Like many computer users I live in two worlds. The Mac world and the PC world. I have a Mac desktop, PC laptop and a newly acquired MacBook Pro laptop. There are only so many computers a gal can use at once so I decided to give my fairly new PC laptop to my brother B. B works in ad sales and has no personal computer of his own. As someone who lives online I cannot even fathom not being able to jump online at any time. It would be like trying to breathe in outer space without an oxygen suit! After meeting Doc and Topher at Fresh Cafe, (because I was trying to finagle Doc into being a Rappin' Santa for a Yelp event) I decided to hire iFix Pro to wipe my laptop and transfer the data into my Mac's external hard drive. I know nothing more than the very bare minimum about computers so although Doc tried to explain stuff to me, all I heard was "Blah blah blah blah blah. We should be able to have it back to you in a few days." After dropping off my laptop and external drive I received an email containing a ticket number for my work order so that I could keep track of the progress. Oh these tech guys and their savvy customer service tricks! The job was done in about two days, which was pretty good considering it was during the busy holiday season. To clean out my old laptop, do 98 updates and transfer the data it was $103.66. To have peace of mind, a hassle free experience and to give my brother B a laptop of his own for 2010...priceless! The Doc is in! After years of downloading crap I finally got an expert (Doc) got to look inside my computer. What he saw is between he and me, I don't need anyone finding out I like to post about restaurants? Anyway, he didn't laugh when he saw all the programs working against each other. He removed the Viruses and Excess Programs I don't need. My computer is working great , same for my Laptop. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! read more

i realize that this place has the highest reviews and it made me hopeful that I would be able to get my computer fixed and not get swindled. So I called the number listed on yelp..got the answering machine..hung up. Promptly received a call from Doc or Shaun (good sign). I told him the problem I had with my computer and he seemed to know right away what was wrong with it. He said he would call at 9 the next morning. But...NO CALL. So I wait..and wait.. At around 12 I text him my name, number, and info (his voicemail says he prefers texts and doesn't check his voicemail). Three days later and still no reply, no explanations. LOVE these guys! Met both Doc and Topher at a few Yelp! events and other cool-people mixers (so I knew they were cool, and now you know I'm cool- cause I just told you!). Even before I was having major computer problems, I asked Doc about a certain issue and if he could come take a look. He told me right then and there what I needed to do, without dragging me into unnecessary conversations about how if I pay for his service or how he's a better option than someone else's company. There was NO sales spiel; he was happy just to help. THAT was when I knew that if I started having some computer problems, I would DEFINITELY be bringing my business to him. When my computer did go into full melt down and I called for an estimate, he gave me more free advice over the phone. MORE BONUS POINTS! Anyway, he came in, fixed the computer, told me what was causing the issue, what I can do to prevent it, and did a general clean-up of my programs. He let me know what free resources I can use, he told me the cheapest options for some hardware that could help me and explained how I could install it myself. Not only are his rates MUCH more affordable than the other options on Oahu (his on-site fee is a flat-rate and it's the same as some other companies' in-office; their on-sites are even higher and are hourly. yikes!), but he's fast, and he doesn't try to talk you into other more expensive services. I love that the process is very transparent and honest. He suggests all the things you could do yourself (even though it could potentially cost him a sale), and it makes you wonder: "does he even want me to pay him?!" And that only makes me want to pay him more! HE IS A MAD GENIUS! read more

I like these guys a lot. Shawn and Kris take the time to answer questions, explore potential options with you, and are thorough on their follow up. I like that they have a good mix of in-person/over the phone support, along with the online way to check in on things. I had thought I lost data on my aging laptop and they were able to diagnose the problem quickly, recommend a few scenarios and indulge answering my many questions. I find their prices to be pretty competitive and will certainly be going back if I ever have tech problems again. :) read more

I've brought my macs to Shawn before when he worked for apple as a "genius" staff member answering a variety of questions and repairing problems on ppl's macs. The value here lies in his experience... And he has a lot of it so if you gotta mac that's misbehaving and u need a professional's opinion and solution... Give'em a go. I'm sure your mac will sleep better at night because of it. read more

so i haven't actually used iFixPro for anything but free phone consultation services but really, i think that should speak for itself. my external hard drive has been making a weird whirring and clicking noise since before i can remember but i only recently discovered that that is NOT normal. serves me right for thinking i'm all computer savvy! anyway, i browsed yelp to figure out who i should try to talk to about this issue and settled on ifixpro because they were closest to my school and EMI had a 5 star review about them! i trust emi's opinion, esp in all things yelp! :P anyway, i called the number listed and spoke to someone (not sure who, didn't catch his name!) about my broken hard drive. he was really helpful and even though he couldn't fix it, he gave me all the information i needed to figure out what to do about it. it was awesome! he was so friendly and very honest. he instructed me on how to backup my data and stuff on my own, instead of having to pay for them to do it! i'm all about saving money so that was great. after getting a new hard drive, i had to deal with returning my old one since it was still under warranty. the seagate website is not that easy to navigate if you're a mac user like myself, so i called ifixpro AGAIN to see if he could help me figure it out. he was still super friendly and helpful (even though i think i was pretty irritating by this point - abusing his tech knowledge and free services!). i recommend ifixpro to anyone with computer issues! i definitely will use them if i have a computer issue (cross my fingers that's not soon) so maybe one day i'll actually be a paying customer! :D read more

Doc is the "gold standard" for clear communication, accurate descriptions and detailed knowledge. My laptop was up and running again in minutes after stopping to see him. He is definitely the guy to talk to about all things Mac. Can't praise him highly enough. read more

Honest computer nerds that aren't geeks. These guys, mainly "Doc" are great! Maybe a little overwhelmed with the amount of projects they take on but they are great and creative people. If you have a computer issue I would call them just keep them on a schedule especially if you are on a schedule. read more
