I ordered a chair in May & it was to be delivered on 6/2 & they still show my order hasn't been prepared. You call & the recording states no calls and hangs up, you can't email unless to cancel but if you cancel you lose the shipping cost even if they haven't even bothered to process your order, and they refuse to respond on social media. I shouldn't lose money for shipping because the company is completely inept. read more

Worst customer service! I have tried going to the store to purchase items that say in stock only to find them not there. So the manager says to do click and collect to guarantee you get your items. After receiving a message that my out of stock item was again in stock I immediately purchased on click and collect to pick up the next day. Only to find out they don't pull your items right away and one of the items included in my bundle was yet again out of stock. AND to top it off they never let me know and had not refunded me! This was 15 mins before pick up time too. No email - no phone call - no this is what we can do for you. Just sorry - try again and we will try to get a refund for you. IKEA is the absolute worst!! Definitely looking elsewhere to find what we need. 6 months of run around is more than enough! Since way back in the 1960s when I discovered IKEA in Helsinki, Finland, I have loved shopping there. And now one is open within a 20-minute drive: hooray. I was afraid I would be disappointed because this location is all on one floor, compared to the Schaumburg, IL location. I WAS WRONG! The layout is awesome and they have everything the other stores have. Employees are helpful and look like they're having fun. I noticed staff can wear their hair all colors/styles and have tattoos - I really love that they let them be themselves. Products are awesome. I always find stuff I didn't know I needed. You have to EXPERIENCE Ikea. You'll be a fan. I know of no one, that's gone , that doesn't like it. Prices are great... space saving ideas cannot be beat. The cafe is in the middle -- try the meatballs! This store is very handicapped friendly. They even have mobility scooters. Clean bathrooms. Ample parking. So, the furniture is a pain to put together... that's what friends are for! I've been and will continue to be a customer for ages! read more

Very frustrating experience. We drove from 2 hours away to buy a sofa. Online info said it was in stock so we went, expecting to come home with the sofa. We pay for it then pull up our truck to load it. We are then told that because of where the sofa is located in the store they can't get it out safely until the store closes...?!?! So we can cancel our order or come back in four hours. Um, at no time during the purchasing process was this information given to us. And why is it listed as available at your store, online, if we can't buy it?! Wasted trip and we will look elsewhere for a sofa. read more

In my opinion the store is way too large. It is laid out like a laborinth or a maze . You must travel the maze, there is no direct routs or shortcuts out. If you want a chair or a bookshelf they on on display in several different locations, that are set up like furnished rooms. If at any time you decide to leave, you practically need a map. Or directions from an employee, if you can find one. Their products are not the high quality that they were in the past. read more

Tried going to IKEA today in Oak Creek. Police were blocking the entrances, with no information. We drove around and finally saw a sign saying to drive to the College Ave park and ride for the shuttle. Waited over 30 minutes and never saw one shuttle. If it's that busy for a backup parking plan, please provide adequate customer service. read more

I went to Ikea to purchase a shelving unit. The first time I purchased it, we asked that it be delivered with other items and when the delivery truck showed up, it had been forgotten. As a matter of fact, those delivered items ALL had to be returned due to a mistake on Ikea's end. We went to Ikea a second time to remedy the first errors made by Ikea. This time we purchased the shelving unit again, and bought a headboard and yes, requested that it be delivered. Two days later, I waited 4 hours, only to be disappointed that the delivery never even showed up. When I called Ikea, they told me they could do nothing about it and I needed to call the delivery company directly. I called, and after waiting for over an hour on speaker phone, I finally hung up.Today, I went back to Ikea to purchase the shelving unit FOR THE THIRD TIME, along with the headboard. Even though I had no business trying to lift something that heavy - I struggled enough and was able to push the darn things into the back of my car and drove it home. I went into the store and purchased a bed frame to be delivered the next week. I paid for them to get rid of my old mattress, bed frame and for installation of the new bed frame. The delivery service is a separate company that ikea goes through called North American logistics group. They came and dropped off the boxes while hardly saying a word. I had to remind them to take out my old mattress and then they left quietly without taking out my old bed frame. I called customer service of this company and was on hold for a majority of the phone call. She told me that she emailed they're manager but doesn't know if they will be coming out today or not. I never got a call back. I called ikea and they told me I was supposed to take apart the old bed frame or else they won't take it. Both ikea and the delivery service never told me this. She said she will get someone out today to take out the old bed frame as long as I take it apart myself. 4 hours later I never got a call back, couldn't get ahold of the same woman and ended up being sent to voicemail. No one showed up so I ended up doing it myself. Ikea also goes through a separate company for the installation process. I never confirmed an email (that I never got from them), so they also did not come to install the new bed frame. I wasted my entire day sitting around waiting for phone calls for services that I already paid for. This experience isn't even worthy of one star. read more

