I had an amazing experience with Perfect Moving during our local NYC move over Thanksgiving week. I was pretty nervous leading up to it--moving with two toddlers is no small feat--but Pete, Matija, and Emil made the entire process incredibly smooth. All three were young, but very composed and clearly experienced (definitely learned a lot of moving hacks from them). Emil handled disassembling and reassembling our king‑size bed frame and crib effortlessly (something our last movers really struggled with), and the team even came the day before to help pack about half our boxes so that moving day would go quickly. They worked fast, stayed organized, and took great care with everything. At our new apartment, they navigated two separate elevators with ease and got every piece of furniture right where it needed to go. And the cherry on top--they even made sure the loose dollar bills my wife had lying around were safely packed into our boxes! That level of honesty and attention to detail really stood out. This is the best moving company in NYC. Amy and everyone else are very friendly every time you call to get a quote or email them with a question. We called several companies and Perfect Moving offered us the best price. They also have an excellent communication system And are extremely responsive. They moved us out from our previous apartment and they took their time to wrap every single piece of furniture to protect them. We stored our things with them for 5 months while traveling because again they offered the best price also in storage and it was convenient. They sent us invoices every month with the charge but let us know days in advance we were going to be charged for that. This week they moved us into our new apartment making 2 stops. First to get our things from their storage, then to pick up other things we had in Manhattan MinI Storage and then to bring everything home. At the end, someone called us to ask how the service was. This is hands down the best moving experience I've had. I recently did a move in Brooklyn. I didn't have a lot of stuff, but leading up to the move, it was hard for me to get an exact count of everything I owned. When I send my estimate to Perfect Moving, they gave me a very reasonable quote that I was thrilled with. As the week went on, I realized that I had more items that I originally estimated. Perfect Moving was very generous and said they can cover that with no changes to the original price. The movers showed up on time. They were very professional and careful with my belonging. They also made sure to check with me that they're moving the right thing (I had a roommate, so I had to make sure they don't accidentally pack my roommate's stuff). The movers were also very friendly and offered me a ride to my new address on their truck as well. Update: Perfect moving found two cheap chairs on facebook marketplace (one looks fake, one broken), and offered to "replace" my $1,400 Herman Miller chair with one of those. This was their idea of a fair resolution. ------------------------------ I had an awful experience with Perfect Moving and strongly warn others to stay away. They broke multiple items during my move, including my $1,400 Herman Miller chair, a $500 West Elm floor lamp, my espresso machine, and more. Instead of taking responsibility, they insisted on paying only based on weight, which came out to just $40.80 for the chair and $16.8 for the lamp. The customer service was also shockingly unprofessional -- they implied the hole in my chair was pre-existing and even suggested that damage like this is "normal wear and tear" during a move. I also paid for their packing service, which turned out to be a complete joke. I specifically asked them to pack my kitchen, but everything was loosely thrown into boxes with no padding. Many of my appliances ended up scratched, and one oil bottle broke, splashing oil all over my kitchen items. Three weeks after my move and i'm still discovering new damages every day. Save yourself the stress and look elsewhere for movers. read more

Helped my close friend move from Long Island to the city. Perfect moving was very helpful for the most part. They were particularly helpful with complex scheduling and was accommodating with moving around the move date. On the actual day of the move, they showed up on time and ready to work. I've never, ever been inspired to leave any kind of vender review before this terrible encounter. Our recent experience with Perfect Moving was a complete nightmare, starkly contrasting with the positive service we received from them a year ago. From the moment the crew arrived, their unprofessional and rude demeanor set a negative tone for the entire process. Moving is inherently stressful, imagine a crew showing up with an immediate aggressive, dismissive and careless attitude. The movers caused over $4000 in blatant damage just in what we've itemized (there's more and more we're finding eg. treadmill, mattress), yet offered only a $400 refund, claiming the damage was "normal wear and tear." This included a cracked sideboard, broken table legs, a gouged baby crib and changing table, and stained furniture from being stepped on. These items were previously moved without issue, and our additional images will prove this. The standard insurance policy should not apply when there is such blatant disregard for property. The rest of our stuff seems to have been thrown in a pile in the