Nightmare! Stay away. They made a mistake processing my deposit payment and now owe me $5,000 to correct their mistake. They said they issued a credit to my credit card, but the credit card bank says they have no record of the refund and won't see it for 7-10 business days...if they issued it.! I was also told by their salesman that they pay 8% in credit card fees. THAT WAS A LIE! The GM, Adam Well, had no interest in making things right or concern for the customer, his comment was I get 30 days of float from the credit card company so I shouldn't worry about it. ***ATTENTION BUYERS*** I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at this dealership. I was verbally promised a 6.59% interest rate, only to later discover the paperwork had me locked in at 6.99%. When I returned to point out the issue, management refused to correct it or make it right. That small "oversight" didn't seem like much to him, but over the life of a loan it adds up to hundreds of dollars out of my pocket.This shows a serious lack of transparency and integrity. Got home and all weather mats were not in the trunk, called and informed not included? I included in the build but they refuse to provide. After several requests for my mats sales still refuse and treat me like a jerk. Purchased at MSRP. They are selling my trade for $5800.00 more than they gave me. Still refuse to provide my all weather mats (180.00 retail). I guess all the commercials with that polite young man are just production with an actor. I had an alignment check appointment. Arrived on- time, and was told it will be up to 1.5 hours of wait time. Asked Jim Millea what takes so long. He got aggressive asking which qualifications do I have to question their work. I asked Mark Frey- their service manager and was told that this is how they always operate to stay efficient. Essentially, making customers with appointments wait is their way to minimize risk of wasting their time. Sure enough, my truck was sitting outside for one 1 hour and 25 minutes. Work was completed in 15 minutes after that. So I waited for 1 hour and 40 minutes to get wheel alignment. In addition, rear wheel was off(printed in red), but they claimed, that wheel is in-spec. Color-blind? Ignorant? Mostly- arrogant. read more

I couldn't be happier with my car buying experience. I was very leery going into all of this as my last experience at a different dealership was very negative. But as soon as I meet Jeremy Vitale, I knew I was in good hands. He is knowledgeable, easy going, informative and helpful. He anticipated questions I didn't even know I had!!! I have had horrible experiences with the Service Department multiple times. This most recent time, I asked for an oil change and NYS Inspection and was charged for things to be done that I did not okay. My NYS inspection was not complete so I had to go back inside to have this completed. If I wouldn't have noticed that the sticker was the incorrect color, I would have not known it wasn't done. As a female, I feel I was taken advantage of due to my gender. I will never use this Service Department again and I will make sure none of my family do either. read more

Twelve years ago, my husband and I bought a brand new Honda Civic Si hatchback from John Holtz Honda in Henrietta. We had never bought a new car before, but it was a great deal - car that had been used as a test-drive car, one model-year old, very low miles, looked and smelled like new. We have been extremely happy with that purchase and are still driving that car today. Our relationship with Ide Honda started about 2 yrs after our purchase, when Holtz was not able to accommodate us for a routine maintenance visit. They were booked for weeks, so we ended up going to Ide. We have never looked back! I should tell you about how we feel about dealers and car maintenance. We are the types of people who need others to do the work. We live in an apartment and do not have a garage. We do not change our own oil, spark plugs, wiper blades or fluid, etc. We prefer to get genuine Honda parts and stick with the recommended maintenance schedule set by the dealer. When there is major work to be done (i.e., brakes, radiator repair, etc), we get our estimate, do some research and then take their word for it. We always get the used/broken parts after. Sometimes we go into the garage to see the actual problem before it is fixed. We have always felt that the team at Ide has our best interests in mind, and that they really care about us and our car. I have heard for YEARS from relatives (mostly male) who say we are wasting our money on 'genuine parts' and that we could get better deals going to the places that specialize in brakes or shocks, etc. But we disagree. Honda parts last. The repairs last. Sure, at this point, almost 200,000 miles and 12 years later we have had to repair all the big stuff, but that is par for the course when you keep a car that long. And the people go a long way. They always explain everything they have to do; if they car needs to stay longer while they order parts we get a loaner car - for free - for the duration; they always tell us if the repair could wait or what our options are (for example, last summer our air conditioning finally died. I got an estimate for the repair (whole system and lines were bad), and encouragement that it was not critical, would not impact the inspection, and was really up to me if I needed a/c to be comfortable driving the car.) I really appreciate this level of information, and in this case I chose not to get the work done. I trust the Ide team and feel that I get a tremendous value from their service department. read more