Don't shop at IKEA. Worst shopping experience. Went to Ilea to order furniture had list of items seen on display floor. Couch not available. Selected different couch. Since preferred delivery date was 6 weeks away told would have to pay $10/day to hold furniture otherwise wait until 2 weeks prior. Went back 2 weeks plus 2 days to order. Second couch no longer in stock nor was third choice all Of these couches plus first choice still on display floor Selected 4th choice of couch. Tried to order a table and chairs. Table not in stock. Picked 2nd choice. Ordered bedroom set. Told dressers and bedside tables would need to be bolted to the wall. Explained this is for an apartment and they will not be able to be bolted. Cancelled dressers and bedside tables preferred bed and mattress Received call 8 hours later that couch frame not in stock nor was the mattress did I want to come back and select another couch. On hold 4 hours trying to solve problem. Went to store to return all the items Took a long time. Staff not trained well due to being over whelmed by amount of customers. Quite possibly the worst shopping experience I have ever had. Super confusing to get around and find what you are looking for. Their products seemed to be made for midgets and everything was super low to the ground. I also did not like having to essentially walk through the entire store to get to the exit. So fun ikea is here! Spent 3 hrs there the first time just to check it all out. U think u don't need a cart but after the cafe-grab one. U do not get a bag at check out unless u buy a new one for $1.29. So-take cart outside and load or Bring your own bags. Ice cream after checkout was nice treat to the car. Cinnamon rolls were your typical rolls-with some butter and 10sec warm up-complete breakfast. Lol. Dinner at cafe was cheap-for both of us to eat-under $10. Meatballs-don't get the hype-they are frozen balls which lack flavor!-don't waste your time. Chicken cordon blue had good flavor. Definitely will be back-lots if good deals! read more

It's IKEA, so what's not to love? I'll tell you - the cafeteria. Having been to the Oak Creek store multiple times, I have never seen as much chaos as surrounds their eatery - even during off peak times. Not just once, but EVERY time that I have visited. A single cashier, moving at a glacial pace, trying to provide check out service to two lines that are backed up far out in the dining area. Refrigerated "grab and go" section usually devoid of the most popular selections, hot food table always seem to be waiting on replenishments, and staff that seem utterly unable to cope with a simple request. In the line in which I was in, I asked an employee if they would mind getting me a salmon salad from the other line since my side was empty of said salad and didn't look like it would be replaced anytime soon. Having to ask twice, I received a look of utter annoyance from the employee who begrudgingly went to the other side to grab one of the very few salads that were left in that refrigerator. After a lengthy conversation another employee on the opposite side, my salad arrived and was curtly pushed towards me with a grunt when I said "thank you". Management really needs to take a field trip to either of the Chicago area stores to see how to get the Oak Creek cafeteria to the minimum of standards. Other than the nightmare scenario of the cafeteria, and and the uncertainty of inventory stock which the computer says is there but no one can find, the store is as awesome as you expect IKEA to be. read more

i had to go to the bathroom really bad! but there was only 1 bathroom open and it was packed! so i didn't go, we were looking for a desk for my room. but the one that we liked was out of stock and it said that. but we found a different one we liked it said it was in stock, and keep in mind i still had to go to the bathroom, so we went all the way to the end to pick it up. but it was out of stock we had 4 things that said where in stock but when we went to go there the were all gone! and the people were horrible they would not help us! there were way to many people too! everyone was on top of each other! there was no limit to people! read more

