100% would recommend this office to anyone. They always work with the schedule our family prefers. All the hygienists are friendly and do a thorough cleaning job. Minimal wait time. The dentists always listen to your concerns and offer different treatment options. Front desk ladies are very friendly. The space is clean. It's in a plaza so parking is not an issue. Put your " going to the dentist JITTERS away ! I have to admit that going to the dentist makes me nervous . " No more Nervous me" !!! :) Being that said, I finally found a dentist office that GETS ME ! Dr.Shtarkman, made me feel so comfortable . Very patient, very understanding he takes the time to listen to what you have to say, and makes an effort to talk to you and explain every step of the way. I had a very large filling , next to a crown, it was bothering me so much with pain - Dr. Shtarkman , well - HE FIXED MY DENTAL ISSUE IN ONE VISIT! AHHHHH now that's awesome. Let me start by saying that I neglected my teeth, so I knew it would be a shocking visit. I have never experienced such an amazing Office manager (Barbara), who texted me updates and was 100% kind and professional. Walking up to the office my nerves started, but as soon as I walked in, the calm ambiance and welcoming people put me at ease. I filled out the new pt. Form and was happy it was so thorough. I suffer from MS and I knew my enamel was deteriorated because of my meds. The Dental Assistant took me back and I was seated in a "very nice" room, with a private TV! Within a min I was greeted by the Dr. Shtarkman. He asked me some questions and I was preparing for the worst. The dental assistant was kind and talked me through the X-rays. Dr. Shtarkman came back and discussed the findings. They weren't good, but I was expecting it. He was so through and surprisingly, even though I will basically be living there for a few months, I felt calm and confident in his plan. I know I made the right decision to come here. Going to the dentist is not my favorite place to be, but it was so pleasant, I couldn't have asked for anything more. I hope they liked me as well, because they will be seeing a lot of me LOL. Additionally, prices seem to be very reasonable so far. I don't have dental insurance Fingers crossed my fprocedures go smoothly. Update: Well I have gone back and had some work done. Still amazed by this office. Dr Shtarkman was gentle, kind, and I feel like we have been friends for years. Additionally, prices are very reasonable! Long sorry short, my mother is in the Hospital, and I had to cancel my apt. Very rude to cancel an apt so close to apt date and I try to never do that. Not only did they understand, but the Dr. and Barbara expressed real concern for my mother. I even received a text from the Dr. sending well wishes to my family. I have been so impressed with Ideal Smiles Dental! I recently had their zoom whitening service done and I could not be more satisfied with my pearly whites (that were not even white prior to this). The Dentists are AMAZING! I give them 5 stars along with the wonderful receptionists who are very welcoming and respectful. The only issue I have is with the dental hygenist. Very tough on the hands and very rough, the cleaning felt more like an intense scraping - to describe it as using metal to scrape gum off of a desk. I won't be doing a cleaning here it was painful. So to end it off I give this practice 4 stars and it would have been 5 without the hygenist experience. The Dentists are excellent (both of them) and very caring, funny and make dentistry an easy process taking away possible anxieties one may have. The Doctors and assistants here are excellent and engage in a conversation with you. You aren't just a patient, but a friend. That is something rare to find in the office! read more

I was looking for a reliable and trustworthy dentist and a friend referred me to Ideal Smiles. So glad he did because I had a very pleasant experience. My dentist was Dr. Shtarkman who was very nice and thorough. Went in for a check up and cleaning and have been bouncing around from dentist to dentist because of the lack of professionalism. Most of my past experiences have been rushed, but not this one. It was finally the level of care and detail that I would expect from every medical visit, but rarely receive. Dr. Klutchman is an absolutely amazing dentist. He is very caring and gentle when it comes to taking care of his patients dental work. The office is always very clean. There is never a long wait there. You get called the minute you come in. The receptionist is always nice and welcoming. One time I came in for a regular fill in and after the numbing I felt a weird feeling in my throat.Dr. Klutchman called me the next day to ask me if I was okay. Never had a dentist to do that. Took my 5 1/2 year old kids Adam and Liam to the dentist for the first time and couldn't be happier with the experience. The front desk staff and everyone else is so pleasant and friendly. I'm very fortunate to have Dr. Kluchman fix a filling of mine. It was quite a large