No waitlist system, it's a free for all. The seating is horrible, we were seating in a both that looks like it was eaten by a dog. Have been waiting almost two hours for food with no updates when asked. Food not worth it even if it ever arrives. The attitude of the workers is horrible, laziness and no drive. There is no communication between the workers and they don't even know how their own restaurant is arranged (not knowing the table numbers). If I could give zero stars I would. If you are looking for a clean IHOP with chefs that have all the ingredients down and cook just right - this is the IHOP to go to. Went there for the first time on a Tuesday night, I was hesitant at first because you never know what you're gonna get at a different ihops restaurant. However, it was nice to finally sit after a long day and enjoy an omlete made just right (prepared by the manager Gus), a clean atmosphere and very friendly staff, Kelly was my waitress, and the other servers working that night were super attentive and friendly too. The manager was also great, he cooks and works just as hard or harder than waitstaff. Very impressive ihops. I highly recommended if you are looking for what ihops used to be before some in South Texas went down in quality of service and food. read more

Just ate an early dinner here, and the food was all delicious & came out hot! The dining room was clean & tables were stocked. Nyeshia was our server & she was super helpful & attentive! Zeke the manager even came out and greeted our table personally, since it was a quiet moment before dinner rush. He shared that he took over management in recent months, and is working to create a company culture with the best of the best employees. Yes, I know it's IHOP. Yes, I know it's standard. But, IHOP has stepped up its game with the Spicy Poblano omelette. Light, delicious and spicy. The sauce really is quite tasty on this dish. With fresh avocados on top this was a delicious breakfast today. Service was good. I just wish it weren't so hot in the restaurant. For IHOP it's a great job today. read more

This IHOP ruined Christmas, and thankfully you are reading reviews unlike we did, assuming this restaurant could handle basic expectations. DO NOT GO! I repeat DO NOT GO! The other reviews here are correct. This restaurant has severe management problems and ridiculous wait times. You will be treated as a nuisance from the moment you walk in to the moment you have no choice but to leave after waiting an hour and a half for your food that will never arrive. I've worked in food service for years, I know how it is, I don't want to be worshipped as a customer. Your ranch dressing isn't as important as you think. People are busy. However, I would be ashamed to work here, and can tell the staff suffers from toxic mismanagement, laziness and unaccountability. Our waitress did just fine, but wasn't at all transparent about why we needed to wait as long as we did, especially given that the restaurant in the late afternoon was at not more than 20% capacity. Our entire row and row across was fully empty. The worst part? After hearing screaming and cursing from the kitchen each time the door was open, after asking to speak to the manager to see what could be done, after watching the manager argue with cooks and wait staff and going out to smoke a cigarette, the best she could do was offer to not charge for our coffee ... which she essentially whispered to us, which was strange. We learned our lesson and left. Save yourself the trouble. Go eat somewhere else! read more

Before stating what our experience was the last time we were in this week I'd like to say that one person makes a huge difference in how your business is perceived. The two times we visited this location in the last week was a good experience. The young man with tattoos on his hand was very attentive and a great server the two times we were there prior. We did not want for anything and were always checked on. He greeted us at the door promptly and was very quick getting our drinks, order, food, etc. That being said we went in before leaving town yesterday and had a horrible experience. We waited at the front door 10 minutes to be seated and still did not get sat. So we sat ourselves because the three people who saw us in the back were certainly not willing to do. The three wait staff at the very back table near kitchen were rolling silverware and playing on their phones saw us waiting to be seated and still did not get up to seat us. Another couple who were the only others in the restaurant said they just sat themselves because nobody greeted them either. So we sat ourselves. About five minutes later a young man who had been sitting at the table in the back with two girls came over and took our drink order. We ordered 2 teas with Splenda and sweet n low. He brought the drinks but no sweetener. We waited about 10 minutes and still no sweetener or coming to take our order. We got up and went to the back table where the three employees were sitting and let him know we were ready to order. He was on his cell phone. When he came over to get our order we asked for sweetener and got it. There was another couple sitting at a table across from us and they had to get up and holler across the restaurant to tell the waitress what they needed several times. The waitress are facial expressions when the couple had to practically beg for what they needed. We placed our order and I asked to sub the bacon and sausage for the pancakes and hash-browns. When the food arrived I got hash browns and pancakes and no bacon or sausage. Instead of mentioning it I just accepted that the experience was not good and obviously he was not listening or concerned about us . After he left and dropped off the food we had to get his attention again and let him know we needed silverware to wear with and refills. The wait staff present on that day at that time need to be made aware that they are there to work and not sit around doing nothing. Let the ping man with tattoos on his hands how them how you are supposed to treat customers. Customers shouldn't be treated like they are a pain when asking for the simplest service. Tables around us were also not busses or clean and nobody else was in the place. Really poor work ethic. read more

Alice, TX Ihop location has employees who are thieves & liars they will add unauthorized tips to your ticket once you leave. Plus they have a manager who apparently is aware of this behavior & says to us on the waiter who stole from us also took from the company also. Manager is unprofessional & not very customer oriented. As well there's another married couple that are employed there & act shady as well on bringing out food then ring up tickets among them two.. As for the food I've definitely had better small portions here never get ordered toast no refills or syrup for pancakes. Service is extremely slow don't waste your time & money. read more

I'd give this place a 0 if I could. I was immediately worried when I entered and there was a waitress aggressively cleaning tables and throwing chairs together. It was the only thing open so we had no choice. Our waitress was nice but clearly just a pawn in the chaos that was this iHop staff. We literally would hear people yelling "F@$&!" in the kitchen. We waited patiently for an hour and fifteen minutes--asked twice when our order would come out and were told "they're working on it now." We asked for the manager nicely--who, after being told what happened, and making us wait longer, informed us she could take off charge for JUST our coffee. It was really rude and non-transparent, making customers feel like they have no respect. We left without our food. I would call Gordon Ramsay on this ASAP. read more

On Saturday September 19, 2020 I went to the IHop in Alice Tx. Went with the intentions of eating a breakfast sampler. Arrived and the table they were sitting me at was not clean something was spilled. Finally got to see down and the male waiter asked what I wanted to drink. I told him coffee. Two other customers arrived and the got service quickly and I was still waiting for my coffee that never arrived. Other people were getting service but I felt ignored. They made me seem that I didn't deserve service. After 20 minutes I got up and walked out. Made a 30 minute trip to Kingsville, Tx and went to IHop there where I got service a meal a truly enjoyed. Never again will I go to the IHop in Alice, Tx. read more

Zero stars!!!! I have been here 3 times and it has been the same headache as soon as we walk in till we leave. There is no overhead everyone is lost for some reason, no hosts at stand so always a line, also it's never too busy and seems like we wait forever for our food, they need some type of management poor people get it together this place sucks! read more