I had to get another key made, I called service, left a message, they called me back 1 hour later, switched me to parts to make sure they had it, Parts said yes, then switched me back to Service had to leave another message this was at 4 p.m., they are open till 7 p.m. no phone call until the next day at 10:10 with PENNY, I said why did it take you so long she said she had 80 messages she had to get back to and her bosses let her go early, so no one got phone calls back. WOW, a dealership that has no one picking up service calls. The I asked for the appointment they could not get program a key for 12 days,, YES 12 day!!! So if you buy a car you will not get service for 12 days there. WOW.. this was an easy program thing to do. AMAZING. I called Garber and have an appointment today. friendly. I scheduled an appointment here because I got a letter that the Accord I bought from another dealership almost a decade ago had a manufacturing recall related to a defective airbag that could kill someone (Come on, Honda!). Based on past experiences I have lost a lot of trust with dealerships when it comes to the maintenance side of things, so when I called the national Honda number from the letter, I had them set up the appointment at Ide Honda in order to avoid going somewhere else. The appointment took place at 0745, we bundled in the annual inspection, and everything went smoothly. Things I liked: -Very smooth operation. 0745 during the middle of the week is the perfect time to go there. -Friendly staff, and the guy who took care of me was great. He did a good job of making it clear that while my brakes could use some work (barely passed inspection) it wasn't the end of the world. I'll take it to a non dealer place for a second opinion, although the price they gave me for fixing it didn't seem unreasonable. -overall good waiting room experience. One of the other reviewers mentioned the difference between the experience here and the blaring TV and overall bad vibe at another place and I'd say that's spot-on. I didn't have any coffee or apples, but I appreciated that they were available, and the desk setup option was great for allowing me to get a nice study session in. One minor complaint is that the waiting room desks didn't seem to have light options to them, although I was still able to see everything and this was not a deal breaker. Another thing is that it would have been nice if the WiFi password had been posted somewhere out there so that I wouldn't have had to bug the front desk people. read more

The epitome of dishonest mechanics. They wanted to charge me $1200 to do a 90,000 mile service when I asked about replacing my car's timing belt and fuel pump. I asked if there was a less expensive option and the mechanic told me, "I don't know. No one has ever asked me that before." (Really? Everyone has just handed over a grand without question)? He also made it a point of telling me not to go to another mechanic because "the dealer is the only one who truly knows your car." (I drive a 2008 Civic. Not a Lamborghini, btw). So I took my car to my local mechanic. A few hours later they called and informed me my car had a timing chain, not a belt, and that it would outlast the motor. These Ide thieves were going to charge me $1200 for a fake repair. Shame! Shame! Shame! I will never go to this dealer for anything every again. read more

It took me over a week to get into Dick Ide to get my car serviced. My AC was leaking onto my floor. All covered under warranty but trying to call to get an update on the service impossible. I was told when I picked it up to take it someplace and get the carpets cleaned so they wouldn't smell. My Pilot is a 2022. I was shocked to hear this, Dick IDE has a detailing service. I have been a customer for over 30 years. When I called the service manager his only concern was why I get my routine oil change and service done some place else. The price of having them do the same work is double someplace else. I have extremely low mileage and take great care of my car. My grandchildren's car seats were taken out and thrown in the back. Today I noticed my steering wheel is missing a piece after i took it there. I don't think I will be buying any vehicles from Dick IDE Penfield anymore. Very troubling. read more

I bought a 2019 Honda CRV from IDE a few years ago. Great salesman, price, and my overall experience was outstanding. I went again this year to buy a 2021 for my daughter. The salesman, TJ, was great! The problem this year was the dealership's reluctance to deal with the price. I know that times have changed with the shortage of cars, but not dealing with a previous customer at all was very disappointing. I am pretty sure that TJ would have given us a better price if he could, but I think the 4 or 5 "sales managers" who sat around in the back office, were emboldened with their sellers market advantage and refused to bargain. The very first other Honda dealer I called had a bigger and better inventory and offered me the same car at a better price. I bought the car that day. I won't go to IDE again. read more

