I went to IHOP with my girlfriend recently and we both ordered pancakes, sausages, and eggs. The eggs were actually really good, cooked perfectly and tasted fresh. Unfortunately, the rest of the meal was a different story. The sausages and pancakes didn't sit right with us -- not long after eating, both of us started feeling sick, and my girlfriend ended up throwing up. We couldn't even finish our food. Really disappointing experience considering we were looking forward to a nice breakfast. P.S nice people. read more

Food was cold. Cold eggs are gross. Nothing on my plate was even remotely warm. Expensive for inedible food.

Ordered the split decision and it was fabulous! For an extra charge I upgraded the pancakes to New York Cheesecake with Strawberries, but it was absolutely worth it! The only thing that was a complete sticker shock was the coffee at $3.29 each, which is the most I've ever paid for coffee. The other person in my party ordered the split decision as well with plain buttermilk pancakes. The service was beyond exceptional, which her name was Kelsey S that waited on us. There is an advertisement in television for a $6 meal at IHOP. At the restaurant there is no mention of this promotion anywhere . Not on the table or in the menu . We asked it's in the corner of the e menu in the inside and the only way you know is because the price in tiny don't says $6? The server did not mention this special that IHOP is paying large money to advertise on national TV . Then we went the food 3 minutes after we ordered it m All if it was cold. Eggs cold, pancakes,cold. French toast, cold and sausage wait yes cold too. We told the server and she said she only worked there not her fault. We said we were going to leave as this happened before but the same location. She made us wait for the manager. He assured us that the food was just cooked. I had a curbside order, all of the staff was super kind. I ordered two sides of scrambled eggs which claimed to be 4 eggs total. The portion of egg received was 2 eggs maximum. I went inside to ask the host for my other side of eggs, she was very polite and was just the messenger however said the kitchen claimed all 4 eggs were in one container. The food was ok. But my wife and I asked that the hash browns be lightly cooked but came out over cooked and was very crunchy and neither my wife and I couldn't chew it with our dentures. I was going to send it back but didn't see waitress until we were finished. So we were charged for something we didn't eat. Had to ask for silverware, straws and hot syrup. When she brought ticket and instead of taking my card she shoved a handheld computer to us with her tip already in it. She didn't deserve any tip. We wanted a paper receipt. We started coming to the one on 24 highway to eat. But no more. We will start going to the one on Wanamaker if we have service like this again we will have to find a new place to eat read more

Visited the Hi-way 24 IHOP on 18 April 2024 for lunch. I ordered the pot roast dinner meal and my wife ordered the salmon dinner meal. My wife thought her dinner was fine - mine was not. The pot roast was terrible, it looked like someone had cooked a roast, removed it from the pan and then placed anything remaining in the roasting pan on my plate What I received was a small serving of burnt, stringy meat full of melted fat - it was almost inedible. I complained to the waitress about it and asked her to let the chef know that what he had served me was pathetic. read more

Went with my granddaughters 1,8 and 10 When all of a sudden The waitress walked up to the front hostess station threw menus on the station and was pissed when she saw us waiting to be seated screams I'm tried of this Fn Bs and walked away leaving us standing there, we waited to be seated quite a while I guess it was the manager who was talking to a customer who just got done paying was staring at us but never acknowledged us or apologized for the foul language! She was standing at the register and heard the waitress swearing my grand daughters really wanted to eat there or I would of left. After being seated our waitress came over Thank God it wasn't the one that had a melt down!!!!! Took our order and we ended up waiting another 46 minutes for or food baby was getting fussy by then all we order was pancakes and chicken and waffles place wasn't busy everyone were eating when we were seated and there was less then 20 people in the place this is the 4th time I've been there in 24 years and it sucked each time can't understand how they keep the doors open read more

