I just experienced the worst dining experience in my life today at the Dodge City IHOP. It was the lunch time and I waited 30 min for my burger. The waitress came out of the kitchen area and noticed me looking around...I was ready to bolt. She told me, "You're order should be out right away...we had a 'computer problem'."What does that mean? I have no idea. Finally, my burger came out and my waitress asked if I needed anything I reminded her that I hadn't received silverware. She came back to report, "I'm sorry, we're out of silverware." WHAT??? I've never heard of this. On top of this, the cheese on my burger must have slipped off and got burned making it hard and chewy. On top of this, not once did she refill my water and had a lengthy conversation with the booth next to mine about her family history...I just wanted to check out and forget this miserable experience. I'm not a fussy and difficult person but this was beyond the pale. read more

We hosted other family as they traveled through town. Memorial Day 2025. *Service was S L O W despite being almost empty. Appeared to be a matter of understaffing. *Ambiance was normal IHOP. When we mentioned it when we paid our bill she looked at us and ask you wanted more? Biscuits and gravy was horrible they had a weird taste. The bacon was burnt and some were hardly cooked. After fasting for hours for a medical procedure we went to I Hop. Have not been to one in many years. Was around 11am was quiet . Seated fast, all was clean . Waitress was friendly but spoke so fast we asked her to slow down a bit. She was very sweet about it. I ordered the 2x2x2. Two sausage links( forgot to tell her wanted patties) eggs scrambled and 2 pancakes and coffee. He had biscuits and gravy, eggs and bacon with hash browns. Eggs were very over cooked, kinda of rubbery. Bacon he got one piece was questionable, the other was skinny and a but over done. The rest was so so. We both were a bit disappointed,but the food was edible and we were hungry. I would eat there again just to see if maybe it was just an off day food wise for them it happens. read more

My wife and I went here because it was next to our hotel. We ordered two eggs, sausage links, hashbrowns with a side order of biscuits and gravy. Had to cut the burnt parts off of my eggs. Gravy was obviously made with water not milk. When it came time to pay, my bill was $54.00 for breakfast for two people. I told them I could have got steak for that price. The manager came over and said the problem was the biscuits and gravy. She took that off the bill and I ended up paying $40.00. Left no tip after that. This was our second and last meal we will ever buy from Ihop. Used to love this restaurant but over the years the quality left the building. read more

Service was amazing, immediately seated and served. Food was good as ever with their great pancakes. And our table was clean!

My fiancé and I were traveling through town when our truck broke down. this IHOP allowed me to wait in their air conditioning while my fiancé repaired our truck at the Autozone across the street. They treated me with so much kindness and even brought me free coffee. The manager personally checked on me several times. Once our truck was repaired we had a great lunch here before getting back on the road! Thank you IHOP! read more

We were not greeted by staff but waited till they were all done talking in the back of the restaurant. Tables were dirty and there was only 1 other table occupied so should have been spotless. Opposite to other reviews for this place I'll give this place 4 stars mainly for the service. My server was fast and attentive. I was promptly seated and my order taken. The food, cheesy chicken breast was as expected decent "fast food" fare. My server checked repeatedly to see if everything was ok and to offer refills. The restaurant is very clean and well maintained. I'd stop here again when in Dodge City. read more

Discusting. How can you mess up breakfast? Hash browns were mush the bacon was fatty and limp and the stuffed French toast was cold in the center. The only thing I could finish entirely was the eggs. This ihop makes you wait a long time for a table but there were a lot of empty tables already. Then the waiter seemed utterly distracted, doing both the jobs of host and waiter. While we waited, at least 10 parties left because they were told the wait would be at least 45 mins. There was plenty of staff, but the manager was wandering around aimlessly. I travel through Dodge City once or twice a year and the last couple years got in the habit of stopping here. I like this restaurant! The food is great and so is the service! Worst service I've had in a long time. Restaurant was mostly empty but it still took at least 20-30 min to get seated. They then sat us at a dirty table with syrup all over it. The hostess did a very quick wipe of the table with paper towels but the table was still dirty and sticky. I had to get out my own sanitizer wipes from my purse to clean it myself. We had to ask multiple times for everything we needed (creamer, ketchup, hot sauce, refills). My breakfast never even arrived with the rest of the tables and I had to ask the server to find it. My eggs arrived super over cooked with dried crusty egg mixed in with it. I would not recommend this location to anyone unless they can improve some things. read more