This dealership is a HUGE waste of time! After being referred by a co-worker I stopped here looking to lease a vehicle. I went in with all my research, vehicle prices, fair market numbers etc... I first met with Doug who was nice at the time. He gave us his card and told us to email him when we were ready to make a decision. We emailed him just to get back a very odd email asking for personal information and confusing me with another customer. We corrected him and asked about going ahead with a lease. We never heard back. I then inquired again through their text line hoping to be set up with a different salesperson. After telling her what vehicle I was interested in, I was given an insane number (More than one would pay for an Audi). I simply asked what the terms were and how it came to these numbers? I was given a rude reply and never heard back AGAIN.  Finally, I was referred to Julian from a friend. I went in to test drive a vehicle and he gave us his card since they were closing soon. When we didn't hear back, we started looking elsewhere, but still decided to email Julian inquiring about the vehicle in question. I had received another offer from a dealer in Buffalo. I shared that information as I would really like to stay local. Julian said numerous times he will share the numbers, but again, no reply. I sent one last email with what car I wanted, fair market price, and what I wanted my payments to be. He replied saying my "offer was very reasonable" and he will talk to a sales manager and let me know by the end of the day. 8 o'clock comes and goes and at 8:30 I received an email saying I should "Go to the other dealership and get the vehicle because its a killer deal" and "Due to inventory, we can't do anything." Keep in mind the vehicle in question has been on their lot for 6+ months!! How do they not want to make a deal? Never in my life have I witnessed a car dealer not wanting to work for customer ready to make a deal. Never in my life have I seen a car dealership not respond back to a SALE INQUIRY when their literal job is sales. I have never heard of a car dealer telling a potential customer to go elsewhere. This dealership has wasted 2 weeks of my time and I will make sure to tell all my friends and family to look elsewhere when shopping for a new Honda. read more

I used to wonder if my loyalty to Dick Ide Honda made me a nut. After all, a Honda Dealership is a Honda Dealership, right? Not according to my experience. My 11 year old Honda and I have seen the inside of a number of Honda service centers, and Dick Ide consistently sets itself apart. This dealership is actually filled by experienced people who think, find underlying causes instead of just treating symptoms, communicate everything to the customer, give well considered advice, and come across as advocates. Other Honda service centers put me on edge, and there's no assurance they'll fix the root problem. At these places, the customer service representatives frequently have a certain demeanor that activates my bunko-meter and makes me scheme about how I might plant myself in the service garage so that I can directly observe and supervise the maintenance. Of course, the typically stern and windowless waiting rooms, dominated by a shrieking television that drives all reasonable individuals into the showroom for refuge, does little to placate me. I'm so much more relaxed at Dick Ide. I've interacted with a number of their service representatives and find them pleasant, efficient and knowledgeable. They've never pressured me to approve their recommended maintenance, and they don't recommend absurd band-aid treatments. Their comfortable waiting room sits in the light-and-airy showroom, there's a kid's room off to the side, the television's volume is set to reasonable levels, and free coffee and wireless internet access is provided. I love their after-hours car-key-deposit-box, which lets me drop off my car the night before my scheduled appointment. They also offer a few loaner cars on a first-come-first-served basis, which are for use by customers whose own cars are being serviced (I've never taken advantage of this, so I can't comment on how well it works). I made my first appointment with Dick Ide after I began to suspect that my other Honda service center was trying to avoid me. The other place had indicated that they didn't like working on the aging innards of my car, but I didn't realize the implications until after two of my requests for routine maintenance were rebuffed by claims that that they had no available time slots to fit my schedule. The next time I called them, I tried to make an appointment to remedy a semi-serious mechanical problem and was told that the earliest open appointment was three weeks in the future. Dick Ide took me the next day, and I never called the other place again. Dick Ide also found a parking brake issue that 2 other places missed - and which was destroying both my rear brakes and my fuel economy. Full disclosure: my car isn't a gracefully aging beauty. It's not one of those frightful-looking beaters that gets a wide berth from other motorists (although the clearcoat is in the unattractively flaky process of fleeing the paint), but anyone interested in looking under the hood should have a strong stomach. This car has been driven exclusively in states that dump, pack, pound, scatter, and otherwise season the roadways with stupefying amounts of salt for nine months out of the year. The engine bay is a nearly solid chunk of iron oxide, and I know that it's absolutely beastly to work on. It doesn't surprise me that a dealership would try to avoid working on my car, but the fact that Dick Ide will work on it -without complaint and while treating me so well- makes them worthy of my respect. read more

