The good company was coupled with a post meal apéritif as we ended up being one of the last tables at the restaurant. All of this is before even touching on the food and wine. The preparation of everything here was stunning both on the eyes and the pallet. Getting a steak is a must, but the pasta, and starters are not to be passed on. While maintaining the fine dining environment, nothing at Il Chippi felt pretentious or fussy. Simply well executed and homey. This place is on the Michelin guide, but in my opinion deserves several stars, which it has not yet been granted.

It rotates every month and they make the food fresh for the whole restaurant and it is served family style to your private table. In other words, each table in the restaurant is eating the same thing. You can watch them make the pasta as the first course is being served. It really feels like you are in someone's home. The night we came, the opener was a meat plate. Plenty of salty Italian meats to make it a meal in and of itself. You can ask for as much as you want but save yourself for all the courses. Next came skewers of lamb sausage. They were so different and had a tang to them that was amazing. The third course was backed artichokes, nothing too special. Next was a beef broth that was excellent with bread. There was a soupy consistency to this. The pasta was next. Gnocchi was out first pasta. I could see them making it so I knew what was coming and the timing was amazing. This was followed by ravioli which was so fresh again, you could taste it. Our final course was a wild boar that was so soft and juicy. It really got me hooked on this meat. The desserts were average but who cares, we were so stuffed by then anyways on the good stuff. The sausage was the perfect little snacking cup with toothpicks and overall everything went well with our wine. They also gave us the little circular baked crackers to dip in our wine. When we were called we were moved to the main dining area which was adorable. Nearly every table had unique artwork on the surrounding walls. We then ordered more of the same wine, the Bonaccia salad, and the Parmigiana di Melanzane con Ricotta Salata. The salad was SO good. It was perfect with lemon and delicious olive oil dressing and an even mix of lettuce, cooked diced potatoes, olives, octopus, sundried cherry tomatoes. The eggplant was a fantastic texture, not too soft but tender and the cheese on it was immaculate. We were too full for dessert but the waiter offered us free limoncello shots as a night cap.
