IHOP, the International House of Pancakes, is kinda like the Waffle House or Applebee's ... perhaps. When I'd crave pancakes, eggs & bacon, back in the 90s & into the early 2000s, this is where I'd go. Eventually more brunch type spots started opening up all over Metro Vancouver & offered better options & more variety, so IHOP kinda fell by the wayside for me. Today I was in Langley visiting family & a dear aunt enjoys her pancakes, so we met up at IHOP. I had not been to IHOP in awhile. I actually think it has improved tremendously & our waiter was excellent. The variety of options on the menu & at the right price, make this a must go to for breakfast or that late afternoon bite stopover. Portions are generous & the food is tasty on point. IHOP still has that ol time diner feel to it, but there's nothing wrong with that. National Pancake Day is coming up on March 3. When I got there near the evening time, the establishment was almost vacant, so me and my friend did not have to wait. I ordered the Maple Bacon Pancakes Combo, including bacon and sunny-side eggs with the Cookie Butter Milkshake. My friend had the Strawberry French Toast with a Mimosa. The platter tasted terrific while the pancakes were sublime since I always wanted to try bacon pancakes. The milkshake was overwhelmingly flavoursome and creamy. My friend enjoyed his meal a lot as well. The service I consider to be admirable. Coming to these IHOP locations made me wish that the one in Abbotsford was still in business since I do not get to enjoy their food as often as before. We usually enjoy visiting the Langley IHOP but on July 2 when we arrived at 2:15 PM we were told we could not be served because we were past "last call" even though the sign and online said the restaurant was open till 3. May we suggest you adjust your sign so people know not to expect service after 2 p.m. Update: IHOP responded, looked into and described it as a misunderstanding and emphasized anyone who shows up before 3 p.m. should be served. read more

Food was amazing and the service exceptional! Have not been there for about a year and was pleasantly surprised with my breakfast order. Eggs were as requested with sausages and nicely browned hash-browns. My order came with one piece of French toast which was also amazing. We waited for 30 mins to be seated because this IHOP was busy for a Saturday morning. I can honestly say it was worth the wait. Overall, the atmosphere was fairly comfortable though the seats were a bit stiff and the Hostess at the counter didn't do much to communicate, even seeming to ignore our standing in the door for the first few minutes when we entered looking for a table. Some of the service could definitely be improved there. When our name was called we were seated and served coffee right off the hop. Our server was fairly busy and it showed but I don't hold this against her; she was friendly enough, just tired, and it showed she had little time for extra pleasantries - which was understandable since it was so packed. We ordered our food and it came pretty fast for a location that is currently hiring kitchen staff, so colour me impressed The eggs were cooked well, not overdone, the sausage had a nice snap to the skin, and the hash browns were just the right amount of seasoned with a nice soft yet crispy bite. Now the pancakes... to die for. Soft, fluffy, buttery goodness dowsed in the classic syrup? Mmmm, it hit the spot. First time here and had brunch and our experienced was very good. We waited 15 minutes to get seated and staff are friendly, attentive with your needs and also wearing PPE. There's something about IHOP (not IHOB) that screams family friendly and that's why my family and I chose the restaurant for our family brunch get together. From babies to seniors, everybody really enjoyed the service from the attentive server and friendly host. My parents absolutely loved the senior menu (nothing makes a senior happier than saving money). They don't tend to prefer western food but thought the IHOP menu was great. There's such a great selection of menu items and "build your own" breakfasts that really caters to one's unique taste. The portions are huge for the price, and the flavour is decent for breakfast. Can you really go wrong with breakfast? I chose to build my own pancake combo and chose the featured Mexican tres leche pancakes with sausages, eggs, and hash browns. The pancakes were good, nice and fluffy, but I didn't think the flavour was anything unique or special. I was expecting stronger flavours. Overall, the casual setting and great service makes it a great choice for catching up with friends and family. The food is decent too. read more

