As we have priority pass membership our lounge visits are free but usually the lounge costs at least $25. They have pretty good wifi and a good spread of food which includes a soup of the day, different sandwiches, fruits and drinks of all kind. I have been to many different lounges in different airports around the world but this one is starting to show its age. The furniture is getting old and the sofas are really uncomfortable plus they don't have enough charging outlets. So at some point the management of the lounge will have to update everything. The good part is that the Ataturk airport has lots of different options so if you don't feel satisfied with this one you can try other lounges which are within the same area of the terminal.

We started off with a shepherds salad because I was in desperate need of fibre after two days of straight protein and carbs . It was a simple Mediterranean style salad, with tomato, onions, cucumbers, and parsley. We then shared a chicken shish and, heavily influenced by the meal we had at Antiochia the day prior, a kebab durum. The durum was good - crispy and meaty - but I think we had the best at Antiochia. It lacked a bit of juice. The chicken shish was delicious though; it was tender, moist, and flavourful. The real star, however, was the kunefe. This dessert was by far the best of its kind we've had in Istanbul! It wasn't too sweet, the inside was creamy (and more mild than some other variations we tried), but it was the clotted cream on top and the pistachio crumble that elevated this to another level. The cream made the dish super buttery and fragrant, adding complexity. Would definitely come again just for the kunefe!

It hovers over all airline business lounges I've visited in terms of service, food quality and lounge experiences. Service-wise the lounge deploys a stream of staff bussing tables and cleaning. Its an impressive operation. The lounge sits on the second floor of IST after passport control and there are 2 entrances : handicap and standard (around the corner from it on your left, across from Gate E1. How to get in? First you must access the lounge on the same day as your international ticket. Then you can get in via one of the options below: 1. you have a Star Alliance gold status or above, 2. a Star Alliance business or first class ticket ; 3. or a Miles & Smiles elite status with Turkish Airlines. 4.