I placed an online order and paid for delivery because it was about the same cost as renting a van and driving 180 miles roundtrip to the store in Oak Creek, and it saved me many hours of driving. I got email notices that my order had been delivered to the delivery service's warehouse and then I got an email that gave me my delivery day, followed by a robo-call for a 4-hour delivery window. In the middle of my first delivery window, I got another robo-call from the delivery contractor (North American Logistics) asking me to choose my delivery day the next week. After calling their customer service, I learned that the local delivery service had "mechanical issues" and that's why I was being rescheduled. Got another date, got an email with a 4-hour window, and then I got yet another robo-call changing the 4-hour window. At that point, I began to doubt that I would ever see the items I ordered, so I called IKEA customer service (and waited at least 30 minutes on hold) and cancelled my order. I think IKEA needs to find a more reliable delivery service. Every other business that sells furniture online manages to get things to you without a bunch of delays. read more

So this has probably been my 3rd time to ikea total. Went to the one in Illinois and that was a good experience. On Thursday me and my wife went to get a new dresser and bed set. We being fairly new to the store didn't realize we needed several boxes to complete the bed frame(with one being out of stock). So being in the checkout already we were informed we couldn't buy the bed unless we had all the boxes. We took off the parts of the bed we couldn't buy but still got charged for the headboard and had to turn around and sit in the customer service line for around a half an hour. They gave us the refund and it was no big deal. So we decided we might as well buy it online and buy store pick up to save the hassle of us messing it up. So we went in on Sunday and picked it all up, got it home and then realized they miss picked a box from the set,so no point in doing the in store pickup really. On Wednesday we had to go all the way back and sit in line for almost a half an hour again only to be treated like we had done something wrong. Now they are "reviewing the cameras" to try to put the blame on us. I work in retail and I have never seen anyone be treated like a criminal for returning a miss picked item. After this is resolved I could care less about spending my money at ikea anymore. read more

I agree with the less than stellar reviews about this place being a fire trap. The layout is horrible and it's very uninviting and confusing as a result. It really is a maze and the map they have, shows that it's a linear design, which, couldn't be further from the truth. Perhaps, even the people who were in charge of making the map for customers, didn't even know a logical way to design the map of the place. I was excited that an Ikea was opening here, since I visit the Milwaukee area somewhat frequently. I was very disappointed upon arriving. There's only one entrance and exit and it's in the middle of the building/store. The one in Schaumburg, Illinois is far better. It blows this place away; it's truly no comparison. I'm not sure what they were thinking when designing this Ikea in Milwaukee. They should've just mirrored what was in the other well-designed Ikeas, like the Schaumburg one or the smaller one that's in Bolingbrook, Illinois. read more

I went into the IKEA on a Monday The store was completely empty. I was trying to get some help by the entertainment center. But there was no one there I stood around for about 20 minutes. The whole time I stood there maybe one or two groups of people walk past me I'm pretty sure the staff wasn't helping other customers. I finally started walking around looking for someone to help me when I found eight of them all hanging out by the appliances not helping anyone just leaning on the tables and talking to each other. I asked one of them if they could help me with an entertainment center. And that's when I got the worst customer service experience I ever got at any store I got told that they couldn't help me because that wasn't their department. Not just in my department let me go find someone who can help you. Just that's not my department and then turn back and start talking to the other people. Not one of the other ones offered to help me either. So I decided I was just going to leave and walk through the maze until I got to the picking area. I saw a shelving unit that I was interested in and figured since I drove all the way out here I might as will pick up the one item and take that home. The one saving grace and the only reason I'm giving a 2 Star reading instead of 01 is because I was having trouble loading it onto a flatbed and an employee told me don't hurt myself let me help you. We only friendly person I dealt with in that whole store I don't know what that guys name was but he was amazing. So then I got home I start putting together my shelf. Get the whole thing assembled except for the final piece had to be attached and there are no drill marks. So I tried calling the store eight times. an automated message keep saying that they have a high call volume and that they can't take my call and then hang up on me. What the crap is that you can put me on hold you just hang up on me. That's on acceptable. All I want to know is do I take this whole thing apart now and bring it back? Or do I just need to bring back the one piece? I don't want to drive 35 minutes just to find out I have to go back home and grab everything or that I wasted my time taking it apart when I didn't need to. read more

