I had the most amazing customer service experience today from Mike and Stephen. When my son got the oil changed at a different place, they told him the car needed a battery. We wanted to get a second opinion, and it's a good thing we did! Not only do we need a battery, we also need a starter. Bottom line, replacing the battery alone would not have solved the problem. Mike and Steve went above and beyond to find a starter from a different vendor, since they didn't carry it. They also referred me to someone who installs these parts, to make my life easier. I needed to get a new battery for my minivan. Advance Auto Parts had it in stock. I bought it online (with an online coupon) and then picked it up at the Penfield location. This store used to be better. The only reason I am giving it 1 stat at all was because of Nadine, she was extremely helpful and appeared to be the only one working. More than once she paged her coworker for help, when he eventually showed up he was so rude to her and myself it made me uncomfortable. Stopped in Advance Auto Parts this afternoon to have my car battery tested. The associate went out and performed the free test explaining the results very clearly. He provided two options, 1. They would charge the battery free of charge to confirm the test results or 2. Help pick out a new battery. He pointed out I would save 20% by ordering online. I ordered the battery online and found a 30% discount code with Google. Will definitely shop at Advanced Auto Parts again. read more

If I could give no stars I would this place is a joke every time I go in there there's nobody at the counter you can hear him in the back room banging around talk and talk and talk and you stand at the counter and wait there's no Bell to Ring to get their attention. And then when they do come out they kind of ignore you and walk around like you're not even standing there. So I went to their competitor and got what I needed. read more

I'm a long time fan of AAP. Better parts and selection than their direct competitors, better sale prices too in my opinion. This store is garbage. Consistently poor customer service from employees with attitude issues. I've watched them take shots (verbal, of course) at customers in the parking lot and converse with each other about plans rather than do anything work related. Requests for assistance are met with eye rolls. Store is not properly organized/stocked like most AAP locations. AAP corporate failed to even reply to a notification about the operating procedure at this store which is, of course, their right. It's then my right to choose whether or not to shop at their stores any more. Their competitors (which are plentiful 10 minutes in any direction) are getting a lot more of my business. Penfield deserves better. read more

Since I am not familiar with what I needed and what would be a fair price, Emily found everything. She explained all of my options and price ranges, with honest encouragement helped me select the brakes and rotors I needed for my car. She was friendly, professional and courteous.