May 4th 2022 two of us went to the IHOP on 24 HWY, Topeka. The waitress didn't know the menu. Meals were cold when received. The waitress didn't think they had tartar sauce for the fish dinner. She went away and ten minutes later she said she couldn't find any. She hadn't asked anyone else. Broccoli cold. Turkey dinner cold. Fish dinner cold. The turkey dinner missing the garnishes and gravy. It was so bad that I wrote a real letter to management and owners May 5th. I asked for a full refund. They have my address, email and phone number w/ answering machine. NEVER EVEN HEARD BACK. They don't freakin care about whether their food is bad. It's now the end of June and I'm permanently taking them off our list. I suggest you do the same. read more

When you're friend calls you asking for a tow, 5 hours away from your place, and he's in the middle of Kansas somewhere, IHOP is the only place open at 3am. Food was consistent for what you'd expect. Was glad to see that this restaurant is open around the clock. The pleasant cashier took my order for two burgers with fries and about 10 minutes later handed me our $29 order. The burgers were very overcooked! I wonder if they were on the griddle all day. read more

I hate to use the race card, but I can definitely say the way we were treated compared to light skinned customers was definitely different. We waited for about 18 minutes till I caught the attention of a waitress, and I informed her that we would like to place a to-go order. It took another ten minutes or so for someone to come take our order. We ordered a burrito and cheeseburger and it took 30 minutes for our food. It was approximately 1 AM and the place was not packed. I realized there was a problem when the cook came from the back and said he noticed we were waiting and asked us what we had ordered so he can make it. Which means the waitress, who initially took our order did not put our order in or informed the kitchen. Overall, we were here for an hour in the front waiting area for food. Due to everything else in the area being closed. This was our only option. At one point some other customers who came in to eat informed the staff that we were waiting and no one seemed to care. I came to have a nice breakfast with my friends but nothing was nice about it. It was very hot and are waiter was sweating all over. We then had to wait an hour and a half for our unfluffy pancakes that had been sweated in by our waiter and had been sitting out for 30 mins I do not recommend This restraunt. What a terrible experience! First of all bring a jacket, it's freezing in there. The service was great but the food was awful. We ordered eggs over easy ~ the yolks of the eggs were like those of a hard boiled egg. It's so cold in the restaurant you have to gobble your food down so it doesn't get cold. Me and 3 other friends got hungry tonight so we decided to go to iHop because we like eating there. Usually everything is as normal as an iHop can be but tonight was not one of those nights. We walk in and see they are fairly busy. We sit down and wait to be seated for almost 20 minutes. Finally someone comes and seats us only because we had been sitting in the waiting area for so long. We proceed to wait at our table for 2 hours. As the night went on it got worse. They were understaffed which is understandable but they got workers to come in. The workers who came in were piss drunk and stumbling around the restaurant. They were screaming at eachother in the back and we could hear it from fairly far away. The people who had been seated after us had already gotten their food and left but we were still sitting there with hour old drinks and still no food. The restaurant looked so busy but we tried it anyway with luck we got in right away with no wait time other then the hostess cleaning off the table. However there was two hostess, we asked for a booth because it works well for our child. The one girl walked away to clean it, while another customer walked in hostess girl #2 took the only booth left that hostess girl #1 had just cleaned for us but she had walked away from it to grab silverware. Our hostess was upset with the other one and as were we. That was the only booth left in the restaurant that we asked for first. Food was fine. Service was fast for it being so busy. We have been frequenting the IHOP in North Topeka since they opened. The food has been very good and they seem to take time to make it just the way you order. A few suggestions: there seems to be about 80% of the customers over the age of 50. When they put the children in the solarium area it is definitely more peaceful, quiet and enjoyable so we older people do not have to listen to screaming kids that ruin our meal. Also if you have to set in the waiting area the music is usually Hip Hop or rap or something that only a very few people would want to listen to plus it's very loud. We would come more often if we didn't have to listen to the screaming kids. We always notice other people are staring or shaking their heads since very few actually make their kids mind or be quiet in a public place. I think that would be a great Plus for your business. Lastly, obviously the amount of business was underestimated, the parking is very limited and the building is usually crowded. You would have more business if you were able to expand.
