Simply perfect. Show was about two hours of fun and interactive magic/illusions w a stellar magician. Lots of guest interaction on every trick in a very cozy theater space. Drinks were really great and two were included w the ticket price. If u take someone Under 21, they can use the tickets to buy things from the magic store in the theater or drink fantastic mocktails. I can't say enough for the level of entertainment and value for the money. They could charge 100 dollars a ticket and it would still be a deal. I hope to go back again sometime! read more

Illusions is so fun! This was my second time there, but the first was pre-pandemic many years ago. My husband and I came for a different type of date night and had a great time. Spencer is very talented with his magic tricks, and also very funny! He doesn't do the physical stuff anymore due to doctors orders (like hang upside down, straight jacket etc) which was a little bit of a bummer, but we had a great time and it was a very entertaining show. When I got tickets for this show for my magic-loving husband's 60th birthday, I was expecting something fun and cheesy. I was not expecting everyone who came with us would have our minds blown. Everything about this show was wonderful: the vibe, the drinks, the service, the attendees... but especially the MAGIC. We were an arm's length from Spencer for much of the show, almost at eye level with the cards. And we have NO IDEA how these clever, complex tricks were accomplished. A friend of my sister's had told me about Illusions and how fun it was, I made a mental note of it before finally getting tickets when my friends from Seattle were in town for a visit this past weekend. We got tickets for Saturday at 3 pm and got there a little after 2 pm. There was parking on Charles st and on the side streets (it might've also been because we're in the middle of a heat wave and nobody wants to leave their house). The owner and magician came out to greet us. He gave us our drink tickets and showed us to our seats. When you walk in, you're immediately transported to a cool and spooky bar atmosphere. We loved it. All of us were super hyped when we saw it. We went up and grabbed our first round of drinks. My husband got the hazelnut espresso martini, and my friend and I got the daiquiri. My other friend also got a drink with a cherry in it, I can't remember the name. But we all really enjoyed our drinks. And they were strong. The hazelnut espresso martini was on point. I don't like coffee, but I would've taken my husband's drink if he let me! We did get another round right before the show started. My husband got the strawberry lemonade cocktail while my friend and I got the pie car. The pie car tasted exactly like an apple pie, and I'm kicking myself for not getting that first. It was definitely my favorite. The show itself was SO fun. We all had such a blast. Spencer is great. He's hilarious, and it really adds to the experience. We loved the magic tricks - especially my husband who loves this kind of stuff. He even suggested we bring some of his friends whenever they come to visit us. I already have another friend tell us she wants to come the next time she's in town as well! There is an intermission to go to the bathroom and get more drinks! Although the bartender comes around during the show to see if you need another drink! After the show, I got Spencer's autograph and we got a selfie with him! When my friend said she wanted to go to a magic show for her birthday celebration I was a little skeptical. But this was such a fun evening out! We went with a very large group for a birthday celebration with a wide range of different ages from 14-70+ and a mixed group of locals and out of towners. Everyone in our party was thoroughly entertained. The illusionist, Spencer Horseman, does a lovely job of engaging everyone in the audience and of providing moments for spectators to become a part of the show. Spencer is the magician and Nicole is the head bartender. This show is interactive so be prepared to be called on! Trust me, they won't get up and embarrass you in any way or throw knives at you. All the tricks and illusions are centered around cards. I can't remember the exact number of people that each show holds but it might be around 30 or so. Plenty of space around you. You'll be seated at a table facing the stage and bar. They do make their own drinks and during the show, Nicole will come around to get drink orders so you don't have to get up infront of everyone. They're open Fridays and Saturdays and always sell out so get your tickets in advance. Doors open at 7 and they allow you to bring your own food but you must finish eating by 8! Hard to describe, other than go see this. He is a pure entertainer, funny, smart, and adapts immediately to whatever the audience throws at him. I booked a private event at Illusions for a corporate get-together with my team, as an alternative to the usual corporate activities. Nicole was very quick to respond via email to my inquiry and I was easily able to set up the date and put down the deposit online. I separately arranged for caterers to come prior to guests' arrival to set up dinner. Illusions has a full bar and gave out 2 drink tickets per guest as part of the package. I ordered the hot chocolate winter special drink and it was delicious. We were given an hour to eat, get drinks, and mingle prior to the show. We picked the shorter, ~45 minute show so that colleagues would have additional time to mingle afterward, and it worked well. The 4 hour time block allotted was great for a Tuesday night. On to the show- like many other reviewers, I found it was exactly as advertised with comedy and wide audience participation. The feedback I received from the team was overwhelmingly positive. It triggered many fun discussions of how we thought each trick was done the following day. Glad to have finally checked Illusions off my Baltimore wish list. read more

Off the bat, for $60 dollars you get to watch an incredible show that has 2 complimentary drinks included in the price!! That alone is an outright steal!!! The show itself was truly 2 straight hours of pure entertainment! Whether I was mystified by Spencer's tricks or clutching my stomach in laughter at his wit, there wasn't a singular moment that I wasn't enjoying myself! Especially with all the negative things going on in the world right now, this show will bring an ear to ear smile to your face which was much, much needed! 10/10; a billion percent recommend to any and all!!! In our crowd there was folk as young as teenagers to as old as AARP members and all ages in between and not a damn person left that bar without glee written all over themselves!!! I know I will be taking the 2 hour trip to return myself one day and probably multiple times after!!!
