I've been interested in getting laser hair removal for awhile, but I was scared due to heating the pain that you have to endure. After going back and forth with someone at Ideal Image online, I finally worked up the nerve to do a consultation. Everything went well and I was scheduled within that week. When I arrived, I was greeted promptly by the receptionist. I didn't wait long to see a nurse and she was very kind. She explained the procedure and the before and aftercare needed. I asked if I could record the procedure and was advised that they don't allow it. I was still a bit scared, but ready to get the process started (I signed up for 16 months off treatment, going every 6 weeks). The nurse started on my cheek and it's exactly how others described it. It's like a rubber band snapping you, but one that's on fire. My cheeks and jawline were very sensitive, but my neck area wasn't an issue. The nurse did ask if I needed to take a break, but I advised her to continue on. Once the procedure was shoved, the nurse soothed my face with aloe. I was in and out within 30 minutes. I look forward to my next appointment and hopefully soon I can add some type of numbing cream. read more

I was supposed to have an appointment on August 19th but they sent me an email saying the nurse would not be available and asking me to reschedule for a different day. So I rescheduled my appointment for the 29th of August at 5:20 PM. I showed up on the 29th at 5:10 PM and noticed that the door was locked and the open sign was off. I was so pissed that I got no email or phone call that they canceled my appointment. The next day, I even got an email saying that I missed the appointment and they would help waive the $50 charge for the show fee. Today, I just notice that they suddenly put me on an appointment without letting me know and I can't cancel it because it's within 24hrs so I might have to pay $50 for an appointment that I didn't even make. I have been called the customer service for 3 days in a row and no one picked up the phone. Until I pretended calling to ask for a consultation then they picked up my call right away. The customer presentative was nice when persuading me to get new services but then she cut me right off when I asked for her assistance in other inquiries. I initially signed up for bikini and underarm area in 2019 and I was so impressed by the staff, cleanliness of the facility, and the ease of treatment that I elected to splurge and sign another contract and add on my lower legs (back and front) in early 2020. I remained pleased with my interactions with staff and the ease of treatment, I didn't experience much pain during or afterwards and I was pleased with the results I was seeing. I became a bit frustrated by the long wait periods for appointments. I was told they were soon to be short staffed soon after I began my appointments and eventually things just became backed up and they would tell me to return in 6-8 weeks and book me for 12 weeks or longer out each time. Then I would be told when leaving appointments that instead of scheduling I should call in the future and see what was open as they couldn't book me in any available slots due to the schedule they had available and that in "x" amount of time a new schedule would be posted and I could try to get in then. This meant I went months (anywhere from 3-6) between appointments more often than not. Like a previous reviewer said, if you had to reschedule like I did a couple of times you were going to wait a while longer. But I paid so I dealt with it. Then Covid hit and I had barely any appointments after that for nearly a year. I had to call to get myself on when I realized they were open again and the same pattern persisted for having trouble getting scheduled. As of today (December 2021) I have had 3 treatments on my legs and 6 on bikini and underarms. I was scheduled in a couple of days for my next appointment and I received a call saying they wanted to confirm the areas being treated and asked me if I was aware of the touch up fee. I was then told that my contracts ended in October 2020 and May 2021 and so I needed to pay a touch up fee for my treatment. My last treatment was June 2021 (well past my apparent contract end date for both) and it had never been mentioned, I assumed my contract time period would be extended due to Covid. I mentioned this to the woman I was speaking to and she told me in a very matter of fact tone that they had "been open since May" and offered to cancel the appointment. After reviewing my calendar and scheduled appointments I found that my initial contract which they reported ended in Oct. 2020 means I received only 4 sessions within the contract period (of the estimated 9). My second contract which reportedly ended May 2021 only allotted me 3 treatments within that time period (of the estimated 9). Drastically different numbers from what I was quoted during my consultation and from what was recommended during treatment (every 6-8 weeks). I initially made allowances for how long it took for scheduling due to short staffing and then Covid, but apparently Ideal Image did not do the same. I will note that I was treated 2 more times for the initial contract ending in October 2020 without anyone mentioning to me that the contract had been up, which is why I assumed Covid was being taken into consideration. In the end it's a numbers game. If the unlimited contract is 16 months for an estimated 9 sessions and you are only able to get 3 or 4 treatments in that time frame, you will not see the results they are promising without extensive time and money later in touch up fees just to complete an initial course of treatment. I have reached out to customer service, and I will update this review should anything change after my interactions with them. Although looking at their interactions with other reviewers sharing the same grievances I don't expect much. At this time I cannot recommend Ideal Image, for me it has been an enormous waste of money for ultimately disappointing results due to lack of treatment despite my initial impression. read more

