What an excellent, elegant, relaxing Italian restaurant! The garden courtyard dining area is alfresco. There is also an indoor dining room. It is all very classy and intimate. Great for a romantic dinner, or for a business meeting like I had. The service was friendly and efficient. The food was excellent and seemed rather authentic to me. The owner / manager is actually Italian. I thought the prices were reasonable, especially for such an elegant atmosphere in which to dine. I will definitely return next time I am in town. read more

Found this little place on yelp and I'm glad we tried. It's about an 8 min walk from the Malecon which wasn't bad at all. The front of the restaurant is deceiving.... walk in and it's beautiful. Eat outdoors, it's worth it. Ordered a bottle of wine, and the basic pepperoni pizza. "Individual" pizza but if you're not feeling too hungry you're able to share. Thin crush and very delicious. We also got the onion, Italian sausage and mozzarella pizza. Very good as well. 6 people the bill came out to $106 USD that's including the wine bottle, sangria, and an extra glass of wine. So not bad for a very nice intimate dinner with family and friends. Or even a romantic night. Will be back again! read more

Today I had dinner here with my husband. The place was recommended by a good friend of mine. Husband order a 4-cheese Pizza and i had the rustico salad and Quattro pizza. Food was delicious! Great pizza! The only reason why I am tying a 3-Star is because our waiter was not courteous or welcoming. He was an older man who seemed tired. I asked if the place offered different drinks other than wine and margarita and he cut me off said that's all they had. No suggestions or recommendations where given. He was really dry, like not liking what he does. I would've ordered more margaritas if he would've offered me, but no. We left for dessert and coffee somewhere else. What a disappointment after reading all the good reviews. Customer service to me is more important than the food, that invites me to come back again soon. Great Italian Food on a Rustic atmosphere. Five stars isn't enough wow for this place. The food was epic, the ambience was amazing, and the staff was gracious and helpful. And we fed a party of four to overfull for $100 including a shared tiramisu and tip. They typically do reservations (call them) but we stopped by at about 6:00 PM and were seated quickly. We got to eat dinner in the garden courtyard as the sun faded. It was magical. We had 2 pasta dishes, a pizza, and a calzone. I've never seen a calzone this big. There were some older reviews that were unsatisfied with the staff, but we found completely the opposite. From when we were initially seated through when we waddled out into the night, everybody was awesome, describing and advising about menu items, and checking in with us just the right amount. We only have two dinners left on our trip and at least one of them will be at Il Rustico. There's so much more we still want to try on the menu. read more

We enjoyed a lovely dinner tonight. Dining is mostly al fresco, which we love, but there is seating inside. I ordered the linguine gambreti with shrimp, zucchini and it was delicious but dry- definitely needed more sauce. My fiance ordered the shrimp pesto with farfalle and I had food envy - It was delicious! Overall, the food was good and prices were very fair. We would definitely go back. We wanted to have pizza and spaghetti on our vacation so we decided to try this place. Reservations are recommended but we were able to get a table with no res. Awesome. The place looks abandon from the outside but as soon as you walk in you are welcomed from a friendly staff. What an amazing outdoor seating this place has. The food was excellent. The waitress was nice. The pricing was good too. The reason I gave it a four was I was being eaten alive by mosquitoes. I had 15 mosquito bites. Those things were vicious. The ambiance and wine list are very nice. Beautiful outside courtyard with rustic tables. Wine list features both Italian and BCS (Valle de Guadalupe) wines. Service was pretty good (Saturday evening). My wife and I both had pasta with seafood dishes. Mine was the Duo di Mare, which was linguine with shrimp and mussels. The pasta was ok. The shrimp was over cooked. My wife's fettuccine sauce was bland. I do not recommend the lentil soup. It was too heavy and had no flavor. The biggest issue was paying. The server told us the credit card machine internet was not responding and asked us to pay cash after we had already eaten. The front door says they take VISA cards. He even went so far as to suggest we go to an ATM. When we declined and said we did not have cash, he took our card again and magically everything worked. So basically the manager or whomever was playing games and trying to pretend that they could not accommodate credit cards because of the exchange rate. We didn't appreciate it after ordering appetizers and meals and bottles of wine. We still tipped the server well but we probably won't be back due to the credit card machine games after seeing the table next to us pay with a credit card. read more

This restaurant has a wonderful outdoor atmosphere. Very nice wine list, not big but nice wines. We ordered a bottle of the Castas Cardon and it was fabulous. The food was very good. We tried pizza and pappardelle ragu pasta, it was all delicious. I just spent 3 weeks traveling Italy and this food was just as good as what you can find there. The service is fine, but they could work on being more friendly and personable. I will definitely return. read more

Caprese salad was perfect with the freshest burrata cheese. Pizzas were pretty good, but the pasta was better. The puttanesca was dressed in the ripest cherry tomatoes with the perfect amount of spice, and linguine was cooked al dente. Yum. The courtyard is quiet and lovely - well lit, romantic and gravel - eliminating anything green on the ground keeps the mosquitoes and jejenes at bay (bonus!). 4 stars (vs. 5) because the service can be a bit slow. read more

Il Rustico came recommended by locals. Having lived in Italy I was very excited to try this Tuscan spot. The ambiance is gorgeous, sitting outside in a beautiful garden. The food was really good, authentic Italian with some local fish integrated into the dishes. The bread was even delicious. Very good pizza , best dish on the menu. We ordered fish for a change and we waited one hour and 10 minutes . When we asked the owner why such a delay ( which does never leave the register , even to say hi or make sure that everything is ok) , he said that there was a lot to wait and they should have told us . ( which the waiter did not). Fish arrived and was tasteless, potatoes were not cooked through and it was definitely not worth the wait. read more

Slightly disappointed overall in both the meal, presentation and certainly ver poor service for a evening dinner with 4 persons. We ate lunch one day and dinner the following evening. The design and backyard outdoor seating is beautiful with a casual rustic elegance that is often hard to achieve. Service was very friendly and attentive - however some problems in the kitchen caused a few delays and missteps. We were down visiting family in La Paz and went here for dinner with them. The staff was attentive and the food was wonderful. I had one of the special pasta dishes with shrimp and crab. One of the highlights was knowledge of the server regarding the wines from Mexico. We had two bottles of an excellent blended wine from the Guadalupe Valley. All in all a great time with family. I enjoyed the Old world style of classic Italian food, the thin crust pizza was very good. We had the spaghetti Bolognese which was very good. Very good place definitely would eat there again when I come back to La Paz. My biggest gripe was there isn't an English Menu. read more

We had a phenomenal dinner at il rústica. It was a very welcome Italian meal after eating tons of excellent seafood. The pizza was flavorful and light, comparable to pizzas we've had in Italy and better than our favorite pizzerias in the sf bay. We had a lot tomato pie with arugula and Parma ham. Pasta was perfectly cooked, puttanesca flavorful and perfectly fishy. We had a delicious vegetable antipasto with probably home picked artichokes and thinly sliced roasted and picked veggies. What they accomplish is impressive given the likely challenges of sourcing ingredients. Service was excellent and the atmosphere quiet and beautiful. Wholeheartedly recommended. read more
