I don't even know where to begin as there are just so many things wrong with this gym. To be…read morehonest, I am completely unsure how the health department hasn't stepped in to address some of the more unsanitary issues I noticed. I was a member for only a couple of months. It's a bit deceptive with their marketing tactics of what they have to offer. Sure they offer a pool, hot tubs in the locker rooms, an indoor 'track' and more. What they fail to tell you is the list of things wrong with all they offer. STAFF: When I initially joined Advope, I had inquired about taking some initial measurements to track my progress. I was told they don't do that. I inquired about fitness / weight loss challenges and was told that they don't do them as there isn't much of a 'community' vibe and people just workout and leave. The girl even said she was leaving in two weeks and 'didn't mind being honest'. Basically, if you need anything that normal gyms offer that involves a staff member, don't bother. You're on your own. Fine, I can deal with that but there are bigger issues at hand. A couple weeks later I inquired about personal training. The male staff I spoke with handed me a flyer and told me to email him. Way to upsell! (Not). Potential sales opportunities lost. I took my personal training $$$ to another gym. Staff was rarely around and when they were, it was staff social hour at the front desk. Not at all helpful and I was often left wondering where management was. FACILITIES: I could spend forever going on about how outdated the equipment is. I'm pretty sure most of it is left over from Jane Fonda's workout days in the 80's-90's. And the 'track'?!?? It's no track. It's a path of carpet surrounding the weight room that is almost always blocked by teenagers or equipment not put away. Don't even bother. You can get better laps in running around the parking lot. The swimming pool is always cold and dirty. You can see numerous complaints about this on here and their FaceBook page so they are aware of the issue and do nothing about it. The cardio equipment has gunk built up in the crevices and you practically have to pound on the buttons to get them to work. Most disgusting of all are the hot tubs. They claim they clean them on a 'weekly' basis. However, in all of my visits I never even once saw the women's hot tub clean. It was dirty and murky and even had a distinctive odor to it. Staff even had notes about these things written on their clipboards hanging in plain sight at the front desk (see the pic I am uploading). So even after numerous complaints over several months and their own written documentation, they still do nothing to address the issues. Someone needs to get the health department involved. I could go on and on but your u get the point. Adcope is not a place to get healthy. It's a place to flashback to the 80's, chase staff around for answers, and potentially get sick from its unsanitary practices. Avoid it and save your money. There are much better options throughout the LC Valley. UPDATE: Soooo glad I asked for a copy of my cancellation form when I cancelled. They have attempted to charge me for ongoing membership in addition to fees etc 3 months after the original cancellation. Left messages for management to call me 2x. No response so I initiated charge backs via my bank. Per my bank, they have yet to even respond to those charge backs. This place is a joke and management is completely unresponsive.

This gym has gotten new equipment and is free if you are staying at the Red Lion next door.read more

The personal equipment, as well as the equipment supporting the entire tour, was of exceptional design, quality and maintenance. Meals cooked by the guides were creative, nutritious, and plentiful for hungry paddlers. The guides were extremely knowledgeable about the entire length of the river, which was greater than 100 miles. They know how to attack each obstacle to provide a high level of adventure while doing it safely. All of the staff were well educated and friendly. They all had an amazing general knowledge of botany, zoology, geography, and natural history. If an individual guide could not answer your question, they were quick to research it in their extensive library or consult other guides. This trip was a reunion for me in 17 of my West Point classmates. The guides did an amazing job of making it entertaining, enjoyable and memorable.

The food was great, the views amazing, the cellphone-free environment much appreciated. The best part? The company. The oars staff were friendly, highly-capable, and were the most entertaining part of the trip. I've never talked so much my whole life, but these guys were a hoot. We saw a few people get drunk, beligerant, and not wearing PFDs across the river one day. Some of the other river guide companies do not operate a tight ship. I'm so glad we went with OARS because my stress level was zero other than the rapids. The 5-day down the Snake River was perfect as you really get into the groove of rafting that 3rd day. I just wish I could have stayed on the river longer!

The day before putting in, Dave stopped by the motel where we were staying to give us an orientation and give us waterproof bags to pack before morning. He showed up promptly the next day to take us to the dam to get started. Meanwhile, Kate back at the office was a key member of the team, reaching out to me to ensure my dietary restrictions were accommodated in the menus for the trip. Dave and his guides were on top of the river conditions, stopping to scout the more challenging rapids and smoothly navigating all of them. Coffee and breakfast was ready to go when we came out of our tents (and the coffee was better than I expected on a camping trip). Every meal was very good and balanced - Dave and team went out of their way to ensure our satisfaction. Near the end of our trip, a couple guests strayed away and the guides went on their way to make sure everything was ok. Despite a one-hour delay to take-out because of this, Dave and his team took it in stride with smiles. I highly recommend Dave and idahoafloat.com for your Snake River trip.

A friend and I went by van ride up to the launch in Wallowa and went forward into the wilderness of the Blue mountains. This is geologically beautiful country with magical rock formations thronged by big horn sheep - we saw a group of 20 that entertained us across the river at camp. The fishing was fantastic. Half of the fish were around 14 inches up to right around 20 inches. These are highly capable broad-shouldered fish. Captain Grant, Captain Bobby, and First Mate Callen capably led our expedition. The well-trained and yet affectionate dogs put a cherry on top. Highly recommended. I effing love Oregon. They have a rail ride too.
