I can't get the Bluetooth on the Linux machine I bought from Computer Surplus Outlet to work. After…read morethe first set of speakers I purchased wouldn't connect (though the salesperson at Best Buy had assured me the speakers would be compatible with Linux), the guy at Computer Surplus who sold me the computer told me to bring em in, along with the computer, and he got them to work by adding an adapter dongle. Worked fine after I brought the system home - for about five minutes. The second time I played a music file a volume surge about broke my eardrums, and also destroyed the speakers I'd purchased. Thinking the problem might have been faulty speakers, I returned them and exchanged them for another set of speakers, same make and model. Same thing happened again. Lucky for me Best Buy has a good return policy. Unlike the owner of Computer Surplus Outlet. As I was packing up the second set of speakers, I looked at the box for the adapter dongle the owner had given me, and noticed it said 'compatible with Windows 10'. I didn't see anything about compatibility with Linux, on the box. Which I understand doesn't mean it's not. But I'm willing to bet it's not. I also tried connecting a portable speaker I'd had for a few months, that's always connected seamlessly via Bluetooth with my phone. Wouldn't work with the computer, though. Dude wanted to give me store credit but after five days of dealing with the nonsense I told him if he wasn't gonna give me a refund I was gonna call the bank and file a claim for fraudulent charge. I doubt that'll amount to anything, as he DID have the return policy posted. I don't think it was posted very prominently, though. And I notice I'm not the first person to be unaware of the return policy until I saw it on the receipt. Which was, of course, post purchase. Stay away from this place.

My…read more2-yearold HP laptop would not restart, even after following all the manufacturer's guidance from hotline. Marty at PCFixMe! answered my call, offered to fix later that same day, and when I drove up to CLE, he did troubleshooting and identified issues with motherboard. He corrected it, said it was common issue, and provided tips to prevent it (properly shutting down laptop). He also showed me how to remove back of motherboard and unplug/replug in battery, and provided me with small screwdrivers so I could do it myself if needed. Which I did when similar issues came up the next week. Twice. The solution worked temporarily, but... when my screen went black the following week, I called Marty to discuss. Since I was located an hour away, he kindly offered several options, one of which included helping me purchase a new laptop if motherboard was bad- worst case scenario. When I took the laptop to him, he did trouble shooting, laptop did not reboot, motherboard was bad and we proceeded to shop online for a replacement. He recommended a replacement, and he ordered it then and there. When it arrived a few days later at his shop, he called to tell me he noticed a scuff on the cover and also found that it did not have all he had expected in hardware, and apologized for his mistake. We discussed an alternative Lenovo laptop - also less expensive - and he purchased. When it arrived several days later, I picked it up. Marty was honest with me again and told me my old laptop eventually did reboot! I said I'd keep it as a backup, but I needed a reliable alternative for my new business.