filling so that evening I was searching for a Dentist with great reviews who would be available the following day for emergency visit. In addition to the filling I had a nerve injury sustained by a dentist several years ago which I have never fully recovered from and needed nerve repair surgeryand that is why I didn't want to take the chance just to look for any dentist. Beautiful office, and lots of parking space. As I entered, I was greeted wonderfully by Donna his office staff and Barbara the office manager. I only had 2 forms to fill out which was great and they took me in right away. Didn't even have time to pick up a magazine. :) I met Dr. Kluchman and when discussing my history, I came to find out he was in the class lecture of one of the Best Orthognathic surgeon's I know who performed my corrective nerve surgery so knowing this put me at ease. I had x ray's taken by friendly technician and then he went over my medical history with the nerve injury and discussed the best option for me regarding anesthesia to reduce injuring the nerve any further. He did a wonderful job. A very professional yet friendly communication between him and his assistant. I really appreciated the great leadership and team work. I have been on the chair in the past at different dental offices where that is not the case. Later today, he even was kind enough to call and to check up on me on how I was doing. I've never gone to a dentist without crying. Whether it be from the needles they injected to numb my mouth, the procedures themselves or the post procedure pain. There have always and I mean ALWAYS been tears when I had to visit a dentist. Until last night when I had an emergency visit with Dr. Shtarkman for the first time. I was having an immense amount of pain in my mouth from a tooth that had cracked and exposed what was once a filling. I called Dr. Shtarkman's office and spoke with the Doctor himself! I informed him of the situation but told him I couldn't make it to the office until after 8 pm due to my work schedule. He said "I will stay open late and wait for you to get here". I've never had a doctor say those words to me. In fact most of the time doctors ask you to come in early so they can leave early (which I understand since I work in the medical field as well) When I walked in I was greeted by a dental technician named Annie who was pulling double duty, covering the front desk and seeing patients with the doc. She was super friendly and pleasant to deal with. After a short 5 minutes I was in a chair and having X-rays done with Annie. A few moments later doc came in, introduced himself and explained that I needed a root canal. My stomach sank. This is a procedure I've come to know all too well. He walked me through the entire visit. Literally explaining what he was doing every step of the way. I didn't even feel the needle hit my gums! Not a pinch or a sting, NOTHING! I couldn't believe it. The procedure was done in less than 30 minutes and I was on my way to the pharmacy to pick up my scripts that he electronically sent over to Walgreens. Fast forward to today, I woke up with a minimal amount of swelling where the procedure took place and no pain! Some soreness but NO PAIN! In the past My pain would have kept me home and in bed for days and I would avoid returning to previous dentists to complete the root canal because I didn't want to experience that pain again. Needless to say, I will be showing up to my appointment next week to complete this root canal, in fact I look forward to returning to their office. I rarely write reviews but this dental office was really great and they did an amazing job cleaning my teeth and my daughters teeth. My daughter and I came here for a cleaning after my friend recommended this dental office to me. I was extremely impressed with their professionalism, especially with children. Dr. Shtarkman really took the time to explain everything to me and he didn't rush our appointment. I highly recommend him. First I will start by saying that I take extremely good care of my oral hygiene. Since getting Invisalign 6 years ago I have been religious with my brushing, flossing, and fluoride rinsing routine 2x daily (fluoride rinse once daily before bed). When I found out that my dentist of 16 years was closed due to repairs, I was no looking forward to going elsewhere to get a cleaning. I put off my usual 6 month cleaning to about 8 months before finally googling 'Ideal Smiles Dental' due to the few 5 star reviews on google, and being pleasantly surprised by the receptionist's friendly demeanor and quick appointment availability. I met with Dr. Jason on a Saturday morning sometime in August of this year. Being that I pay out of pocket for dental, I brought a full portrait X-ray of my teeth that I got from my oral surgeon in hope to avoid paying for unnecessary X-rays when all I needed was a check up and a cleaning. He did a quick manual examination of my mouth and then proceeded to tell me that he recommended I get the X-rays because I had '4 cavities' ?!? 