Ordered a VIMLE Couch, Ottoman, Coffee Table, and Laptop stand, and paid for delivery. Their delivery contractor asked 2 days for me to wait 12 hours (with 4 hour specific windows) and missed both days (changing the 4 hour window on the second day from 9a-1pm to 1p-5pm without telling me), expecting me to contact them (which I did) when they missed the window. The furniture was supposedly broken and never loaded onto the truck both days, and I had to call after the window, AFTER they told me to be home, to find out the furniture wasn't going to be delivered. THEY KNEW in both cases at the beginning of the day when they loaded their trucks and my delivery was not in the truck, and no one cared to reach out. Their best offer of recompense, was to refund the delivery fee of $40. 24 hours of your time is only valued at $40. You wouldn't give your valued time to a person who treats you like garbage, definitely don't give your money to this company. Two days of customer service hell and an empty living room are enough to tell you that IKEA isn't worth your time. read more

My family and I signed up to remodel our kitchen with Ikea. It's been awful for so many reasons. First, the designers are NOT on the same page as Ikea so even starting the process was a challenge. The wrong cabinets were delivered and even thought I've called three separate times to get the correct ones sent to our home, nearly 2.5 weeks later, I still don't know if the right ones are being delivered. The subcontractors showed up 2 hours late to our home on the first installation day. They also ripped up our floor without testing for asbestos (extremely negligent) and we ended up having some asbestos in the tiles!!! I have two small children -- this is unacceptable. We are on week two of the install and we have noticed one of the cabinets are covering the door frame and looks awful. We have NO TIMELINE for when our kitchen will be done. We are constantly asking questions to the subcontractors because no one tells us who is coming to our house or when. I'm so disappointed. Don't do an IKEA kitchen!!! read more

Never order a kitchen through this company. My kitchen hasn't even been installed yet but i'm writing this to save YOU the trouble. My kitchen was set to be delivered 09/29, i took a vacation day anticipating my kitchen arrival. It never came, so i called IKEA, they said the kitchen wasn't ready to be delivered ( a phone call to let me know that would of been great!) So they pushed the delivery date back to 10/04, i called 10/03, again anticipating delivery. They responded with " it's still not ready, we can have it delivered in full 10/15" Here it is 10/15, i called ikea again, they pushed back my delivery date to 10/17. WHAT A JOKE! How can you treat customers like this!? Then the logistics company they EMPLOY/Contract through, doesn't even call me when they received my kitchen. This whole process has been a nightmare. They offered me a $100 in store credit card... That's barely 2% off for all my troubles! I haven't had a kitchen sink since 09/24! My husband and I spent 3 hours walking through Ikea this afternoon. We've never been to an Ikea store before and wanted to find out what the excitement was all about. We didn't buy anything, most people weren't buying anything, they were just looking around. The store has absolutely everything you could want for a home, dorm room or apartment. The prices were cheap. The quality of the furniture was not very good and might last about 10 years if used by a family. I certainly can understand why 20-30 somethings like this store because some of it is kind of cool looking and for young people's tastes and it's affordable for them, but as they age they won't be shopping here for kitchen cabinets or furniture. I don't need to drive to Ikea to shop for Knick knacks, rugs, kitchenwares, lamps, etc I can buy those items in stores near my home. We ate lunch at the cafeteria-my advice eat either before you go to Ikea or afterwards. The area was a zoo and very disorganized. The food choices were skimpy and the food wasn't very good. The food is cheap, that's the best I can say about it. Ikea had a sign in the dining area of the cafeteria that talked about how they compost the leftover table scraps, less for the landfill, etc, etc. How about all of the cheap furniture that's going to the landfill after 10 years??? read more
