The bottom two inches had precious color, so I don't fault the stylist for that, but I asked for white and was left with hay colored hair, uneven mids and roots, and bleach spots on my dark hair. I signed a contract regarding the previously colored hair, so even though my hair that was virgin looks terrible, they "stand by" this. The most they could do was concede that the bleach on my dark hair was "an honest mistake" and refund the tip I left out of pressure. I went to ihloff to have my hair colored for the first time. I'm 28 and starting to go white. I booked a fairly high level person because I really loved my natural hair color and didn't want to destroy it. I asked to have my natural hair color mimicked, just covering my white patch, which I thought would be easy enough. I was told that we should just do one semi/demi permanent color all over and that any dimension would have to be added in at a later appointment, which was frustrating. I went to a salon because I wanted to avoid shoe polish cover. I ended up paying $135 for something I could have accomplished at home using a box. My stylist was 15 minutes late to my appointment, they booked another haircut for her during the middle of my appointment, and I had to keep asking other people questions (e.g. should my scalp be burning?; I noticed this sign says there's a 20 minute maximum for processing...and I've been here for 25 minutes...is my hair going to be okay?). My stylist also got a bunch of hair dye on my clothing, which I didn't notice until I got home. I called the salon to let them know, and they told me to soak it in some oxyclean/hand sanitizer. read more

After coloring my hair with a box color from a pharmacy, I realized what a mistake I'd made. A friend who is now in California recommended Ihloff. Her hair was always beautifully cut and colored. Taking the plunge, I made an appointment with Corey to fix my mistake. Corey was amazing! He put me at ease immediately! His work is outstanding! The color turned out beautifully! The Salon is lovely. They offered me water in a glass and were super friendly. At the end of the visit they gave me a Goody Bag full of products, a card detailing their services and some sweets. They were all incredibly polite from the receptionist to the stylist. I highly recommend Corey for color and for his professional, confident and fantastic personality! I absolutely LOVE Ihloff! Before giving it a try, I was a bit intimidated by the prices even though I had no idea what they were. Everyone just kept talking about it as if it was crazy expensive. I was happy to find that it is actually quite affordable, especially since you get the option of choosing who cuts your hair. Plus, I'm definitely willing to pay a little extra for all the pampering and quality service. Their website has all the information regarding pricing and they have a very convenient online calendar as well. It makes booking super easy! The first time I went, I used a gift card I had been given. Getting a scalp massage is the best thing ever. Different people have cut my hair and I haven't been disappointed with anyone. Savonne and Cooper are usually the ones I go to. I had to make a last minute appointment recently and was scheduled with Jennifer Bond. Kelly S. fixed me! I was going to a different salon for more than a year. Then I decided to cut my hair short. I don't think my original stylist at the different salon could do short hair (bob). I've been doing this cut since July 2016 and everytime I went to original it was a different style. She couldn't duplicate the first cut and it kept getting jacked up. I knew it was time to make a switch. My dear friend recommended Kelly S. She had a great highlight job, and I wanted to add some color and fix my crooked bob. (Not asymmetrical, simply crooked pieces). But I also saw that Kelly did short hair as a specialty. I wanted precision and she delivered. I was in the chair for 3 hours. Wet cut, balyage, style and dry cut (bc my hair was so funky she had to flat iron it and really measure). I feel like she really cared. I appreciate that level of attention and she communicated the entire time of what we needed to do. I'm looking forward to it getting a tad longer and working with her again. I am a long standing client that have been seeing the same stylist for more then 10 years . For the most part the satisfaction is from the stylist not the salon itself .. it is nice to have the superficial perks of welcoming smiles of people at the front desk , offering you drinks and whatever and working at being extra courteous. The real challenge is when a business gets hit with unfortunate and unpredictable situations ( COVID, sick employees etc... ) then you know if so called business is solid and up to the challenge with management that can handle any situation. Here I would say this particular salon failed . To make my long story short my stylist took sick leave for an illness and I was told she gets back in August . Low and behold I get a confirmation text and email for the time and the usual location at Hyatt . So I show up few minutes earlier to find out this branch is closed since March and my stylist is not seeing clients except one day a week and ... wait.... she is booked for some time !!! I would not think a respectable professional business would not check their automatic reminders, inform their clients of the schedule changes or -last but not least- send messages that a particular location is closed. Never mind the inconvenience and the fact that I had to pay parking fee and get disappointed that day ... the thing is for me a business is rated by the most basic of courtesy and respect for their clients' time. My closing message is this .... Imagine your doctor ( though not same serious situation ) is sick and COVID happened and there were a lot of changes... you get a reminder you are seeing your doctor at a particular time at the usual location . You make changes in you schedule drive all the way to find out that the office was closed for some time and that your doctor changed their working hours .... I had an 80 min de-stress massage from Heather. She was absolutely