Do better. As a traveler heading back toward the border, we stopped here expecting a quick, decent bite--it's IHOP, not a fine dining establishment. And yet, it managed to disappoint on every front. We walked into a half-empty restaurant and still had to wait to be seated. Once we were finally acknowledged, the service was painfully slow. Getting our order taken took forever despite no real crowd. Employees seemed disorganized, inattentive, and utterly uninterested in providing basic service. It shouldn't take 15+ minutes just to get drinks in a restaurant that's not remotely full. There's no excuse for the kind of disarray we experienced. For the diner it is, I was happily surprised. They have turkey bacon and some high protein options to choose from. The pancakes are really good--as expected but my biggest gripe is that a breakfast chain as big as IHOP doesn't have real maple syrup. It's good for what it is, but pleasantly surprised. read more

I love their turkey melt on multigrain bread. It is smooth and tender. I like their choice of cheese as it was not oily or greasy. Customer Service is personal and quick and the ambiance is clean. One regret is that IHOP no longer offers potato pancakes which has been one of my all time favorite foods in the world and is now gone for good. read more

Went to I-Hop breakfast today to celebrate our Son's 18th Birthday. Told the Hostess that we were there to celebrate his big day. We were seated Host's took our drink orders. Server got our food order. Drinks and food were delivered to the table with extra napkins and the Bill. To never been seen again. No one asked us if our food was ok, if we needed anything else. Stopped by for an impromptu dinner tonight. Didn't even realize it was Free pancake day so that was cool. It was very busy and service was very slow. Drinks were not refilled, had to ask for them to be refilled. Frustrating when you're paying $3.29 for a fountain pop. Our visit in total took an hour and a half, much too long when you're dining with a hungry 3 year old. The server was sweet and patient, but seemed to be run off her feet. Not her fault at all. The food was decent but the hash browns were undercooked and oily. Not your usual crispy hash browns you expect from IHOP. That was a little disappointing. All in all, appreciated the free short stack, but wished they would have had adequate staffing for the event. read more

Very convenient location. But interior deco, bathroom and eating plates need upgrade. Especially I didn't like when I found lots of scratches on the plate and makes unpleasant noise. Love the pancakes and the 4 types of syrups available - old fashioned, butter pecan, blueberry and strawberry. Soft fluffy buttermilk pancakes just make a good start to the day. To keep the pancakes warm, they can accommodate your request for the pancakes to be served later. I had my usual order of the country fried steak and eggs. It was still good though I think the fried beef steak seemed to have shrunk? Then again, I could never finish the whole thing so it does not matter that much. The beef steak was coated with flour and fried till crispy (meat was not dry) and then smothered with the yummy gravy. A good place for a wholesome hearty breakfast or brunch. They do serve other food like burgers, sandwiches, steak, crepes and waffles. But the highlight for me is always the pancakes. read more

We love I hop and the location on Scott rd is under Reno so we made our way over to the south surrey location. The service and food was great but this review has to do with the setting and quality of experience. The booths are disgusting and ripped up in the corners with the internal foam exposed , honestly looks like rats have gone at it. In my opinion any place that serves food should not only meet kitchen and hygiene standards but also image and atmosphere is key and even more so when the average cost of a plate is $14+ Not sure if I could return to this location until this is repaired it could easily be fixed with the profit margins they make in on single day. Ordered my food at 11 am it said it would be ready by 11:30, i understand that the restaurant was busy, but i waited for 35 minutes before the order came out, in total it took them 55 minutes to make an order, also terrible customer service by the manager shrugged me off when i asked about my order, I'd suggest to pause the mobile ordering while the restaurant is busy to help support the staff more. read more

This place was renovated recently so the interior and cleanliness are decent. Food is just what you'd expect of any other IHOP, it's not anything to sing praises about but at least it tastes consistent every time. That being said the service is honestly pretty bad. You'll regularly wait half an hour or longer to get your food and there is a lot of regular customer favouritism--expect that your servers won't come check on you or make conversation unless they know you name and face. In summary, does the job when you feel like breakfast but only go if you're okay with the wait. read more

For $36 for two people, this was an absolute joke. Why do people waste their money on garbage like this? The bacon was hard and chewy, sausages tasted odd (chemicals?), the hash browns also had an odd flavor and the eggs were from a bag, not cracked eggs plus the pancakes weren't cooked fully. To top that off, the crappy coffee was $6 for a carafe! WTF! Never again. Worst breakfast of my life. read more

I just had a big breakfast at this place and I have to say I am very disappointed. The service staff are fine. I was seated almost immediately and after 5 minutes got my order in. I made it a point to look at my watch to see how long my order would take. After about 20 minutes my server asked the cook in the kitchen where the Bacon Omlette was and she said it was coming. Actually, she had not even started to cook it, I was seated across from the kitchen and could see what she was or was not doing. I finally received my meal and started eating, but I had already lost my appetite and only ate 1/3 of it. I had anticipated that I could not eat all the food and had a container in my purse. I put the rest of the meal in it and paid my bill. I am a regular patron at this place and have been so for over 15 years. I am wondering it I will return. I am an 81 year old widow now and look forward to eating out once in a while. I will think again before returning. read more

DO NOT eat the fresh fruit. They are reused from old customers. Once the plate goes in the back kitchen the cooks & Manager will just slide it back into the bucket of old/reused/new fruit. Packed to the rafters for breakfast/brunch on a weekend, but we usually sneak past them and sit at the counter. We have great fun watching all the plates fly by and chatting with various staff. The staff are from a time gone by. Kind, efficient and very knowledgeable and will go the extra mile to ensure your meal is the best. I would give zero if offered. After seated, 15 min for someone to even offer water. The water then took 10 min. The place was not even a 1/4 full and lots of staff. Our order went in they called our number 5 times. Our food finally delivered cold. Not one other employee took the initiative to get our order and give it to us. Definitely a fan of this place and would come back! Had such a terrible experience yesterday at this IHOP. Seated after a ten minute wait even tho there were numerous free tables. Waitress was very friendly and kind. Brought us coffees right away.. a little long wait to take our order but that was ok. We waited an hour for our food. Several other patrons did as well. No apology or excuse given. When we went to pay, we had to wait as well as the only person up front was taking names for their long wait for tables (?). When asked how our stay was, I said.."not very good actually.. having to wait over an hour for our food was unacceptable." Maypreet..your extremely unfriendly hostess gave me a blank stare and then said "so how will you be paying?" My mother began to use the debit machine and I said "really? Nothing at all?" Again, Maypreet and her blank stare. My mom said "not even an apology!" .. nothing from this horrible hostess. So disappointed in this service here today. I understand if you are short staffed or busy, but an apology or explanation.. even a smile would have helped. I wont be coming back here again. read more
