Visited Haven Kitcehn + Bar for date night on a Saturday evening. Their ambiance is amazing and it's a pretty big space. We got a reservation a day before and there were plenty of spots available. They had a big drinks menu and quiet a few food options as well. Best part was that they had lots of veggie options! Here's what we got: Drinks - :: Zero-proof pineapple fizz - it def looked as good as it tasted. Very refreshing and fruity! Really enjoyed it. :: Guava aperol margarita - delicious! I could taste the guava and the spice on the rim of the glass was perfectly paired with the drink Food - :: Parmesan plenta fries - was so excited to try it, I wasn't sure what to expect. The presentation was amazing, just wish they were a big more crispy but the dipping sauce it came with was really good :: Burrata Bucatini - calabrian chili vodka cream sauce, pancetta, burrata, ricotta, thai basil, grano padano 3/5 :: Brick half chicken - pretty good! I would give it a 4/5 it was really creamy and the chicken was cooked well but I don't think it was seasoned that well. I would say for the portion size and the food, it was a bit overpriced but definitely 5/5 for the ambiance! read more

It's been around a while, and for some reason we didn't stop in. We did so today and have to say we are conflicted like so many others, and in many ways. It's a stunning space, maybe the best in Langley that we have seen. The entrance is physical, with a wallpaper you'll never see, the shell shape is a statement. The hallway to the washrooms requires some attention with the light and to the reality of the place. The service was top notch, with the two staff members taking care of all of the tables with a well choreographed movement of product. The food, we wish, had reached the level of the service. The best item that we had was the Polenta fries with real Parmigiana Reggiano and a spicy Calabrian chili mayo and chive ash was in our mind fantastic! We'd come back for that alone. My Falafel pull apart sandwich had good flavour, but the corkscrew fried pickle was underwhelming and greasy. I don't know how they made the fries so dry, but they weren't good. The lovely K had the Spicy Peanut noodle bowl, which needed far more peanut flavour, more acid and maybe a little heat. The menu is quite eclectic, but might be a little too much so for some diners. That said the Polenta fries will bring us back, and we'll be trying to copy them at home. read more

My husband and I came here to try their 3-course tasting menu for $110 a few months ago. I feel like this restaurant is popular because it's aesthetically pleasing with a beautiful bar and patio. It's a nice place to drink as their cocktails are huge. However I wouldn't recommend coming here for dinner as the food fell short. The tasting menu included 1 appie to share between the 2 of us: tempura coconut prawns: it was clear the oil needed to be changed. The batter was dark and the shrimp was dry. 2 entree's: slow roasted lamb: this is the only dish that I didn't mind as the lamb wasn't overcooked, there was a lot of sauce and the the mac n cheese fritter was a nice side. 8oz AAA New York striploin: we ordered rare and our steak was cooked medium. The server told us "it may look more cooked because you're sitting outside, but I can return it to the kitchen." I feel like servers are trained to say that, but the second steak we received was actually cooked rare and had nothing to do with the sunlight. 1 dessert: pb & j cheesecake: this dessert was disgusting. It was like raspberry jelly on top of a rock hard layer of frozen peanut butter. Not what we pictured for cheesecake. We only took a few bites and left. read more