Honda makes great cars, and Dick Ide has a great service center. Really though, the service department is phenomenal. My first car was a '95 Accord DX, nothing flashy and certainly nothing exciting. I was good about upkeep, following the maintenance schedule, replacing the oil at the proper intervals, and bringing the car in when I noticed strange behavior. What made me love my car was the care and attention I received from the people at Dick Ide. I had a couple age related issues (gremlins and tin worms worked their way in around year 13 of my car's life) and I had a couple big repairs as a result. Whenever I had to bring my car in, I was always treated promptly and confidently. Jim, the guy I worked with most, was like my general practitioner. He would always answer my calls and walk me through any issues the mechanic observed with my vehicle. He would even point out potential issues that may effect my car in the future. The biggest thing about Dick Ide is that they inspire confidence. Not once did I feel swindled or cheated. The work was always done with an expert touch and promptly. I was never without a car for longer than 36 hours. While I think Honda cars are a bit boring, I would buy another simply because Dick Ide was such a pleasure to deal with. They sold me on their service, and I'd buy a car just to get it. I've put off buying old BMWs and Alfas simply because I don't know of any dealership or mechanic that could provide me with the experience I had with Dick Ide. read more

We received excellent customer service and our buying experience was stress-free and totally transparent. (By "transparent," I mean the price was communicated up-front with no hidden charges. We were even allowed to see the paperwork documenting the amount for which Ide had purchased the vehicle from its prior owner, which, in addition to the independent research we'd already done on the vehicle's value, further demonstrated to us what a good price we were getting.) Bought our first Honda ever. We've been rolling in a 2008 Sienna and needed an upgrade. After visiting Vision Kia and Hoselton Toyota I was pleasantly surprised by Ide Honda. Haven't ever stepped foot in an Ide dealer until this week. The showroom was impressive and clean. Everyone we met with was polite and professional. We worked with Alex in sales to look at the Odyssey. This guy was knowledgable and able to earn our trust quickly. That's a difficult task when selling cars and he did it. Ken in finance department was also equally professional and knowledgable. He patiently answered our questions and was willing to spend as much time as we needed to go over all our finance options. If you're looking for a new van I would say Ide Honda is a must visit. We also visited Vision KIA which was a 180 from Ide. Hoselton Toyota was good as well, but just didn't get the same trust factor as we did with Alex at Ide. read more

The other day I took my car in for service. Soon afterwards I was e-mailed by Sirius XM radio. I was shocked that they contacted me after I was told a year ago that they would not contact me again. They were constantly calling me at all hours of the day, and a e-mail just about every day. I had a almost impossible time to get them to stop. It has been confirmed to me that the service department decided it would be I good idea to give them my e-mail address so they could start bothering me all over again. What is really interesting to me is that their privacy policy and their website both say that is not the type of place they share your information with. I had a couple of time to speak to Mr Ide, but he just had the service manager call me. He seemed really annoyed with me and will no longer respond to my e-mails. I find this whole ordeal do be a beaking of the trust I had with them to safeguard my information. read more

DO NOT GO HERE FOR SERVICE. While getting my car inspected last September, I was told that I needed new tires. I spent 6 hours at the dealership waiting for the tires to be delivered and was not able to obtain a loaner car for the day. Strangely enough, the young female that checked in at the desk after me was able to get a loaner car without even asking. When they were finally done with the new tires, I got in my car to drive home but had to turn around and go back to the dealership because they were not balanced properly and the car was shaking so badly it was difficult to drive. In December, I noticed that one of the new tires was leaking so I brought it back to be checked out. The wheel was remounted and I was on my way after about 2 hours at the dealership. About a month later, I noticed that it was leaking again. I went to fill it with air and saw that they MOUNTED THE TIRE BACKWARDS! The rotation arrow was pointing backwards on a directional tire which you would think would be common sense for a service professional to check before returning it to the customer. This led to another phone call and a trip back to the dealer to have this fixed. While on the phone, I told the service person that I need to be at work by 10:00 and they said that there would be no issues with timing if I arrived for an 8:00 appointment. I got there at 8:00 and reminded the service person that it takes 20 minutes to get to work and that I needed to be there by 10. After multiple reminders and check-ins, I finally got the car back at 9:55 and was late for a meeting. Here is the real kicker... I submitted a customer complaint outlining this track record of frustrations and mistakes and informed them that I would no longer be using their services except for the free oil changes that came with the car. I got a call back a few hours later from Mark Frey, who said that "this wasn't the first time, and surely won't be the last time that a tire is mounted backwards" and that "things like this happen from time to time". He offered to have someone take another look at it, but I told him that based on his last comment, I do not trust anyone there to work on my car. His response was to keep an eye on the tire and have a nice day. Moral of the story: If you care about quality service and value your time, DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE. read more

