Been going here for over 20 years. Best grocery store on the coast. Everything is easy to find and produce is fresh.

It's the heavy-handed virus zealotry that puts me off, and I've chosen to shop at the Independent…read moreinstead. By its defining characteristics, the threat posed by the virus has been overstated by many orders of magnitude by the government. The average number of cancer deaths per month in BC hovers around a thousand, and the deaths from the opioid crisis also dwarfs those from the virus, yet we have to be scolded by virus evangelicals whenever we display scepticism despite the actual threat from the virus being extremely low. Claytons posts a head counter at its entrance, and as my partner and I walked into the store, the employee yelled at us for doing so. There's not a single recorded instance of a massive outbreak occurring in a community due to one extra person occupying a particular space, and to actually be yelled at like an errant school boy was the absolute limit. Before the masks were made compulsory, we were sneered at by the staff here, and the level of service was abominable. Seriously, I have no problem with a person thinking that the virus is the Black Death; however, when that paranoia spills into my life in the form of anti social behaviour, that's where I draw the line. No lives are being spared by compulsory mask wearing, or social distancing, as both measures have been proven to be functionally useless according studies from prominent university researchers. I will not forget just how poorly my partner and I were treated long after this silly thing has passed.

Great selection and impeccable service!! My favorite store in Sechelt!…read moreFloral department has a surprising amount of unique arrangements and the Deli has a ton to choose from. All of the staff were super friendly and helpful.

This is not a 2.5 star grocery store, trust me, I've lived in Whistler for a year now and this is…read moreprobably the best one North of Vancouver. We come here to get meats (a lot of which are from Pemberton) and they are marinated in fun sauces so all you have to do is pop whatever it is you got into the oven. I also love their salmon cuts, they are so fresh, deboned and they don't have that nasty skin on them. I'll have to address Jacob L.'s review and say that I come here 2-3 times a month and have never had bad veggies or find the shelves empty. I must be lucky? Their produce section is awesome, I drive down here to get real bean sprouts and they have cute kits to make things like tom yum soup. Their salads and cut fruit are also great time savers and I've never had overripe or rotten pieces in what I've purchased. But I will say there are double sections of things that don't make sense. I am not sure if this is on purpose or if one aisle is organic, special etc. For example there are two tea and coffee sections. One is by the freezers the other is to the left of the store when you walk in. Why is this? I have no idea but their tea selection from their own brand is amazballs and I always stock up on at least 5 types of chai tea and whatever else is in season a the moment. The other Independent store in Whistler isn't as large and they frequently run out of the teas this store carries. The bakery is spot on awesome, we get our cakes from this location (they have more options than the one in Whistler) and they carry loads of different types of massive bags of naan. Their pre-made food section is also pretty impressive. If I were a tourist heading up to Whistler, stop here and get something! Their flat beads, pizzas, spicy wings, pastas, ready to pop in the oven lasagna, quiches, and stuffed peppers are all so good. They also have awesome Indian food, that Chicken Vindaloo they serve is pretty legit. Whistler is expensive for dinning, if you are in a vacation time share unit or know that you have a kitchen in your room, stock up here. #Squamish