garage so afraid to see what else we find. The crew also coerced our nanny, a complete bystander who we made clear had no financial responsibility with the move. They charged us an additional $1,010--more than half the original price--without our authorization. Despite clear instructions not to take any items to charge us extra, they proceeded, ignoring our role as the cardholder. This is unacceptable. Amy, who coordinated the move, was given detailed information and photos of 95% of our items. Her failure to inventory properly is not our fault. On moving day, her unprofessionalism led to a screaming match. The crew was rude and unaccommodating, adding stress to an already stressful day. Jolena, the claims specialist, was supposed to review our case objectively and help find an equitable resolution. Instead, she perpetuated the same behaviors by denying, justifying, or rationalizing our concerns and ignoring any facts and inconsistencies as we pointed them out if they didn't work in their favor. We've seen Rock, the business owner, respond to other reviews and look forward to hearing from him. Despite attempts to speak with someone else at Perfect Moving, we've received no response. The response will likely mention a crew member was injured moving an elliptical, but this is due to their incompetence. The same equipment was moved in without issue by a previous crew of three with no special equipment. They'll also say something like my mother-in-law was coordinating and authorized but when we the cardholder said not to that doesn't register. Another thing they'll mention is sending another crew as a courtesy but they didn't tell us and no one was even there when they first arrived. Their disrespect extended beyond our home. The neighbors saw the crew literally throw garbage out of their truck into their driveway, leaving a mess that we had to clean up. This behavior was not only irresponsible but also embarrassing, as it reflected poorly on us in our neighborhood. Be warned: Perfect Moving has engaged in illegal procedures by recording calls without disclosing they were doing so or obtaining at minimum one-way consent. This lack of transparency is concerning and adds to the distrust we now feel towards the company. The emotional distress caused by this move was significant. The stress of dealing with broken furniture, unauthorized charges, and a crew that seemed to care little about the impact of their actions was overwhelming. The financial burden of repairing or replacing damaged items only adds to the frustration. This experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. We hope to resolve these issues with Perfect Moving but feel compelled to warn others about our ordeal. Avoid this company if you value your belongings and peace of mind. read more

They not only had to bring all of the heavy material up 6 flights of stairs but had to put together a bed a desk 2 dressers and a kitchen table and unit. They were all in boxes af qbout 100 pounds each. They did the move with ease and a smile and then proceeded to spend more than 12 Hours putting together all the furniture perfectly in a tiny apartment. I can't stress enough how professional and wonderful my whole experience was with this company. They were reasonably priced as well and the men who work for them are top shelf people! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - They Will Hold Your Move Hostage, Damage Your Property, Lose Your Belongings, Then Refuse to Make It Right!!!! I got a quote from Otter Moving first and Perfect Moving representative Dennis PROMISED to match it and assured me everything was included. Biggest mistake ever. I should've known it was a red flag when Dennis claimed that they were different from other moving companies since those often wait until you're in the middle of the move to upcharge you, ironically I had never experienced that until I hired Perfect Moving. I had submitted a detailed inventory list to Dennis and confirmed my availability for January 31st. He confirmed the details with no issue. The movers arrived at 9am on January 31st, took inventory of everything, and started packing and loading items onto the truck. At 11:30am - with my belongings already half-packed and on their truck - a separate representative Dino called demanding an extra $1,300 for "oversized items" that were ALREADY on my inventory and in the Otter quote they promised to match, plus charges for standard things like parking and TV removal (which was already covered). When I questioned it, he threatened to leave all of my belongings in the street and abandon the move. When I told him that Dennis confirmed the quote and belongings and I wished to speak with Dennis, Dino said Dennis was out of office till Monday, how convenient as it was Saturday. They deliberately waited until my things were on their truck so I'd have zero leverage and no ability to hire another contractor. The other red flag? Dino told me I couldn't pay for the new charges with a credit card, but only with Zelle. Despite extorting an extra $1,300, the service was a disaster. They failed to pack TWO BATHROOMS despite it being included in the quote and left several items at my old unit. They tracked dirt and debris throughout my brand new home on move-in day, leaving filthy footprints across multiple floors and stairs. Their excuse? "We don't provide shoe covers - customers must provide them." I was NEVER told I