I arrived at 9 pm and was lucky to catch happy hour, which starts after 9 pm. I ordered the HAVEN BURGER for $19 (regularly $24.50) and the spicy peanut egg noodle salad $17 vs reg $23, along with a glass of Coke (free refills). The total came out to be $43.50 plus tip. Fries were plentiful. The restaurant is nice and clean (although I did send my water back due to some dirt or dust in it). The wine list on "copier paper" was wrinkled with food stain on it. That was ghetto considering this calibre of restaurant One cool feature is that you can adjust the lighting at the table by pushing a button on the lamp. Parking is free. Google Maps takes you to parking lot. You may think it's wrong but it's right. Just park and go to east side of building. You'll find door there. Opposite side of building has resto called Camp Beer The service was good, and the atmosphere was lively with a nice crowd. Besides the food, I think it might be a great spot to hang out at the bar for drinks. There was a crowd starting to form at bar. Gorgeously designed and aesthetically pleasing 5 star interiors that really enhanced the dining experience. Even the restrooms were beautiful. Had a lettuce wrapped Haven burger with sub kale Caesar salad and pbj cheesecake for dessert. Food was pretty good prob 4 stars. Pretty cool tropical themed restaurant by Willowbrook. Parking is available in the lot next to the building. I must say that the interior is fantastic. They nailed the tropical haven theme. There are plenty of trees, and lantern looking lights. Looks like most of the seating is actually in the upstairs mezzanine. Staff are friendly and professional. Food is pretty pricy here. My friends and I had already eaten, so we shared a dish of dill pickle fried chicken wings. There are some 10 wings in total. Nice and crispy, and the pickle slices add a bit of tang. Delicious. Haven was just heavenly. Came here on a whim for some late night eats and everything we had was just perfect. Started off with some crunchy tempura coconut prawns. The taste was perfect and the dipping sauce had a nice sweet heat as well. The poke bowl was a little overwhelming with the sesame chips as the ratio was a bit off to how much poke there was. Either cut down on the chips or increase the poke. My favourite dish was the noodles. Bursting with flavours that was sweet and tangy. The noodles were cooked well. My only disappointment was the lemongrass chicken skewer just tasted mostly like lemon. It's missing that authentic Asian lemongrass taste. This was my first time visiting Haven, and I was immediately impressed by their outdoor decor! The plants and waiting area with a fire pit felt very cozy and classy. Going inside, the decor felt bright and modern, with a lot of patterns and cool wallpaper. Service was friendly and attentive. As I was visiting on a Monday, it was all day happy hour, so my partner and I shared the Pipikaula ribs. I felt it was too salty, but the crisp outside and tender meat inside was perfect for me. The dipping sauce was okay for me - I think it could have done well with a little more acid to balance out the rib. The pork belly dish had wonderful hearty flavours! The sauce pulled everything together, along with the mushrooms and cabbage. The pork was tender and flavourful. The piece was very large and fatty (as it was pork belly), so we ended up taking a decent amount home. The salmon was cooked perfectly too! It was seasoned well, though I found the sauce to be too acidic and not sweet enough. I liked the charred gai lan and pea shoots garnish as it added to the freshness of the dish. The whipped potatoes for both entrées were done well! Smooth and soaked up flavours. I would come back to try more appetizers and entrées! read more

I believe I gave a 5 star review of Haven a while back. I remember enjoying it so much I went again to celebrate a friend's birthday and we loved it. This was 2 years ago. I recently went back to celebrate another friend's birthday, and while the ambiance and staff were amazing, the food was sadly not up to par. Everything tasted lile something was missing. My dish was good, but it was quite plain and not worth the cost imo. My friend ordered the noodle salad and that was quite disappointing. I could see she was not pleased. The truffle fries, which I recalled being one of my faves there was also quite lackluster. I know the last couple years with inflation have probably impacted their food, but it's such a shame considering I really loved this place. I would still go here with friends and hope we just went on an off day! read more

Haven has that strong positive,lively party vibe in a quite family friendly way. There are two floors and a patio inside the restaurant. Decor is great, wallpaper and pictures on the wall adds the glamorous touch to everything. Food wise the variety is abundant. Good mix of American and other cuisines. Drinks menu is also full fledged. Great place to hangout and I must say that patio is very private so amazing choice for a small get together or Christmas party. I will definitely visit again as I want to try more stuff. Two dishes we tried were outstanding. Cod fish was so fresh and I highly recommend the cocktail called zombie for rum lovers. Haven is a super cute place in Langley. The ambiance is on point as a casual yet upscale local spot to grab some food and drink. We came here work friends who live in Langley as they know we love a good cocktail and a unique atmosphere. The decor was really beautiful. I had the cocktail named the tourist and it was so good! It's visually appealing and came with a Haven branded bamboo straw as well as a pretty flower. We also got the coconut margarita which did not disappoint either. They have some happy hour drink specials too. For food we tried the Haven poke which is absolutely gorgeous with a giant cracker to eat the poke with. The truffle fries, which were good, and the bao buns which were also yummy. The service was excellent and the staff gave great recommendations. I came here with someone because I wanted to check it out. The ambiance is really nice inside and pretty and there's no shortage of private restrooms in the place which is nice. The only thing is for someone celiac or gluten intolerant there aren't many options. I did have to modify my order which was a lettuce wrap and a salad on the side but I swear the portion of the patty was so tiny. It looked like I got half of a patty so needless to say I had to have some snacks after we left the place. Our server was very friendly and attentive though. I guess this is more of a place you go for cocktails/drinks. It's a beautiful restaurant and the presentation of the food is really nice but I wish they would add more gluten free items to their menu or not have gluten in some of the sauces. Also it would be nice for them to have bigger portions, not so tiny. The lettuce wrap was good though but just not filling. I ordered the brick half chicken and it so dry that I sent it back and just had an appetizer of almond crusted goat cheese with crostini. It was good but it wasn't worth $22.00. My husband had the char sui salmon. It was good. The desserts were $15.00 and our cheesecake was a smaller serving than a grand marnier souffle we had a couple of weeks ago at Le crocodile. Le crocodile is very upscale and the service, food and pricing was so much better than Haven. Their website says that they are modern casual dining but they are charging fine dining prices. It's a shame because it is relatively close to us. The restaurant is very loud unless you sit on the heated patio. Service was decent, food is average at best and prices are high. Really beautiful location with terrific service and great ambience. I had a non alc coconut lime marg and it was fantastic. We tried the sweet potato hummus which was delicious with the crispy chickpeas and chilli oil. I had pork belly for my main and although the bitter greens weren't my fav, the mash and yummy broth/sauce brought everything together so well. We opted out of dessert as we could not justify paying $17 for a piece of cake, hence the one star loss. Overall it was a great experience! read more

