My husband and I stopped in for brunch. We haven't been to an IHOP in years. The restaurant wasn't very busy, but there were many dirty tables and the restaurant didn't look or feel very clean overall. We both ordered the breakfast sampler. I had it with classic pancakes and he had it with strawberry banana pancakes. The food wasn't very good. The pancakes were the best part. The syrup was disgusting on the table and the lid was broken so I ended up getting it all over the place. We weren't impressed with the experience or the food. I doubt we will be back to this location anytime soon. read more

IHOP Marion, is clean, the food is good and the service is ok. Here is the problem: you can't get in the place. In the seven years we've been going there, getting seated is always a hassel--and not just when it's busy. No on seems to be in charge or is responsible for seating. There's always a wait and always an excuse. There is no sense of urgency at all. We again walked out this weekend with three other couples. Many tables available--but no way to get to then. We walked in to the waiting area at 6:00 PM and waited for the server. When she walked up she asked the people in front of us how many people they had. They replied 7 the server told them in a rude tone "I'm by myself I'm not taking any more big tables" as they walked out frustrated because they waited for nothing she asked me how many I had. I answered 5. She replied with a snarky attitude "um yeah I'm not taking anymore big tables". Put a sign on the door, politely tell people when they walk in you're short handed and can't handle it, maybe even call your manager. Oh boy where do I start with this god awful damn restaurant. Service was terrible, getting waters took 10+ minutes (restaurant was mostly empty). Servers here do not have basic hygiene and can be smelt across the restaurant, need to be taught to wash their ass. My server in specific was overheard speaking to a POC and extremely racist remarks were made. Food was damn cold. I ordered pancakes and they came out wrong, server told me that I was the wrong one. Possibly the best IHOP I've ever been to. The service was excellent, ambiance as one would expect. But, it was the food that was phenomenal. I made my own omelette since the old Country Omelette is no longer on the menu. All I got to say is that the omelette itself was massive, almost overflowing the edge of the plate itself. Worst experience ordering from DoorDash this morning. 1st both orders we're missing gravy. The other was also missing pancakes and the hash browns were burnt and appeared to be partially eaten. I went to this IHOP during a family road trip. I really love IHOP. This one is brand new, and only been open for a couple months. So the place looks great with really comfy booths. The food tasted and looked great, the waitress was very nice and attentive. The only thing that I thought was subpar was the wait time. My wife and I where greeted with "What's your last name?" as we came through the door. We where told there was a wait in a unprofessional manner. I noticed 3 other couples waiting. So far I really don't have an issue. A party of 5 comes in and was immediately seated. Now I have an issue. Host tells all that are waiting that there are plenty of larger tables available but we need to wait until a smaller table opens. I could understand if they where busy but not this situation. This was all done with an attitude that they really didn't care if we ate or not. With that being said, I am typing this while waiting for a table at Cracker Barrell. We were there for 15mins before waitress came over for drinks. After receiving the food (30 mins later) everything was cold. Eggs were supposed to be over medium and were hard and over cooked. Had to ask for spoon for soup after soup was already cold, asked for to go container for soup since it was cold, missing silverware and couldn't find anyone to help us, ketchup was nowhere to be found, I had to go find some, waitress never came back to pick up payment so had to switch to cash so we could just leave. The waitress was great with personality but the service was horrible. My scrambled eggs were cold upon arrival at the table. My spouse and I both asked for crispy bacon and it was very cooked. I explained the eggs were cold and the server immediately took them back to the kitchen and returned a few minutes later so hard I could hardly cut into scrambled eggs. Obviously they were put into the microwave. The server was working hard and seemed to have too many tables.