amazing! I would highly recommend her! The facility is nice. It's is a little odd having to walk through a bustling hair salon, to get to the spa portion. The hostess Rachel for the spa portion is an absolute delight. Totally accommodating and caring. The check out process was a little confusing, as they weren't aware that my services had already been taken care of (even though It was confirmed when the appointment was scheduled). I also had a $10 Birthday credit that the cashier had asked if I wanted applied to my massage. I then had to tell her to apply my credit to the product purchased because my massage was already paid for. Updated review: I still love this salon, but even more. I have been going to Kylie for almost a year now. I get my hair colored every couple of months. This time, I wanted to do something different. I took her a picture of what I wanted it to look like. She did it perfectly! If you go there to see Kylie you will not be disappointed! This was my first time here and I LOVE IT! I was a bit unsure as I just moved to town a loved my salon in my precious city. They actually recommended Ihloff as did a friend of my mom's. Kylie is a rock star! The worst manicure I have ever had. I had an hour appointment. I had old shellac on 4 fingers (both pinkies and both thumbs. She complained about how hard it was to get off. She stated how it comes of best is to soak the nail, but that sh we didn't have time for that. She never even got it all off, she decided she would paint over it because she was in a hurry. She kept saying how she was going to have to cut out steps to be able to have shellac. She spent 1hr and 30 min and she still could not do a manicure without cutting out steps. No lotion. No hand massage. Made me late for thanksgiving plans. Did not remove the old shellac all the way, painted over the remaining old shellac and all over the skin around my nails. AWFUL!!! Made an appointment for South Tulsa location, arrived 10 minutes early. Cheked in at the front desk and sat down. After a 25 minute wait past the appointment time, I approached the desk to inquire and was THEN told I didn't have an appointment. So, they wouldnt have told me this at check-in and I was sitting there waiting and being ignored? At what point wound they have said something to me?? Additionally, I'd never been to this stylist previously, my regular stylist was on maternity leave. So, I didn't even know her name prior to making the appointment, so, how could I have "gotten this wrong"? Plus, I had an event to attend in 2 hours, I'd planned this appointment specifically for this reason. I called to voice my complaint to the new owner, KATE, (I was told she was the owner) to date she hasn't bothered or had time to return my call, now 2 weeks ago. I could go on about there turnover and past stylist leaving, seems to be a big problem...all the while guests are paying the highest prices in town for services. I think you should have a friend or two refer you to another salon. I WILL NEVER return to this salon. Retaining a customer of 20+ is years wasn't important enough to even receive the courtesy of a return phone call from the owner. Talk about a feel-good experience! I can't begin this review without acknowledging the sentimental beautiful smells Aveda products provide. My BFF grandma Evelyn always used these products. So, the Aveda sweet smells are that much sweeter for me -- full of nostalgia and remembrance for my BFF. Ihloff is intentional. Intentional for the big picture of world community and the environment. Products have a story of where they came from and the staff is happy to tell it. I've never had a problem calling and being able to make a hair appointment for the same week. The prices for hair services depend on what experience level you'd like your stylist to be. The stylists eight levels go from Protege 1 to Advanced Master Designer. The price-point for a cut and finish with a Protege 1 starts at $33. Complimentary tea, water, and awesome coffee is served when you arrive for your appointment. Everyone who has cut/ colored my hair here has really taken the time to consult with me on exactly what I want before they begin and I have always been pleased with the result. I had my first facial here recently and couldn't have been more pleased with the investment. My face was squeaky clean and I was able to shower after (and use all Aveda products!). I had the Tourmaline Charged Facial and which lasted about an hour. Also, I just found out the owner is based in Tulsa and has been operating since 1980! How cool is that? I have been going to Ihloff for 5+ years, and I have been very dissatisfied the last 2-3 visits. Most of my visits had been at the South Tulsa location, so today I decided to try the Utica Sq location. Bad decision. I have long hair that I am trying to grow out, asked my stylist to take off minimal length to clean it up, and then put in a few long layers for texture. After an admittedly relaxing wash and conditioner, we moved to the hair cutting area and agreed on how much he would cut off. While he did keep the length at what we agreed upon, he then proceeded to cut short, choppy layers that resemble the 1990's Rachel hairdo from FRIENDS. He styled it as such too, despite me asking for my hair to be styled straight. He also then thinned my hair out, despite me previously voicing concerns about my hair being too thin and wanting it to appear thicker. Overall, I did not feel like I received the services I requiested, and I am extremely unhappy with my hair--and will spend the next 6 months having to re-grow it out. read more

This place is the light of my life! First, it is so clean and absolutely gorgeous. When you walk in, they'll offer you a beverage as you check in and take in the sights. They start off with the most delicious-smelling shampoo you'll ever receive, plus a hand massage and hot wrap on your hair just because. The actual service will obviously vary from stylist to stylist, but every cut I have gotten here has been amazing. Brought my computer and showed her my vision. The place was moving and shaking for a Saturday. In the end, I was very pleased.