Well three years later, and it's been completely pointless. Still have to shave all the time.. and no, it's not just a few hairs.. (sorry for tmi) but it's a bush. I wish someone would've told me, so here I am telling you DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY and go through all that pain. Also, I was told by a regional manager to not worry because they'll just give me complimentary until it's gone because there was still so much hair.. and now they want to charge $90 for a "touch up." It's not considered a touch up if all the hair is still there. I'd just assume to go back to waxing. (Also for extra input I didn't tan there either. This is honestly one of the most horrid companies you could ever possibly give your money to. To use the standard Yelp cliché, if I could give them zero stars I would. The entire company is a SCAM and the customer service is dismal. It's almost laughable how much they charge you for services that they largely have a monopoly on especially if you are a brown girl trying to get laser hair removal. Their contracts are predatory and they operate under the rule that the PAYING customer comes last. It is nearly impossible to get an appointment and when you want to get in contact with someone I think their tactic is to drive you insane with endless call center mishaps (hanging up on you) to deter you from holding them accountable. I have given them thousands of dollars only to be treated horribly and at MY own expense. I feel like a fool for paying to be sent on a wild goose chase and heckled out of MORE money. They bait you and snare you into their predatory contracts that only allow for a set amount of months of treatment and then never schedule you for an appointment or cancel the appointments you manage to snatch so your contract runs out and you end up paying out of pocket "touch up fees". The treatments are already expensive and painful but on top of that this company is a straight up joke. They don't care about the customer or their employees that they reprimand and fine for trying to help costumers. I used to recommend them because it was one of the few places that actually offered the type of laser needed to get treatments for darker skinned people but now I am embarrassed to say that I even went there. I have hyperpigmentation that I NEVER had before and the hair growth has worsened in some places. The experience turned sour faster then my hair could disappear PROBABLY BECAUSE I WASN'T GETTING SEEN ENOUGH TO SEE PROGRESS. It's TERRIBLE. Prior to Covid, I signed their contract for Laser Hair Removal. My terrible review isn't even for the woman who pressured me to sign a contract I barely was given time to fully read, but it's for being taken advantage of during Covid and their inability to carry out their contract. If I was able to carry out treatments every 6-10 weeks as recommended in their contract, maybe I wouldn't feel so taken advantage of. According to your contract, you can book unlimited sessions during your 16 month contract and they recommend treatments every 6 - 10 weeks. However, what they don't disclose is that they have an extremely high turnover rate and never have availability within the recommended 6-10 weeks. When the shutdown happened in 2020, right after my 1st treatment, I was rescheduled, along with everyone else. Some of my treatments were 13-14 weeks apart due to unavailability of THEIR staff. During Covid when I inquired about the timeline and my concern with my treatments being so far apart, multiple nurses assured me that they would take care of me and all the people who were in the middle of their contracts during Covid. I was even told by MULTIPLE nurses and front desk staff that I had 2 extra treatments added due to Covid. When I inquired at one of my appointments of how that promise would be tracked and how I could make sure it would be honored, I was told by the nurse and the front desk staff to not worry and that they ensured me it was in my chart. Now, 2 days before my next appointment, I'm being told that my 16 months is up, and I have to pay if I want to continue my treatments. When I explained that after my last treatment my nurse told me I still had THREE additional treatments left, the woman on the phone told me that my nurse was mistaken and that it doesn't matter because my 16 months was up. What a scam. A business that informed me I would for sure be taken care of due to Covid happening during my treatments has completely gone back on their word. On top of it all, their machine is extremely painful and despite having pale skin and dark skin which I was told was the best combo for their machines for hair removal, I still have quite a bit of hair growth. Long story short they tried to comp me with partial credits towards services other than what I initially paid for. I'm not settling. If you want something done you gotta go above the person who can't do anything. After bad communication and several strongly worded emails a very kind, compassionate and respectful ideal image representative named Margaret Powers was able to resolve my issue and keep the initial promise made to me without passive aggressive attitude. I feel like today was the last day I will go to Ideal Image. Having been someone who has always come back to Ideal Image every time I have moved back into the area, I will now look into other businesses for laser hair removal. I have lifetime contracts and today was the first day that such a small area was treated (I was told "That was what I paid for.") with me leaving having errant hairs slightly outside that small area that have always been lasered before left behind. When I say always, I mean always. When did the area become so small? It wasn't even marked off on my face. I left completely unsatisfied and that is fine. They take thousands of dollars from you, cannot ever get you scheduled, when you do get scheduled they will cancel/move your appointment date and time without your consent or knowledge. They also claim you will be HAIRLESS and at the end of your treatment when you're not satisfied with still having a lot of hair, and it actually being WORSE than before, they claim they try to only achieve 90% hair loss. I signed a contract with Ideal Image for laser hair removal appointments in August of last year. In the seven months, the laser hair removal location listed was only been able to see me one time, rendering it impossible for me to receive my recommended nine appointments within the sixteen months of my contract. I have never missed a scheduled appointment, but on three different occasions had scheduled appointments cancelled. I paid Ideal Image in full and on time every month despite not receiving services. Last time I spoke with them, the nurse informed me that my legs had been done so long ago that their treatment would be rendered completely ineffective, and I would need to start that area over entirely with only 9 months left on the contract. In light of this situation, I asked for a full refund (about $4,000) from Ideal Image for complete failure to deliver the service promised. I was able to receive a partial refund and be