While I was seated immediately, there was only one other couple in the place......I was waited on quickly and ordered the grilled chicken with butter corn, red skin mashed potatoes and a small side salad with water to drink and mozzarella sticks to go (took back to hotel for later).... After ordering three other tables were seated and two of those three received their orders before mine.... When I finally received my order, the grilled chicken was excellent and juicy, corn was near perfect but I was given the wrong potatoes as I was given diced potatoes with chopped onion and pepper on them (both of which I can not eat) and they were barely lukewarm......plus instead of a salad I was given two pancakes which I was told were automatically given with all orders....The pancakes were cold.......where was my salad? I asked to see her order sheet and pointed out I had the wrong potatoes, she said I did not while her order sheet said I ordered the red skinned mashed potatoes..... While I ate, the waitress came back just once and never came to a complete stop when asking if everything was ok....my mouth was full and I was unable to answer before she hustled away - I needed a refill of my water but she paid no attention....glad I was able to use the ice for water... Other customers had staff come back several times to check and ask about needing refills - guess I got stuck with the impatient one.... When I left I clarified with her at the register what was wrong with my order, no offer of a discount just a 'oh well, it happens'....I told her I had 20+ years of food service experience and I was trying to help her learn, did not seem too interested..... Will I be back again, maybe but only if I get another wait person and next time I will not be as polite from the start...... Came here Sunday afternoon, it was pretty busy but not at capacity. We were seated and had to wait twenty minutes for a waiter to get our drink orders. Food took 35-40 minutes to finally get here. Never received silverware, straws, or butter, even upon request. That being said, the food was fairly decent but not prepared how we ordered it (asked for berries on the side of the crape). Other tables suffered from similar problems including one older couple who'd been there before us and were still there when we left. Only saw 'our' waiter twice for ordering and the check; he didn't bring out our food and never checked up on us. A lady informed us they'd lost the areas tickets (where we were seated). In the end, the waiter had the audacity to remind us where the tip should be placed on the ticket! Doubt we'll stop here again. read more

I would chose Zero stars but it would not let me. Service was the slowest I have ever experienced. Told it would be 15 minutes so we (table of 4) waited, seated after about 40 minutes. Ordered drinks and food then watched as a table of 4 seated 15 minutes after us and 2 other tables, ordered their food. Table of 4 were done and getting their check and our food was still nowhere to be seen. Asked for the manager, server of the table of 4 arrived and asked what the problem was - he was rude and acted as if they idea of customer service was completely new to him. The reason her gave for poor service and long wait was that they had received many To-Go orders. Huhhh? Evidently the To-Go orders only impacted the tables of the other servers. I asked if he was the manager, NO, he was the shift leader - no manager present. Few servers and many empty tables - same as you will see in many other reviews. We tried this same IHOP last week and left after waiting for app. 1 hour - we were hoping the previous visit was just a bad day - it wasn't. Poor service, poor management, poor customer service - wish I could rate the food but after two visits (there will be no more) we still haven't eaten! Terrible. Absolutely terrible. It's the third time now that I've gone to iHop, spent $30+ on food and been entirely dissatisfied. The omelets were soggy, the sausage (inside them) cheap and seemingly undercooked -- because it's made me sick to my stomach the last three times I've gotten it. Which, is a true shame, because I love iHop! I can't enjoy my pancakes either because they smelled terrible and were rubbery! Probably the most disappointing part of the entire meal was the hashbrowns. They were soggy and soaked through with grease. I took a few nibbles and saw all the residue in the plate and was grossed out. I've tried and tried and tried once more. Now I'm done with iHop. My husband and I generally have enjoyed this particular IHOP, but over the last couple months, things have changed. The food is still excellent but service now fails. For example, today I ordered an entree that comes with choice of salad or pancakes. I was not asked which I wanted. I was simply served pancakes WITH my dinner. I expected to be asked if I wanted salad. (I got the beef tips so yeah. I'm not eating pancakes with that) I also expected to get the appetizer part BEFORE I got my entree. Ok. Cool. Maybe new server. Between him and the hostess who acted like she didn't care, it wasn't our favorite visit. Perhaps management might take a few days and go over proper service standards and techniques with staff. Things like dressing in appropriate uniform wear (not torn faded jeans), and not dropping the check and saying "whenever you're ready" then chatting with the hostess for 7 full minutes. We were ready the second you dropped the ticket! Also, not staring blankly while completing the transaction would be good. A "was everything good?" Or "thank you for eating with us today" or even a freaking smile would have been GREAT! Overall, just pick it up, perk it up, and act like you care even though you really don't. It'll get you more than the dollar we ended up leaving you. read more

I do not recommend the IHOP (or IHOB, whichever you prefer to call it) in this specific area because the food delivery service is subpar at best. I arrived at the restaurant around 6:15 and got my food a little after 7 so the whole process took about 45 minutes which shouldn't take that long for two burgers. What really upset me though is the fact that a family of six came into the restaurant 10 minutes after us, got their food before us, finished, and left all before we got our food maybe about 10 minutes after that. Our server did come check on us and apologize for the wait several times so I don't have a problem with him. I have a problem with the fact that we had to wait a lot longer than a family of six to get just two burgers. read more