Came back again for lunch to have their Carrot Bliss Cake before it's gone for the season! Once again, sooo good. Also got the Pipikaula Dry Ribs and the Braised Pork Belly, and the Broiled Char Siu Salmon again. The Pipikaula Dry Ribs were too salty but still delicious--the outside was crisp and the inside was still tender for my soft mouth. The meat just slid off the bone. By the time we were eating the Braised Pork Belly, we were getting really full and the pork belly was pretty heavy to eat. The flavours were on point for me though--I loved the sauce and the mushrooms. Service was great as always and the ambiance was really nice in the daytime! Everything just hit the mark! There is a lovely upstairs area overlooking the downstairs portion that I highly recommend. I've sat both downstairs and upstairs before and I definitely preferred having the view offered from the upstairs area. I found the Bao Buns quite pricey ($16 for two), however they were delicious and is a unique fusion food that I've never seen elsewhere, so it's worth a try for the experience. All the other dishes aside from the Bao Buns came in good portions - the Miso Truffle fries could have been a full entree on its own! The pork belly was top notch and came with a generous serving of creamy mashed potatoes - my mouth is watering just remembering my meal while writing this review! Our waitress was super friendly and came by frequently to check on us so no complaints there! Definitely stands out aesthetically. The servers and ambiance were great, but the only reason I took off 1 star was due to the food. It's not to say the food was bad, but I felt that portion to price range could've been slightly better. Our table split the almond crusted brie and the truffle fries. The brie was good but I'm also a huge sucker for anything raspberry. The truffle fries were okie, crunchy and savory but the truffle was more of a smell than a flavor in my experience. I had their Szechuan chicken wings, which had an amazing fry to them as they remained crunchy despite being covered in the glaze. I do wish that it was slightly less sweet and perhaps more acidic or spicy to balance it out a little. read more

Stairway to Haven... This place has been recommended to me numerous times by one of my customer. But so far I didn't have much luck with recommendations. Nevertheless, I finally decided to give it a try since I have never been here before. This place is located on 64th avenue close to Willbrook Mall and its parking lot is located on its east side (don't mistaken park at the pub parking lot next to it). There is an enclosed patio on the outside, greeted by the hostess upon entering, bar to the left entrance, tables and booth seats on the other side with high ceiling, a flight of stairs lead to a second level of dining. The overall layout and vibe reminded me of Cactus Club and Joey's. Here were the food I ordered; 1. Haven Caesar (single shot). It was okay, pretty average. 2. Aelo apertivo spritz. A light refreshing taste, nice little mock tail. 3. Gyoza from another planet. A bit overkill with all the ingredients making the simple gyoza lost itself in space. 4. Tempura coconut prawns. A crunchier version of the coconut prawns that Whitespot and Milestone serve. Missing the "tempura" theme, a light fluffy crisp, which can be easier achieved. 5. Dill pickle fried chicken wings. A bit over cooked and barely notice any dill pickle taste. It was a bit bland without the house made ranch sauce. 6. Broiled char siu salmon. The sauce was giving the taste buds that intriguing and flavourful sensation. It blended very well with everything, unfortunately the salmon was overcooked and missing the light char on the edges to be considered "char siu". 7. 14oz AAA charbroiled ribeye steak. It was a lot of steak, nicely done but it reminded me of a country style steak. I personally find the sauce were more like a pasta sauce then a steak sauce. This is a nice little place if you are into the atmosphere and vibe in places like Cactus, Earles, and Joey, etc... The service here was quite friendly and attentive. Nice to see all the staffs were active all the time. As for the food, they were okay but fell a bit short on their descriptive theme (simple adjustment if desired to do so). Sometimes a simple adjustment can brighten the guiding light on the stairway to food haven. read more

