Upon moving to this county, I received several bids from other fireplace companies locally. Hearth and Home showed up on time as scheduled, and the representative Kyle, was very knowledgeable and professional. Super awesome to work with! They have a great show room and I was able to actually see the wood-burning stove before I ordered it. I also really appreciate that they were willing to paint my stove the color I wanted (new iron) instead of having it solid black. Mike did a perfect job painting & installing. Evidently, he has great experience with painting because there were no drips and he made sure to tape everything off so the result was absolutely perfect! They even painted the pipe to match! Love love love this company! I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a fireplace insert or a wood-burning stove. Five star products and service!!! And, by the way, for the reader sake, I was not paid to write this review and I have had no prior experience with this company whatsoever.

Our experience at Hearth and Home was very poor. There was little to no project management…read more Contractors were not aligned, not scheduled properly -- nobody was working to get our fireplace install done. Office care and follow-up was insufficient; no-one showed follow-up or leadership. I had to manage it all. And there was a lot of basic incompetence: the wrong fireplace being ordered and installed; the facade covering not being scheduled, then turning up in the wrong size. And so on. I have a busy working life, like we all do, and frequently I had to cancel work plans with little or no notice, to be at home to let contractors in, who then didn't or couldn't do their jobs. And when I reached out to the Hearth and Home office, fingers were pointed, but the job wasn't resolved. I'm left looking at a big invoice that I don't think this company has earned. They have made my life stressful, I'm really aggravated by the experience. Two months after I walked into the Sugar House office, the job still isn't done. In sum: I can't think of a more earned one-star feedback than the useless team at Hearth and Home. If you read this review, go somewhere else, please.

As the delivery boys were coming into the house the second time, after looking at the spot the dresser was being placed, one of them was actively saying bad things about our house. Such as describing it as a "dirty ass house. And they want us to take something into the basement past piles of shit". 1. Our house is not a "dirty ass house", it's cleaned daily and we have air purifiers on both levels. 2. Neither of these men, nor anyone that works for Hard Hat has ever gone into my basement. They have no way of knowing if there are "piles of shit" down there or if the floors are so clean that you could eat off of them. If there was a problem with where we wanted it delivered to it should have been told to us when we purchased the item AND DELIVERY. 3. We paid for delivery and were told that everything was fine and paid. Him cussing about us and our house while walking in, with me right there to hear, was the first we knew that something was up. He was caught on two different cameras walking into my front door saying this. It goes without saying that we canceled the order that we were waiting on. Tonight we're talking to our oldest, whose room they took the dresser to and were left alone it to set it up for a short time. She said "I've been looking for the $10 from my room, but it's been missing since the dresser got put in. I can't find it anywhere." Huh. The funny thing is, we also got the guy on camera complaining about tips. It's just $10, but it was from a little girl's play kitchen and she was saving it. If he took the $10, I hope he enjoyed that $10 and you enjoyed the loss of over $1,000 when we canceled our order. What is the point of buying local if you're going to be treated like crap for being a loyal client that always pays their bill?

First they sold me a washer and dryer that quit working in less than a week and the proceeded to tell me to call the manufacturer to get it fixed instead of replacing it with a new one. The manufacturer then told me it would be a month or two to replace the part. All the while I'm driving 20 mins to the laundromat. The did not care until my husband said something. Then we went to get bedroom furniture and I asked for the same payment date as my last purchase, they assured me they could do that. When my furniture arrives it is completely different then what I had purchased. We were stuck with the set for a month while my new set came in. They said that they wouldn't charge me until the correct set came in like they were doing me a favor, thanks a lot. Then we got the furniture and was told everything would be okay now. A month or so passes and I see that they double charged me with no past due amount, I call and ask for a refund and tell them that they constantly are messing up. Then I was told everything would be fine again. Next month rolls around and I get a bill for a past due amount of $675. I call AGAIN and ask what's going on. They said I didn't make a payment until January when I got my correct set in December. I told them they have messed up again and they denied any wrong doing and told me I was at fault. I asked him a bunch of questions about sprinklers and he was very generous with his information. One time I needed a piece of plexi-glass and a worker dug up a remnant for me. They are very knowlegable about paint and wood finish. They can make a copy of any key. I highly recommend them. The only thing I can think of that isn't five stars is their small parking lot and they are kind of out of the way.

The cloth is loose and plays slow (even for Simonis), even on the rails, making the table play long. The table wasn't level (not even close--they used a 2 ft carpenter's level); I had to level it after they left because they refused to help me level it. And I found a huge chip out of my brand new quartz counter top on my island closest to the table. I just replaced the counters within the last year ($10K) (They must have dropped something on it.) At least the pocket facings are done well, but there are ripples all along the undersides of the rails. Paid nearly $1000K to have them set up and re-cloth the table. They were nice, but they won't set foot in my house again after the damage to my counter. I wanted to leave a good review, but they did just about everything they could to prevent it. 3 people were probably too many people for the job.
