A few friends and I were staying in Vernazza, Cinque Terre for a couple days, decided to head down to the town/beach, and was looking for a good place for lunch. It was pretty hard for us to find somewhere that had reasonable prices and wasn't overcrowded. After making the suggestion to go a little further into town to find somewhere, we stumbled upon the Blue Marlin Bar. This restaurant was a very cute, casual joint. We had a friendly server who was always around when we needed her. There were a lot of tasty-looking options on the menu, and I decided to go with the Ham and mozzarella sandwich. It was really good, especially paired with what I think is the most AMAZING daiquiri I have ever had! Like seriously, I was in love y'all. You could get the strawberry daiquiri regular or with cut up fruit added for one Euro more (which is what I went with.) It was just so fresh....My Texas friends were pretty excited to see that they had margaritas on the menu, which looked pretty great as well. I also tried some of my friends pizza, can't remember what it was but it was colorful with vegetables, and was a great option too. Nice and cozy place in town located very closely to the train station. Very friendly staff it is a nice place to go and hangout. There were lots of locals there as well and not just tourist. My guesthouse actually recommended this place to go eat and drink at. They have a variety of foods and a large selection of wine and drinks. Food prices were around 10-15 euros and a house wine was 4 euros. It closed down for the season this week and should re open again when winter is done. I wasn't able to eat but just had some wine and like most of Italian wines it was amazing. their pizzas did look quite good and large. Everyone eating there seemed very happy. There are also two parts to the place. One section you can sit down and eat and the other section is the bar. Pesto bruschetta, the spritz, the coffee, croissants, "American" breakfast (eggs and focaccia-so good), tuna salads... everything was so refreshing and our go to place when we were just wanting something to hold us over or fuel up for a few hours. I'm giving two stars only because the staff was friendly and the location convenient. We paid 4€ for the local white wine. The glass barely had 5 sips. The pizza was terrible, the Italian version of frozen pizza, is the only way to describe it. read more

I really like this place! I would recommend it as the best breakfast spot in the town of Vernazza, and maybe all of Cinque Terre, if you are looking for a hearty american-styled breakfast with eggs and sausages etc. Although they do offer sweeter, more European style breakfasts as well. The coffee was great and the interior was decorated with different art prints by well known artists as well as a piano and a bar on the opposite side of the restaurant. They also have a patio outdoors if the weather allows it. read more

We LOVE Massimo and Carmen. They are the most kind and loving people I know ! We met them 15 years ago by accident, and just found them again. they will have a place in our heart forever for their kindness to us. We just left the Blue Marlin Cafe a few days ago and wish we could have stayed longer. The Cafe and food is wonderful, but they are more wonderful. This is the only restaurant in Vernazza that serves a full breakfast....eg...eggs, bacon, OJ, etc. The lattes and café americano were great, and the focaccia were tasty. There's a small and a bit cramped patio in front of the bar which is great for people watching. However, the one waiter working the patio was so rude, he ruined the experience. He ignored several customers and at times one wondered if he wasn't particularly snubbing English speakers and Asians. I saw several people leave after being so poorly treated. He never smiled, never talked, only grunted. Perhaps he doesn't need tips nor customers. I don't need eggs...I will not be returning. read more

This place is a whole disaster! Horrible unpleasant and aggressive staff! I have asked questions about pizza but nobody told it was a frozen 1€ pizza from nearest supermarket. Girl who was a waiter instead of sorry shouted that it was my fault for not reading small note in Italian. At the end when I said I will write review the waitress told she doesn't care and recommend to come back to my home country and never come back. This is tourist place, where i have been told to get the hell out. Strongly recommend to fire such a Member of staff I would mark minus 5 stars if I could read more

Pastries and hot drink 7-9...Eggs at 9....lunch, drinks later. The staff is very nice and helpful with ideas, directions, finding your lodging, Plus the wifi is rare and helpful when it works. We stopped by one evening for drinks and one day for breakfast. Their breakfast menu options were hard to determine because it's all kind of jumbled together, but it's one of the few places in town where you can order eggs if that's how you like to start your day. My peach bellini was real hunks of peaches blended with prosecco and served frozen like a slushie. It was perfect on a hot, June early evening! My breakfast was 2 eggs over hard with some sauteed veggies on the side. There were also a few bites of focaccia. To drink I tried my first Italian cafe shakerato, an iced espresso coffee drink that kept me wide-eyed until midnight even though I had it at 9:30am. I saw people drinking them the day before and they were larger and with milk. I just asked for milk after mine was served and added it myself. I guess the daytime person and evening bartender make them differently. We sat outside and enjoyed the people watching. read more

We came here so the BF can get his daily caffe latte the morning we left Vernazza since the place we have been going to (Burgus) was closed! The outside seating was great since we had our luggage with us. The BF thought his caffe latte was OK but I liked the apple torte we ordered. All in all, this place was ok. Excellent place to eat in Vernazza. Opens for coffee around 7am, then regular breakfast a bit later. We had breakfast with eggs a couple of mornings, hard to find in Le Cinque Terre. Also a great selection of lunch items, especially the insalada tonno, mixed green salad with tuna. The very congenial waiter Allesandro is the best! Prices are good, considerably more reasonable than most of the other choices in town (closer to the harbor). The Blue Marlin also has rooms available, which we will check out before our next visit.