Fantastic place and absolutely amazing service. We went in on a Monday evening for an impromptu girls night out and we're not disappointed at all. The drinks were amazing (I had Moscow mules) and so is the food. Truffle fries and sweet potato hummus is something you should not miss. We thought we would like the tofu bao buns but they were very sweet and you can avoid them. We didn't have the burgers but table next to us was having them and they looked good. Been a few times, great place for girls night or date night or any night! The fried pickle is 10/10 all I want honestly. Dill pickle chicken wings are a MUST! Truffle fries are bomb, but make sure you like the flavour of truffles. Servers are always really friendly. Last time i went i had the burger, like 4/10, just lacking flavour. Very flavourful but a bit less flavour than I was hoping for knowing it had a dukkah spice Brick Half Chicken - 9.5/10 - farmcrest farms chicken, herb gnocchi, wild mushrooms, lemongrass cream sauce, charred kale, herb oil, pea sprouts. The sauce was incredible, and the Gnocchi was really soft and pillowy. Hei Hei Chicken Sandwich - 7.5/10 - hoisin sesame marinated grilled chicken thighs, cucumber, bahn mi vegetables, spicy aioli, cilantro, toasted sub bun, with truffle fries. A decent take on a banh mi, but the bun was so bread that it really took away from the fillings. The truffle fries are incredible. Ladies night out. Reservation for 3 at 7pm Resturant is packed. Difficult to find parking so we just got dropped off. Decor was lovely, kinda made you feel Like you were somewhere else. Food selection - there weren't that many. But what we ordered everything was very good. We mostly went for the cocktails so I forgot to take pictures of the food. Cocktails were delicious ! There no better way to spend the remaining warm and sunny summer days than with some patio dining! And this is one you'd want to add to the list! The patio at Haven is just like it's name, where you feel safe and relaxed with the greenery and fountain. They also have a creative selection of cocktail. The Painkiller caught my eye with its cute pineapple cup and they were pretty generous with the rum in that drink! Almost every other table ordered one and I can see why! We originally came here for their happy hour but nothing really stood out to me amongst the 5 happy hour menu items listed. I ended up opting for their entree instead after seeing the Brick Half Chicken in the menu and am I glad I did! Celebrated a girlfriend's birthday at Haven two weekends ago. We ordered a bunch of appetizers and entrees to share family style. We ordered: Painkiller (cocktail), Tempura Cauliflower, Dill Pickle Fried Chicken Wings, Miso Truffle Fries, Chilled Marinated Edamame, Tourist (cocktail), Tempura Coconut Prawns, Sweet Potato Hummus, Haven Caesar Salad with Chicken, Longganisa Lettuce Wraps, and Spicy Peanut Noodle Bowl. Everything was delicious! The chicken wings were bomb and absolutely loved the truffle fries and tempura cauliflower. What's not in my pictures were the many many tequila shots and green tea shots that seemed never-ending. Was there 2 days in a row. Monday: 2 of us. Lots of servers and half price wine and appy day must work as place was packed. Ordered 2 Ohana bowls, (one with no gluten) and one with gluten was twice the size of the one without. Barely any rice even in GF one. Like two different meals. Still hungry after GF one. Tuesday: 4 of us. Very few servers and had to keep flagging ours as she seemed to have to look after a huge area. Customers were at a minimum tho. Gluten free options are few and far between. Unusual in todays world. Waggu carpaccio was more expensive than a dinner ($27) and was not worth the price. Would never know it was Waggu beef if not written on the menu. Pork belly was so fatty it was not even good. Salmon was tasty and wings and polenta fries were excellent. Deserts were tasty but very pricey, again lacking in GF options. Had to ask if BD person got a BD desert. ( I had phoned ahead and told yes but server didn't even offer until we asked. And it was very obvious it was a BD). Drinks specials were tasty but expensive and loaded in ice so very little drink. Asked for less ice in 2nd drink but nothing changed. Marguerita was tasty but very small. read more

One of the best dinners I've had in a loooong time. From the moment we sat down, our server was attentive and friendly. She had amazing recommendations from our drinks to our entres. The dry ribs were omg, sooo good! In fact, my son says Haven is now his favorite restaurant solely because of the dry ribs. read more