I will NEVER go back to this Dealer Ship. I brought my 99 Accord in for a head light replacement and a problem with my breaks. I explained to them that my break freeze up when my car has been sitting in the cold weather over night or a long period of time. They told me that the break just needed to be clean. I told them that I have already cleaned it TWICE one from another Honda Dealership and the other from a independent mechanic within the past year and it DID NOT help. They assure me that cleaning it (again) will fix the problem. I walked away with a bill of $183.74 The next morning...ta-da my break FREEZE up (AGAIN) same problem and I had a mini heart attack steering my car out of the parking lot without hitting anyone. I was furious. I called the dealer when I got to work. After I explained what had happen the guy that helped me told me he cleaned the break and did what he told me he would do. "Yes, but I told you on the spot that I have had my break clean twice and that didn't help" I responded to him. Ignoring what I said, He insisted that he fixed the problem and no way I should have any problem. I asked if he suggesting that I just made up driving my car without a break this morning just for fun. He respond with "well I cleaned your break and I don't really like your tone right now" I asked him to go drive a car with a nonfunctional break after the mechanic insisted that it is 'fixed' and then see if his tone is any better than mine. After half an hour of talking him I finally asked well is there anything he can do? He said no. Then offered that he could take a look at it again. I asked if I will get charge for it he said YES. Couldn't believe my ears I asked him " You expect me to pay you to look at my car again after I have already paid 180 for you to fix my break that DIDN'T get fix?" He respond "YES" I told him Thank You and hang up. Later, I tried to contact a manager because I did not want to deal with this non responsive or in anyway helpful man. First they told me the manager was out to lunch, then away from his desk then finally after the third call they transfered me to THE SAME GUY I spoke to in the morning say that he will be able to help me with my problem. Ignoring my protest "No I already spoke to h..i..m....*transfered*" Refused to back down, I brought my car back to the dealership and once again have to deal with this same guy. I wanted to strangle myself. He took my car drove it around and said "I don't see a problem with your breaks." Resiting the urge of saying "DUH" I took a deep breath and explain to him " Of course not, it only happen when it has been sitting in the cold i.e this morning" He offered to resurface the rotor to fix the problem and my boyfriend, a PhD in engineering pointed out to him that rotor surface has nothing to do with this problem. He was slightly embarrass after being called out. I ended up leaving my car there over night with the promise it will be done tomorrow morning. I arrived at noon on Saturday and was told that they hasn't have a chance to 'get to me yet'. I went into the show room and checking out the new civic. One of the sale man approach me and start asking question. He goes on and on about how I should buy the car from here because they offer a life time service and oil change etc. I explained to him that I didn't have a great experience with the service department and would not go back again. I then explain the details of what had happen. He said he would see if he can do something to help. He went into the service area talk to a couple of people and VOILA my car was ready in an hour. I didn't pay anything and got an half 'excuse my French' @$$ answer of my break wasn't properly set in its holder or something. I left not very satisfying. I understand that car mechanic is complicated and sometime you can't fix it right away but refusing to take responsibility and being unhelpful and rude to customer is not a way to get customer to come back. Also I didn't like it that my car only get done because they think they can get me to buy a car there. Bottom line, I would not recommend this place. Go but beware of their scheme, high pricing and if something go wrong, don't give your hope up that they would fix it. Go to a local mechanic. read more

I was very sorry to hear the owner of the business (Mr. Ide) whining about his charity effort being "punished" Mr. Ide, if they had simply done the job correctly or said they were sorry instead of making lame excuses I would not have felt the need to publish a complaint. Please re-read my letter on Yelp and let me know if there was any statement that was incorrect or untrue. As I won two (2) oil changes, I was going to rewrite the review after the second oil change. Now I see that you are not the man your father was. It explains why your G.M. was rude when I called, and your service manager he made excuses for a "botched oil change." I will continue to support children's charities. Its no surprise that you won't after hearing you "blame" others. Grow up. read more

My sister needed a new car asap. We went to Ide Honda to look around and while we saw MANY employees inside and out. Unbelievably so , not one person came over to assist us and we were there for quite a while checking out cars on the lot. Maybe everyone was busy at the time. We left and went to Ralph Honda where a salesman came right out and was extremely helpful. My sister ended up buying a new Honda civic from Ralph Honda. Note to Ide Honda: customer service can make or break you . You guys lost a sell that day and will never have a chance again, EVER! read more

Well, the salespeople were good, and we got a good deal, but the service department is just short of awful. They are never ready at the time you are scheduled, and more than once, they let a dumb mistake out the door (like the time they mounted 3 of our directional tires backwards). Don't go for any of their specials (oil change, snow tire storage, etc.); you can do better and cheaper just about anywhere. read more
