visit my parents, we all have headed down to Nampa Bowl because there is no other option (I'm sure it won't be long though - Big Als in Nampa would kill it). We went tonight, on Tuesday during "Dollar Bowl". This is advertised in multiple places, for Tuesday night from 5pm-7pm. We took the kids, showed up, and the entire place was booked with league bowling. WHAT? Why have dollar night and then book league bowling? Was jimmy the intern put in charge of the schedule? Regardless, this was the last straw. I'm kind of glad, because each time I don't go there, my chance of not getting rickets or cholera decreases. read more

For about a year now, I have been bringing a special needs kid bowling here about once a week. They always know his food order, his shoe size, and his name. They make us feel like family. During the covid epidemic someone, other than the server, touched his food and they made him a new order without any problems. I really appreciate having them in our community. read more

Terrible terrible terrible experience! We bowled 3 frAmes before someone stopped me. I am a small woman who needs a smaller sized ball. I used a 9 pound ball and got told that I wasn't allowed. No signs saying a certain sized ball couldn't be used. Also the place was dead so I wasn't taking a ball from someone else. When I spoke to them about how I had bowled there recently for 3 hours with no issues, and see other people using the same size ball, the owner got upset and was super rude and told me I could just leave his establishment. Will never return! Not to mention the gentleman who told me I couldn't use my smaller ball decided to get in my personal space and touched me as he was telling me this. Hello, there's COVID!! A group of us stopped into Nampa Bowl on a Saturday afternoon. The lone car in the parking lot at that hour should have been a clue. The place was completely empty when we walked in, and the door was wide open with no signs indicating that they were closed for the day. The only employee there was in the lounge area, who rudely asked, "what are you doing here? We're closed today." I mentioned that there were no signs on the door indicating such. He replied, "we have a private party - I guess I should go put the signs out." That was it. He offered us no apologies or incentives to return. Not a very positive first impression, especially in today's crowded bowling competition with Big Al's and Wahooz. Thanks for giving us a reason not to return to your bowling alley again. read more

I've tried to go bowling 3-4 different throughout the week and weekend and unable to because they have league on every lane all during the week not a place you want to go if you want to just go have some fun and play some casual games I would rather drive to the next bowling alley that's 30 mins away then wasting my time going here just to realize that either it's reservation only or league has all the lanes. I visited Nampa Bowling Center to watch some friends in a bowling tournament. Due to this.. I cannot review their services in terms of renting shoes, or actually chucking a bowling ball down a lane.. however I CAN Tell you that there is adequate parking, the facility is neat and clean, the seating comfortable and the food from the 'snack bar' (more like a diner) is tasty and moderately priced. Nampa Bowling Center is easy to find, just off Caldwell Blvd, behind the Sizzler. Should I ever be seeking to actually 'rack em up and knock em down' Nampa Bowling Center would be on my list of places to go! read more

I moved here from Wisconsin 3 years ago and found myself on a league at Nampa. I dont see myself leaving the staff is friendly and always get you taken care of. Now they have jeff in the proshop. I got one ball from him and will get more. He also does lessons for adults. So if you have been bowling a while and your not improving or not very good. There are usually several lanes open at any given time. Lanes are always in good condition and don't seem to slope very much if at all. House balls are usually dinged up about like any other bowling alley, though they do get new ones in from time to time. Prices are very reasonable as well. The one complaint (?) is that I personally have problems operating the lane computer, since the controls are on a pole about 3-4 feet off the floor and the display is hung from the ceiling, so you have to look for corresponding colors on the control panel and the screen. Also, sometimes there is only one staff member working the front, so there's sometimes a wait to get shoes and to pay. read more

Went to Nampa bowl last night for my birthday which we have gone many times before and knew the manager there very nice older man very nice last night we went it was crowded good but it was crazy and there was lots of kids running on the lanes running around where we're trying to bowl the girls next to us which there were five young ladies next to us would not wait their turn laughing giggling saying things like what I'm racing you..I asked her not to race me just wait your turn,finally I had to go up to the desk and ask the manager to please talk to the girls,which he did and moved us to a lane over but wasn't at all nice about it..we paid for 3 games and in the middle of our third game and they shut off all lanes keeping my ball.. I asked him to please give back my ball and once again never acknowledge me..it's changed..it was not clean dirty drink glasses not picked up ..we had to pick up and clean it ourselves so we can use holders and tables..we won't be going back we will make the drive to meridian or boise. read more
