Bomb sandwiches. A lil bit of a walk from town but perfect to grab and go to the square and enjoy the sights!

While staying in Vernazza we enjoyed our breakfast at Il Pirata! Fresh , Tasty pastries and coffee. Unfortunately we did not get to try the egg breakfast options but it looked great on other people's plates :) The ordering system is a bit confusing , as there is a pastry display you can choose your pastry from, then at the table you order beverages and whatever else. There is really no set menu with breakfast items as one is used to ... but the staff is super nice and will take care of you !

This is the place for breakfast! We visited every morning for coffee, pastries, and eggs. Food was exceptional. Max, the owner, is was so much fun to talk with. High recommend!

    O. M. G. Been in Italy for 7 days and have had the best food HERE! Ordered the pizza- piccante, and sandwich- Vernazza. Both absolutely perfect. We shared. Hidden gem and simple and affordable

Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic! My wife and I were in Italy in 2015, and a highlight of our trip was our three days in Vernazza -- and a highlight of our three days in Vernazza was breakfast every morning at Il Pirata. When we returned in March 2025, the first place we went, before even checking into our apartment, was Il Pirata to say hello to the Cannoli Brothers, who claimed (honestly? no idea!) to remember us. Regardless, they treated us like royalty. Again, we had breakfast with them every morning, and although in March they closed around 5 PM we were able to take away food for dinner -- far better than anything we found in the local restaurants. Highly highly recommended, especially the cannoli and the gnocchi. (If you're coming by train, head UP from the station, rather than down toward the harbor. If you're coming by car and parking at the paid parking above the village, the shuttle will drop you right at Il Pirata's entrance.)

The food was incredible! The service was superb! Probably best octopus salad I've had!

you are near, this is a must visit spot. We first visited 7 years ago, and are returning now, the staff are the same. It's busy, it's a bit chaotic, and overall, it's amazing. Good service, good coffee, amazing parties and OJ. They added eggs and bacon also so you can get your protein fix and pastries fix in one go. The system is a tiny bit confusing, but easy once you get your bearings . You get seated, give one of the waitresses your drink order, go up to the pastry display and order your food, then sit and they will ring it to you. When done, pay at the counter again. If you only eat at one place in Vernazza, make it here.

Inviting staff excited about their wonderful food. Great service and food was exceptional. Tried their pistachio pastry, eggs and a ham & cheese croissant. Next time I'm going to get a glass of their fresh squeezed orange juice.

Go here!! Service was amazing with super friendly staff. I usually get a plain croissant but after speaking with the gentleman behind the counter, I let him surprise me with his choice and it didn't disappoint! Other people I was with got the gnocchi bolognese and pasta with walnut truffle cream. They enjoyed it as well. You will leave here satisfied!!

Amazing service. Amazing food. Everything we ordered was incredible... you can't go wrong. Our favorite place to eat in Vernazza

This place definitely lives up to the hype! The seafood is fresh caught and delicious along with all their pasta and sauces. But the desserts; they are well known for their Cannolis and Panna Cotta, both of which were to die for. I think what really stood out to me, though, was the service. Our waitress was so nice and gave us recommendations, and the manager spent a whole 10 minutes talking to us, telling us about him and the restaurant, and making sure we were satisfied and smiling. Great pic!

The croissant was amazing! The strawberry's were so fresh!! The waiting staff was one of the nicest people we had met in Cinque Terre. The restaurant is perched at the top of the hill and you can see the ocean!

Note, from town ground level, it is a climb - 225 steps to the restaurant. The food was great, we had the spaghetti alla mari and lasagna al ragu, plus a limoncello and a local sweet wine, Sciacchetrà, which reminded us of a port but less sweet. The service was fantastic - our waitress was friendly and checked in with us occasionally which was perfect. We didn't have reservations but they kindly sat us at a table with an amazing view.

I've heard about "earning your meal" by doing a workout but this was a bit extreme. First, just trying to find the bottom of the stairway was a task as every map app we used brought us to a dead end including literally a break in a wall where the tide was rolling in. So we used the Force. The Force worked. At least right up to the point where we found ourselves behind the restaurant supplier who, and I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP, is using a motorized push cart with TANK tracks to bring produce, meat, drinks etc, from the bottom to the restaurant. The good news was it forced us to slow down to catch our breath. The bad news is it forced us to slow down and catch our breath. Reminded me when I'm at the gym and I'm silently cursing my trainer to hurry the F-up and get this session over with. You come to Cinque Terre and you definitely want to combine some great food with some great views. Ristorante La Torre hits both of those at a price. That price was a "I'm lost" and "I'm going to die on this path" hike up winding stairs wondering if the restaurant is ever going to appear. But its worth it. The view of Vernazza and the neighboring towns and of course the glistening Ligurian Sea are just breathtaking. There is inside dining but thankfully the weather permitted us to sit on their multilevel patio. We did opt for some shade because by the time we got up there it was a little bit of sun and my buttery body was melting. I really could have used some wine but I was dehydrated enough so skip. Service was surprisingly attentive, perhaps a nod to understanding the American tourist. Is this a touristy place? For the quality of service and food I want to say no. It has been my experience that a tourist trap sacrifices one or both. Yes I was sweaty and wondering how much will a hospital stay in Italy cost me but this was a great visit. Food: sadly, no gnocchi (which is what I zeroed in on first) related dishes that day. Maybe the ingredients were stuck in the bottom of the hill. I'd normally dock off some love but given I literally witnessed the effort to get supplies I'm not going to complain for a shortage of a dish. Fritto misto : great lightly fried batter on sardines, calamari, shrimp. Spaghetti alla Mari (seafood spaghetti): perfectly cooked pasta with generous amount of shrimp, langostino, calamari in a simple olive oil and garlic sauce. Tagliolino all' Aragostella (taglino with lobster): again perfect al dente pasta in a pomodoro sauce Pasta (forget which style substituted for said absent gnocchi) in pesto. Simple and comforting. All the food was super fresh and tasty Oh and downhill was easy.

Aperol & lemon cello spritzes we're heavy handed with liqueurs, so very bitter and thick. Don't think I'd come back- Luca was better across the way. Okay if you can't go elsewhere.

On a Thursday evening in Vernazza, where we were staying, we really only had four open restaurants to choose from for dinner: Vulnetia, Gianni Franzi, Taverna Del Capitano, and Il Baretto. Il Baretto had the best reviews on TripAdvisor, its average 4-star rating exceeding the mediocre 3-3.5 ratings of the other three. However, I really wanted to try Tegame Vernazza, a local specialty of baked anchovy with potatoes, as well as a pasta I hadn't tried before. Vulnetia had the best combination of menu diversity and reasonable prices. Under other circumstances during the regular season, we probably would have avoided all four restaurants. Alas, we made do. My husband and I were delighted to discover that at the least the ambience was beautifully decorated and warm inside. The cover charge of 2 euros per person included bread--stale white bread without any condiment of EVO, butter, or balsamic vinegar. We ordered the tegame Vernazza (15 euros) and the pansotti with walnut sauce (14 euros). Both were good, not amazing, and both portions were on the smaller end. The walnut sauce, plopped on top of the stuffed pasta, was not terribly flavorful and was stingy in amount, not enough to fully mix the pansotti, much less to sop the bread with. The dishes came out suspiciously quickly, but did satiate the curiosity if not the appetite. Service was extraordinary slow, even though we were one of a handful of parties there. In the evening, it was nice that the waiters weren't rushing us to leave, allowing us to take our time.
