If only I could give a zero star - god I hate this place. Horrible customer service. Have existing accounts and tried to open a high yield checking - using the ideal app process didn't work, - call to customer service was at least a 25 minute wait, - agent couldn't help and when we tried to open the account I was asked all sorts of questions about my employment / employer. This wasn't a loan application, it was for a personal checking account. Information about my employer is irrelevant and none of their business. Not to mention that I'm already a customer... It also seems that a bank "concerned" about their customers would (1) not create separate "high yield" and "no yield" accounts - how extremely manipulative and discriminatory, and (2) would have already looked at my account balances and reached out to me to move funds into accounts that were paying more interest. Instead, I had to learn about this product on a billboard I've already steered other customers away and it seems going back to a big national bank is in the near future for myself as well.... read more

We had a custom toy hauler financed by ICU. Lets just say we immediately refinanced with Truist with an even lower rate. They never sent me a year end interest statement and when I called and asked for a copy they advised it would be $6. This credit union is a joke. You cannot pay off principle if you want to ahead of time. They just keep putting your extra money toward the next monthly payment. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME with this credit union. I've banked with Ideal Credit Union since it was the St. Paul Postal Credit Union and have always had excellent service provided. I want to particularly name Elvira G. as an exceptional employee. She has always been courteous and personable. I believe she goes above and beyond to make you feel like you are an important member at this credit union. Have to say I've never taken a loan out from here, so I can't speak to that matter. read more

This is the first time I've seen a credit union like this. It feels like a private loan shark. They never compromise with individuals. When you take out a loan, there are times when your financial situation is not good. For example, you may have to pay hospital bills or your income may have decreased due to illness. If you miss a loan payment due to such reasons, they will never compromise. There are many better companies. Don't waste your time here. read more

They have become a pathetic credit Union since switching their name to ideal. When you try to deposit checks with them, they will put them on hold. Even though you have been banking with them for 20 plus years and cashing the same checks for 10 plus years. I would recommend putting your money in a real bank before they run out of money. read more

I have a password on my account and today was the 2nd time the teller did not request my password. This is a breech of trust and is a scary occurrence if you're trying to secure your money. The manager was more upset that I came in to complain and defended the teller's manager over my complaint. If you don't have any concern about the security of your money, then this won't be a problem for you. read more

first they messed up my car title, only took 5 months to fix. now for the 2nd time this year my account was hacked money stole, went in 1 time to fill out the fraud forms, employees don't know what they are doing, going back today to fix there mistakes. (on my dime of course) Been with them over 10 years. not any more chose a different bank. read more

Not only is the worst bank I've ever used, its probably the worst customer service I've ever encountered. You'll love the accidental Debit/Credit card declines, you'll also love calling their card services center multiple times for simple requests. Also, if you have a credit score in the 800+ range, you'll be able to apply for 48 month car loans at 3.0%, awesome! The possibilities for screwing up your credit, finances and inconveniencing your life are endless. Get in there and give these guys a shot!! read more

This used to be a good credit union but over the years it's gone downhill. They've tried to automate everything in the bank resulting in poor, SLOW customer service. They've cut their hours, and employees seem poorly trained on anything other than the most routine transactions (such as how to set up beneficiaries for accounts). Used to be able to reach someone on the phone quickly, now takes 15 min. on hold to reach someone. Interest rates paid are low compared to other local CUs. Many better local options for CUs, would not recommend this one. read more