'How is that even possible' I stated I was just at my dentist less than a year ago and he said he was 'watching' only one tooth that may possibly need to be filled in the future. The dentist told me that particular tooth was 'near root canal' due to the cavity size and the other cavities were indeed present. Infuriated, I told him that I did not wish to proceed with the cleaning and that I was going to get another opinion on these illusive cavities. My response really upset Sir Jason and he said he was 'upset that I didn't believe him' and would show me visually with both X-rays and photos and would go as far as to NOT charge me for the visit. I told him that was not necessary and I had no problem paying for the visit. Thinking back, if you stand by your work, in any profession, you are going to charge for your services. If I person is unhappy with the service then you correct the problem, not do something for nothing as he was making it seem. Nevertheless, Dr. Jason proceeded to show me my cavities in 100x enlarged photos trying to 'prove' to me that I really had the cavities he found. I shook my head and listened, knowing damn well this man was full of you-know-what and had picked the wrong person to try to BS that morning. Afterward, I scheduled an appointment with a reputable dentist who confirmed that I had no cavities. He stated that there was one tooth (that my old dentist was watching) that needed to be filled, but it wasn't 'an emergency' definitely not calling for a root canal procedure like sweet ol' Jason had previously stated. When I told the new dentist what happened, he explained to me that what Jason probably saw were extremely small holes that if filled, would cause an even bigger hole 'so that is nothing something we want to do.' Hmmm? I wonder why Jason would want to put 3 bigger holes in my mouth when it wasn't necessary. All I can say to anyone is do your homework and BEWARE of such cavities that aren't required to be filled. I had ZERO pain. I am going later this month to have the other tooth filled and the only reason why I am giving the dentist who hides by the name 'Ideal Smiles Dental' two stars is because the girls who work there were EXTREMELY friendly and made me feel comfortable when I felt like I was being conned to and wanted to walk out. Also, the office is state of the art and gorgeous. With that being said maybe they have a lot of bills to pay, but not with my money that's for sure-you should have charged for your visit. read more

What are your fears about going to a dentist - Pain, absolute irritation, schedule nightmares, insurance haggling etc - NONE of these will be a problem that you will face with the two absolutely fantastic doctors and gentlemen that I have ever met - Dr.Kluchman and Dr.Shtarkman ... they are amazing dentists and beautiful human beings. They do everything with a smile, make you visits to the dentist feel like something that you really want to experience than something that you have to go through when in great pain. I can't say enough good things about my experience here. The whole staff is WONDERFUL! I am not patient but was in desperate need of some dental intervention as I was in pain for days while my regular dentist was closed due to covid. I called explained my situation with out hesitation they told me to come right in. Donna who was working the front desk was extremely accommodating and friendly she actually took my mind off the pain I was in during the quick wait. I was evaluated by Dr.Shtarkman who was so kind and compassionate I was unfortunately in need of a root canal and he actually stayed late because he didn't want to leave me in pain which I am so grateful for! The whole process was pain free. I've never experienced such a smooth process at any dental appointments I've ever been to, he even called the next day to check in and see how I was feeling. Let me start by saying I have gone to many dentists in my young adult / adult life - MANY. My first dentist killed the root of my tooth leaving me with a black shadow most of my life. I was in a Facebook group all women talking about nails , hair , and so on when I asked the question ... BEST cosmetic dentist on Staten Island and someone wrote Dr.Shtarkman ideal smiles dental - veterans road. That's where my story starts - long story short I love the service, the atmosphere , the manager. I am not the best patient (pain wise) but also not the worst. I actually love going to the dentist now. I was shamed at other dentists because I hold my hands so tight and I don't breathe well I hold a pained face when I'm not in pain. Dr. Shtarkman is incredible. His professionalism with his patients always checking in on me to make sure I am okay , or if anything is bothering me. Being a medical professional I appreciate the follow up in today's day and age there is no one like him. I am so friendly with the office manager Barbra she always takes her time to make my appointments.I have a very intense work schedule - she doesn't get frustrated with me at all when I know that is the WORST to constantly change and cancel!