needed to provide shoe covers for their crew in winter weather. Any professional moving company should have this as standard equipment. Now I'm paying $350 out of pocket for professional cleaning to fix their mess. The packing was incompetent and careless. My irreplaceable childhood painting (that I made when I was 3 years old) in a glass frame was thrown unwrapped into a box with electronics. They spilled my $65 diffuser oil through improper packing. Boxes are mislabeled so contents don't match labels. Three remotes are missing. Three weeks later I'm STILL discovering damage and missing items from their rushed, negligent work. After providing photos, videos, and waiting through their 3-week "claims process," they offered me $100 for $415+ in documented damages. They completely ignored the spilled oil, damaged artwork, and missing remotes, claiming the dirt they tracked "falls outside the scope of covered claims" per their policy. So I'm stuck paying $415+ out of pocket for damage THEY caused, on top of the $1,300 they extorted mid-move. Total cost beyond what they promised to match: $2,515+ and I'm STILL finding problems. They lied about matching the competitor quote, waited until my belongings were loaded on their truck, then demanded an extra $1,300 or threatened to dump everything in the street. They failed to pack entire rooms, left items behind, trashed my new home, damaged irreplaceable sentimental items, lost belongings, then offered pocket change while I pay to fix their mess. This is deliberate, calculated, predatory business practice. Save yourself the money and heartbreak - use Otter or ANY other company. Just not Perfect Moving. read more

Truly had a "perfect moving" experience. I lived on a 4th floor walk-up and these guys really went out of their way to get the job done right. It certainly was no easy task. Everything got safely to my new home, without anything being damaged at all. Their prices were also very competitive and I didn't experience any kind of hidden fees or last minute add-ons, except for just about $100 more because I undercounted the amount of boxes I was going to have by about half (my bad). I just moved into our new home and it was the worst experience because of this moving company. They broke many of our items, special irreplaceable things such as wedding gifts. Our new home's floor and walls have scuff marks and scratches all over! The movers didn't put any kind of mats down to protect the floors and there are literally holes in it they made because of their careless unpacking and moving of the furniture. On top of that, they demanded an extra $1k because they used more materials than planned and wouldn't release our things until we paid them, literally holding the truck and preventing it from reaching our home, which is illegal. The extra boxes they used were 20% full so they're complete scammers. The office staff is incompetent and messed up the plastic bin pickup process, coming to get our bins in the middle of the night instead of the early afternoon time frame initially agreed upon. I definitely don't recommend this company to anyone and would strongly advise to do your research and make sure the company you hire is legit, because this one certainly is not! Perfect Moving was a terrible experience for us this summer and I warn others to stay away. They broke, lost and damaged multiple expensive items. We reported these issues immediately, with multiple pictures of what had been damaged, and they refused to replace or repair any of them - leaving us thousands of dollars in the hole. The damages they caused included: a massive hole that they punched in the side of our high quality mattress (months later the mattress is permanently damaged and no longer flat); an ipad trackpad they smashed buy putting a heavy item on top of it; a white desk that they put a dark substance on leaving a permanent black stain; lost brackets for two expensive pieces of art making them impossible to re-hang. Not only were they unwilling to take responsibility for our belongings they damaged, they were extremely unpleasant to work with. When we contacted the company we had a very bad experience with Gina who had been our rep throughout the process. She was completely unprofessional, talked over us, made no apologies and tried to claim the pictures of damage were taken before the move (untrue, the photos were timestamped), then she changed her tune and said this was a misunderstanding with the movers. We then spoke to Mia who was at least extremely apologetic about what happened but refused to take any responsibility for the thousands of dollars of damage caused. They were extremely responsive in the months leading up to the move, their team was on time and took extreme care with my belongings, and were very efficient. They packed my belongings, loaded the truck, and dropped everything off at my new apartment within 3 hours total. Plus, they disassembled by bed, couch, and other furniture and reassembled it all at the new location. They were also super friendly and respectful. I'd recommend them to anyone moving in the city! My only note was that the rate was a bit high for the scale of my move, which was rather small. I did have to reschedule the date several times, and the rate increased each time I did which was unfortunate, but I was understanding that some days are busier than others and they have a minimum to hit during the summer months.