International House of Pancakes is a wonderful place to enjoy ur sunday brunch( especially) Oh ! They do have long waits though. We checked out 2 other I-hop restaurants before driving all the way from surrey to langley and still had to wait for atleast 25 mins. ( not bad ) Interior is newly renovated with modern dinning tables n couches including the washrooms. They also have a bar counter area where u see the servers preparing ur yummy food. I would say these guys have the best hosts n servers. In spite of it being very busy , all of them were so cheerful n welcoming. They were very helpful with each others responsibility as i see the manager cleaning the tables, helping cleints with little things like Air conditioner adjustments. ( that was me) Now talk about food n u make my mouth water. Variety of pancakes, french toast with loads of fruit , omelette choices , toast n sandwiches , side options, entrees n drinks from hot to cold. It tastes so fresh n good. A big pot of coffee or milk shake- whatever u order would be gracefully served. Servers keep checking with u if there is anything else u would need n once done . Food & service was good. Woman's bathroom water is cold... ice cold with now way to adjust as it is an automated single tap. Ran the water for over one min. (On high) and the temperature did not change. Washing hands with warm water is not necessary to properly clean hands, with soap. What is recommended 15-20 seconds. Dropped by here on a Wednesday morning at 9am. I'm glad we came at that hour, because the crowd grew quite big shortly afterwards. Wednesday's are 2 for 1 for seniors; news to me, as I rarely go to iHOP. We were seated very quickly, given water to start, and ended up ordering the the spinach & mushroom omelette (no onion, extra mushrooms and add avocado), a stack of blueberry pancakes, two sides of hash browns and a coffee. The food was okay, nothing exceptional. Typical fast food breakfast. Service could have been a lot better. It seemed like they were a bit short staffed and as a result there was a lack of communication. I paid the bill early so my friend and I didn't have to worry about dealing with the crowd afterwards, and then was given the receipt again to pay at the front. Threw me off a bit, but once again, I'm guessing it was because of how busy they were. If you're going westbound after you're done eating, it might take a bit of maneuvering for that to happen. The main exit onto highway 10 is a right turn only, and I'm not 100% certain if there are other exits available. Something to keep in mind if you go. read more

First of all, it's not my kind of breakfast place. Being from Montreal, I am used to piles of fresh fruit on my plate and great bacon with my eggs. This is not one of hose places. This is an American institution, and here you can find an American breakfast. I am surprised at how busy they are, though it is true that breakfast joints are few and far between. The guy at the front desk was very kind, though, and the wait wasn't excessive this time. If ever you are faced with too much of a wait, I suggest you try out Cora instead. We were waited on by a very tired sounding lady who was not so much grumpy as she was simply curt. Food came quickly enough but it turned out to be someone else's order! After a quick switcheroo we ate. Husband had an omelet which he always enjoys while I had simple eggs and bacon with toast, as I often feel nauseous after eating their pancakes. The eggs were perfectly done, over easy, but the bacon was hard like jerkey. I wasn't too impressed. All in all this place is good as a last resort or if your husband didn't grow up in Montreal. Being a pancake breakfast lover, naturally an international house of pancakes seems like the best idea in my neighborhood when I crave some pancakes. Because I work evenings I will often grab something after my shift to come home with and eat before I go to bed so I constantly call and place pickup orders. Unfortunately I have boycotted this Ihop due to their lack of service and professionalism. On several occasions they take my order wrong ( ask for chocolate chip pancakes they give me regular) forget the maple syrup ( really? At a pancake restaurant?) Or my personal favorite moment, I called to be put on hold then the girl who answered the phone said she was too busy to take my order and only a server could do it and she wasnt a server. Which fascinated me since we went back and forth on this idea as I explained the time we spent arguing she could have had my order ready. The one that really got me was this brown kid that works there had the nerve to hit on my girlfriend in front of me. Which the kid had a lot of balls for considering at clubs I usually punch someones lights out. Ill give them this. The food is up to franchise standard. But the service is horrible. Came in for breakfast after I dropped my car off at the dealer. Very packed, but we were seated quickly. Waiter was very polite and attentive. The service here is great. The quality of food though, is not that good. Ordered a breakfast platter, hash brown looks like it was plopped on. Very messy. No love in the plating. Sausages and bacon were cold when they came out. Charged us for an extra glass of OJ, but that wasn't a problem when we spoke to one of the waitresses. Overall, the restaurant had very good service. Typical iHop on a Sunday, busy busy. Service, food, also very typical for a fast sit down meal. What's not typical and actually pretty annoying, tacky & unnecessary is the overhead speakers announcing the orders to the wait staff. You're not a Walmart, you're a restaurant, and not even a larger one than any other. So all the patrons get the joy of overhead blurbs every 1-2 minutes each time an order comes up. Super. So, generally IHOP is just IHOP. They do a good greasy spoon breakfast and always have some delicious, diabetes inducing pancake options. Having said that, our waitress at this location was SO AWESOME that I was really tempted to give them an extra star just for her! All IHOPS are not created equal. This IHOP always seems to be busy on the weekend which really surprises me because it's not that great as far as IHOPs go. The service is really great and waitresses are nice but the food is always so much more greasy for some reason. Even pancakes had grease markings on them. Maybe they flip them with the same tool they use to flip bacon or something? I'm not sure. Expect usual IHOP tastes with a little extra grease. Friendly staff. read more

If you like your food microwaved including the steak this is the place for you . I used to like the breakfast here but that was years ago. I do not know what happened but they even manage to screw up eggs . On the other hand they do love to use grease, a whole lot of it. Even the toast drips with it.
