This was our first visit since the new owners took over. I will say the service was better than we experienced before. There were plenty of servers, all tables were full, and we were seated immediately. We had a bit of a wait for the food to come out, but that was to be expected with the full restaurant. The food came out hot, and everything was good. The pancakes are still massive, and thick, with good flavor. The only thing I would change is the bacon. It's so thin and crunchy. A thick cut bacon would be better. We will be back to visit soon!

We had an amazing breakfast at The Vault Café in Marion, Illinois. Darien was amazing at getting us the table in the actual vault to enjoy our experience and Kylie was first class and was a great server. Don't miss your chance to have a great meal here with great people and a fantastic atmosphere.

Solid little cafe on the square in Marion. Coffee was fresh, and the "Good As Gold" was just that. Marion has a little gem that everyone's sleeping on.

Reuben and fried potatoes. The rye bread had a great texture.

Great cafe in downtown in an old bank building. Staff were very responsive, and I love the old decor and banking memorabilia. The food was good including the fried potatoes that were fresh cut. You can even eat in the bank vault at a table if its not already taken!

A small space, I think 10 tables, plus a large table and one table in vault. The main dining room is in the main bank area and is very echoey from the hard surfaces. I was surprised by how many employees Greer were, more employees in front than tables I would guess. Even with all the employees, service was just ok, our waitress did take our order promptly and the food came out fast, but then our waitress must have gone on break, because she disappeared for a very long time. It would have been nice if any of the other employees would have stopped by. I got the biscuits and gravy side order. It came with two biscuits and a small bowl of gravy. Biscuits seemed fresh and gravy was very creamy and tasty. I would have preferred more sausage in the gravy, but overall one of the better biscuits and gravy dishes I've had in So. Ill. My wife had eggs and bacon. She didn't like that the scrambled eggs came out very flat, made them hard to eat. But still good tasting. The menu doesn't have many selections, but the two things we had were good.

I haven't been to Marion in years, though I grew up in a town nearby. We were heading up to STL from Kentucky and driving straight through, decided to stop for lunch. So happy we did! The Vault Cafe is right on the main town square, but parking was easy to find, even with ongoing construction (forming a roundabout). Loved the high ceilings and how they kept parts of the bank. The service is fantastic - prompt and helpful. We ordered our daughter's lunch prior to ours and it arrived super fast! Also important, they provided a whole cup full of crayons instead of the regular 3-4 pack of crayons. It might have been a small thing for most, but it was a great surprise for my daughter. I had the special of the day, which was great - grilled cheese with cream of tomato soup (with homemade crutons). Everything was tasty.

If you're ever visiting Shawnee National Forest, you should make a stop for an amazing breakfast here! The staff was so friendly and easily accommodated our large group of 9. We loved the fact that it was an old bank and still had all the details too! The food was amazing - most of us tried one of their specialties like "Good as Gold" and "The Bank Roll". It was a good amount of food, so make sure you're hungry when you visit.

Stopped on our road trip to try this place for brunch based on Yelp reviews. It he area is a charming refurbished Main Street with accessible parking. Seems the building may still be needing construction with exposed, partially painted drywall and rough in electrical boxes. Service was friendly and efficient. The food was fine, but really not great. The French toast was soggy and chewy, not a great texture. No butter with the griddle items, whipped oil spread. Also the syrup is maple flavored breakfast syrup, not maple syrup. Eggs and bacon were good. The "bank roll" breakfast wrap was a little oily. There is a 3.5% service fee for credit card payments.

We ordered appetizers a calzone ( burnt in on end, blackened on the bottom -bitter tasting) and a sandwich ( warm, chips oily and soggy). It seems like there are only 2-3 staff working on a graduation / Mother's Day weekend ???? Service was slow but these folks were clearly overwhelmed. They were polite and apologetic for the food preparation time. There were very few folks there so they weren't slammed busy and overwhelmed, just overwhelmed. We likely won't be back. $325 Dinner and drinks bill and any chain place with mid quality drinks and food ( Chilis, Applebee's, Cheddars, ) would be 1/2 the cost and clearly better. An upscale place ( Flame, Texas Roadhouse, Outback) would be a way bether choice for comparable money. The Venue is stunning and looks clean. Hopefully they get it together, or get someone in the space who can. Disappointed at best.

My favorite was the crimson eclipse. Food- 3/5. We ordered some appetizers and they were a little disappointing/did not match the description of the menu. The margarita pizza was a little spicy. Fruit and cheese plate had some nice jam, but the presentation was off. Crab cakes were small. Also, the menu on their website was slightly outdated. I would still recommend this location as it's very classy, great for groups, and plenty of parking. Service was excellent. Indoor and outdoor seating.

Come in the morning for pancakes or come later for cupcakes and pie. The menu has lots of vegan options for those avoiding butter, eggs, and that kind of stuff. Charming interior that has a coziness about it. It's just as much of a bakery as it is a cafe, with display cases full of goodies and sweets. There's a good amount of indoor dining too. A lot come in here to pick up baked items at the counter. If dining in, have a seat. The menu is actually kind of big with tons of things. It's about $7 for a large latte. Kind of pricy, as far as coffee goes but it's good though. Has some non dairy milks. It's about $11 for the Vegan Waffles. Hearty and filling. There's also other plant based offerings such as tofu bowls at lunch. Has the best baked goods around. It's closed Mondays and Tuesdays. There's lots of things for vegans and vegetarians.

Instead decided to try the Branch Cafe even though when we ate there a year ago we had a hour wait so we hadn't been back since. Ordered two breakfast meals and coffee and soup. It was around 2:40 ish when the waitress offered to get us a dessert because of our wait. Mind you we got there a few minutes after 2 because I looked at my phone right before we pulled in to park. We ate dessert and were still waiting so we asked the waitress if our order was being cooked because if not, we were going to pay for our coffees and go elsewhere. Almost a one hour wait. The whole back room was empty so it wasn't busy. So the owner proceeds to come up and started to argue about when we got there. The waitress says things like "when you go to fine dining, you expect a wait" as if we've never been in a sit down restaurant in our life. The whole experience was horrible. My food was cold. The owner and waitress were extremely rude, combative and condescending. I don't know if the waitress forget to turn our order in or what, but it was almost right at an hour wait for some soup and few breakfast items. Will NEVER be back. Do with that what you will.