released from my contract with them, but am still out about $900 due to language that is not in the contract itself and you have to follow multiple links to get to that states that for ONE SINGLE COMPLETELY UNSATISFACTORY treatment, you are out 20% of your total cost. This is due to an EXTRAORDINARILY predatory pricing model where while you're given "9" treatments, the first 5 are paid and the following 4 are free, so even if they only complete HALF of the treatments you are promised, there is hidden language that allows them to keep ALL of your money. I cannot overstate how dissatisfied I am with this company. I will never do business with them again. I strongly recommend NO ONE does business with them. I am out $900 for absolutely NOTHING other than pain, stress, time, and frustration. I have learned my lesson about assuming that they are a prominent national chain there is any baseline standard of service there. Ideal Image has demonstrated that it is a large-scale money for nothing scam that overschedules its employees and gleefully and intentionally locks its customers into expensive contracts with ABSOLUTELY NO INTENTION of following through on services promised. Long story short - I paid an $800 deposit and an installment payment of $350.00. I had 4 appointments scheduled. The company canceled 3 times!!! Never performed services, but continue to draft my account. I requested them to stop drafting my account and provide a refund in order to stop the cycle of (make appointment, they cancel, I reschedule, they cancel again). They have refused to stop drafting my account and have ignored my request for refund although, no services have ever been performed. Now, Michelle has all of the staff in the office blocking my calls and she is ignoring me. . July 5, 2020 - I had a consultation about several services through this company (cool sculpting and laser hair removal) with Rose Mayo. July 9,2020 - I decided to go forward and purchase the bundle. . I paid an $800 deposit. My transaction reference number was TRX-004509726. Excited, I wanted to immediately get services scheduled. The following week (July 13, 2020) I was able to get my 1st appointment booked. I was told the first available was September 3, 2020. I hated that it was so far away, but booked the appointment and received a confirmation email and text. Two days later (July 15, 2020), I was able to book a different service for August 5, 2020. The following week I get a call that some openings came available and I could come in sooner. So my appointments were rescheduled for July 31, 2020 and August 13 & 14 (respectively) Therefore the August 5 and September 3 appointments were canceled because they would be too close together. On July 31, 2020 I get a call a few hours before my appointment that the company needed to cancel unexpectedly and to call back the next day. I called back the next day and was told they would call me the next week if something opened up. August 1, my account is charged $350 as a first installment payment. I never get a call that week about a new opening. I call them on August 12 to confirm my August 13 and 14 appointments. Once again they call me and cancel my appointments. I'm livid. They have canceled all my appointments. I have received no services!!! and they continue to take money from my account. On August 17, 2020 I talk to the supposed supervisor for the location, Michelle. I tell her the issues, which she is already aware of because she is the one that would call me each time and cancel. I told her to cancel my installment plan and refund me the money, because I HAVEN'T RECEIVED any services!!!! She says she would cancel any further drafts and contact her supervisor about the refund and let me know - as it's not the policy to refund. She never called me back. September 3, 2020 - My account is drafted $350.00 again. September 3 - 25, 2020, I reach out to the company several times, but Michelle refuses to take my calls or call me back I understand a no refund policy, especially after a person has received services. BUT THEY HAVE NOT DELIVERED ANY SERVICES - IDEAL IMAGE IS STEALING MONEY FROM ME! I should receive a refund of the $1500 taken from me immediately! I had my first ever treatment for LHR on my underarms here. The staff was super-friendly, and the consultant that I saw, Jessica Brown, was very nice and knowledgeable. All of the staff are medical professionals which was definitely a plus, and I felt like I was sin good hands. The atmosphere was like a mixture between a doctor's office and a spa, very clean and relaxed. I'm giving them four stars for now, because I've obviously just had the treatment done, and won't see any results for a few weeks. I have no knowledge of the pricing for these things, but luckily came into the office during a promotion. It was still very expensive in my opinion (again, I don't know how much LHR normally costs so it could be cheap, idk), but I'm hoping it will be worth it! As far as the pain, I'd say about an 8, and I like to think I have a VERY high tolerance for pain. Numbing cream is not available for the first session, but you are able to purchase it for your remaining sessions. Needless to say I did not receive the call, and was hoping to have the procedure done quickly as I was overdue. I called the office and was on hold for about 25 minutes at which point they told me their earliest availability was 6 weeks away, which would be AFTER I actually moved away. They were rude and not helpful at all on the phone. I proceeded to spend about 4 hours trying to get a refund from the company over the next few weeks which they denied over and over again. Although pricey, Ideal Image was able to help me finance my treatment so it was affordable for me as a student. While laser hair removal is not painless, the highly trained nurses now exactly what to do to make me comfortable as a client -- Deanna is the best! I've recommended Ideal Image to several friends since I've had treatment done! The customer service, thoughtful reminders of upcoming appointments, and even going as far as to alerting me when someone has cancelled and offering me an earlier appointment, is what makes Ideal Image so great. I heard a commercial on the radio about a special going on for the month of January, so I thought it was time to go for it. I went in for my visit and was very satisfied. I met with Jessica and she was very friendly and informative. Once my consult was over, they worked me in to have my first treatment. I met with Heather who was super sweet, bubbly and also informative. She even called a couple days later to check up on me!
